It was an unexpected error and your troubleshooting was good.
I have a 120 pole saw and hedge trimmer and overall I am satisfied. I have bought them for light work, where work has to be done for a short time. Battery tools have the advantage that they are easy to access and always start, even after a long winter's cold.
But if there is real work to be done, I use a Husqvarna forestry clearing saw, 3 Husqvarna chainsaws etc. with petrol engines. There is still a big difference in power.
Yep, they have their place.
With what type of chain
Good find
Thanks for watching!
Well thats one ive never worked on! Good find!
Thanks for watching!
I haven't the husqvarna pole saw but did a green one to see why it wasn't working it was brand new so after taking it apart i seen it was used and broken so we didn't even get to use it
But i do use my regular old stihl blade pole saw its not gas powered or battery just arm powered thats about the only stihl product i use unless i use my friends stihls
Another great video. Thank you.
Thanks for tuning in!
I’ve Not Worked On One Yet But The Stihl’s Have a Traditional Polesaw Pole Assembly With The Motor Mounted In The Powerhead With The Battery Were a Gas Powerhead Would Normally Go 😀 Nice Catch On The Brush Holder 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This probably was done to save weight. Just a wire in the tube.
Neat. Warranty or no warranty. Over heated maybe. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching!
can't fool greasy shop rag lol...thumbs up !!
Thanks for watching!
Another nice fix. Going to due a video after vacation with the mcculloch
I was editing the repair today so it might come out on Wednesday.
@TheGreasyShopRag cool mine probley wont be till next week Wednesday.
That's supposed to be like that. It's the new Brushed/Brushless combo!
More like broke/broken.
I got called to a job to get a stihl pole saw unstuck and did the person kept wanting to get under were the saw was to catch it from it falling down with the limb but i had to stop cutting and tell the guy get back and let it fall
The husqvarna 440 got the stihl free it didn't fall from to far up but the limb was large enough if that person stayed in the way it would bust his head open i checked the stihl the stihl still worked fine just the person that was using it didn't know what he was doing he stayed cutting from the bottom up and is how it got stuck
Will Husky have you install new motor or will they replace the whole shebang?
That one got a new motor.
Great catch, was there any signs that lead you to it? Or just investigate as you go?
For me the biggest clue separating an electrical issue from a mechanical issue was the fact that the chain wouldn't turn. Yes it was an electric motor failure but it was the binding that gave it away.
@@TheGreasyShopRag always THUMBS UP , I have always liked to say Thank You when someone answers.
what do you think of think of these battery tools? i am thinking they have along way to go to make these work right
The homeowner ones are pretty basic just to keep costs down and be competitive. The pro grade tools are powerful. All will benefit when battery technology gets better.
They need to strengthen the plastic on other brands.
I wonder if it is under warranty? if not new motor?
Yes this got a new motor.
We bought a green pole battery powered saw and it came broke and i wouldn't buy another battery powered pole saw their made to cheap on the inside looked like what happened to ours is whoever was using it was holding it up but once they got the limb cut through they let it fall hard and it cracked the plastic almost as cheap as the John deere plastic hoods
Plastic is fantastic! ...or so they claim.
@@TheGreasyShopRag it might be on that one fantastic but isn't on other brands i can't even remember the name of the one we bought and it came already used and broken but it was green a cheap green one because the sprocket was mounted on plastic so when they let it fall cause they couldn't hold it up in the air it cracked that part and broke the chain tightener
This doesn't give me confidence that battery powered tools are ready to take over from gas (as is now mandated in California) but maybe I can make a living fixing them? Thanks for the video, brother
To be fair, I only show videos of broken ones and not all the good ones that are still running.
@@TheGreasyShopRag I know, I know... I'm just venting. We're three months into the small engine ban and most people haven't realized that they can't buy a conventional chainsaw, string trimmer, generator, etc. and I don't think the electric technology is yet advanced enough to take over. They're generally more expensive and have abysmal run time restrictions even if they're just as reliable.
What are the contractors doing for equipment? Are used equipment sales up?@@mendonesiac
@@TheGreasyShopRag The state is throwing some money at businesses to help them transition, but for property owners like myself there's no help or guidance.
This ban is still really recent. I'm guessing used sales (and prices) will be increasing, and saws sold as "parts" like the clones from China will become the only option for a new gas tool.
I hope Husky finds a loophole because I've been happily running their equipment for over 30 years, and being off-grid, electric isn't a viable option here in the redwood forest
Schmutz .....LATER 😂
