The hot dog part revived a memory from my teenage years.
My mother was dating a Filipino man who had been out of prison for less than a year. He cooked like he was still in prison, tho.
One night he said that he was making curry for dinner. When I came downstairs to eat, I shit you not, there was a plate of hot dog curry waiting at the table for me. The worst part is that we had both chicken breast and chicken thigh in the refrigerator. We, however, had no hot dogs, which means that he left and went to the store to buy hot dogs for the purpose of making this curry.
He did all that effort just to fuck up 😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥
Quite recently I cooked something almost as bad. Family was away for an extended period, so I decided to make a very large Laksa to last me a few days. I had all the proper ingredients, plus a large bag of frozen de-shelled raw prawns. I also cleared out the vegetables drawer and cut up all those that were suitable.
Just before I finished the final assembly, I noticed in the fridge some cooked BBQ sausages from the previous night... and since I was somewhat drunk I decided they would make a good addition.
Suffice to say that no matter how fragrant you make your Laksa, it can never mask the flavour of pre-cooked chunks of cheap sausage 😢

You skipped all the parts in William's video where he struggled to find any of the right ingredients (either at all - hence the pasta over the rice noodles, or within his low price range - hence the hot dogs as the only meat he could afford), and where he also revealed that he used to work at a Thai restaurant and knows a lot of the basics of Thai cooking.
The guy's an absolute riot and a super genuine dude though. Everyone ought to check his channels out.
Bacon or sausage seems like it would have been better than hot dogs; approximately the same price too. Even canned chicken would might have been had a DG.

I'd say this Nephew did good, since all of the things done wrong were mainly unavoidable based on the "gimmick" of the video while he did many things right that even "Professional" Chefs have screwed up. Also an extra point to him for having a Hostage that is honest and has working tastebuds unlike the sad son from Kays Cooking lol
So many things right/wrong at the same time is 100% William. He is insanely smart and usually does things wrong or the hard way just to troll people.

It's verbal fluffery, but reconstitute means to recompose/reconstruct something or make it go back to its normal state. In cooking, the latter meaning is especially for something dried going back to normal with water.

Pad thai sauce's actually simple mixture of fish sauce, palm sugar and tamarind paste. you just mix it and taste it until you feel it's good.
It was truly Sad Thai , not Pad Thai . The girl (hostage ? ) was almost as sarcastically honest as Uncle Roger . 😂 . Also , this fusion cooking reminded me more of the other fusion cooking generally found in nuclear bombs . 😊

tamarind is fibrous just boil it for a long time and strain it I got the stuff with seeds and skins in by mistake but by boiling and straining I got the emulsion I wanted with the other ingredients.
Misnomer fish sauce doesn't taste of fish! It's closer to soy sauce than to fish taste I'm allergic to fish but I can eat this and like it so since yesterday this condiment is on my menu forever!! for sure!!!!!!!
