- This is part one of a three part comparison.
Cyrusher Nitro m620 mid drive e-bike vs Ranger 750w bafang hub drive ebike!
Both bikes did well in this test but one is clearly the winner when it comes to
smooth power and handling! Please like and subscribe to see parts two and three of this series!

Once again a fantastic job! Can't wait to see the other parts! Thanks Tom👍
Hello, my apologies for taking so long to get the other videos made for this comparison. I will be working on them shortly! Cheers
Part 2 and 3 ?
@@cedleced6777 Hello, happy to hear you like the climbing ability of your new Nitro! It does quite well in that regard. I agree completely about the ground clearance issue, I'm working on something that should help with that, just waiting for some parts to come in.
Sorry for the delay, I do these videos as a hobby and I've been working lots of hours lately at my real job. Now, if you're offering to pay my bills so I can do this ebike thing full time I'm listening!
Cheers
Great comparison, I am looking forward for the next Video. It also would be interesting to see riding sequences which show how different the forks respond to the surface - Air vs Coil. Cheers Gino
Hi Gino, hope you're getting out and doing a lot of riding! I'll see what I can come up with to compare the forks out on the trail. Cheers
Great video Tom, can’t wait for part 2 & 3 👍🏼
Thanks for watching Uzair! They are both very capable and fun off road bikes, the Ranger just took this test due to the smooth power and speed. Cheers
I'm seriously considering the Ranger. I'm not a hub-motor fan, but this bike is tempting me.
Understood, this bike with a slight gearing change is a fantastic off road climber. Leave the gearing stock and you can pedal up into the low 40mph range comfortably. You'll want to do the air fork swap if you get it, just so much more smooth travel with the air fork. The simplicity of hub drives is a huge factor for me. Cheers
I already had a gut feeling who would be a little better. Speed isn't everything, it has to be fun. I love my Trax more every day. As a comparison, I drive a Basalt. Unfortunately, the Nitro cannot be driven on public roads in Germany due to our laws. Thanks for your comparison. 👍 👍 👍
Hey! I live in Germany, i just heard about this bike, and started watching videos about the bike, can you enlighten me what is that law is about for public roads? Is there a source webpage maybe i can look up for it? Thanks in advance!

Well that turned out to be a interesting part 1 :) I had a gut feeling the Ranger would come out on top because i know the hub motor is great on the flat which is where the Ranger made up that time difference :) I'm also guessing this will be a close one overall ,as you mentioned the throttle only last part will be a Nitro winner , could this possibly end as a dead heat (level) ? I'm now watching out for Parts 2 & 3 with interest !
Hi Neil, yes I ran this test three times total and the Ranger always finished close to 2 minutes ahead. There is no denying the Ranger can be a quick bike. Thanks for watching!
I am 165 cm (5'5") and this bike (the Ranger) would be too tall for me, but I really like it. Do you think that by sawing off the saddle tube and replacing the handlebar stem with a shorter one, I could use it comfortably? With the saddle at a minimum, how many centimeters are there between the seat of the tube in the bike frame and the point where the saddle would rest if the tube was shorter? I need it to figure out how many centimeters I can make up by sawing the tube. Thank you very much.
Hello, if you lowered the seat all the way down you would have a seat height of 34 inches. The top frame tube measures 32 inches high in the middle. A shorter stem would move the bars back closer to the seat but won't lower things much. The Ranger is just a big bike, wish it was offered in other sizes but it's not. A bike that doesn't fit you just isn't much fun to ride. I'd suggest you find another model that is available in multiple frame sizes, that way you'll have a good fit. Cheers
@@lifebehindbarz60Thank you very much for your kind answer, I really appreciate. I'm a bit undecided though because in other reviews, a couple of rather short people (5'6" and 5'7" based on their statements) said they use this bike comfortably, even without setting the saddle in its lowest position. I guess it's not the best for a small person to ride a big bike, but my main concern now was more about not being able to pedal and stand properly.
@@jmvh8736 Sure thing, generally a persons overall height isn't as important as their inseam. If you live here in Colorado you are welcome to come by and try the fit! Cheers
@@lifebehindbarz60Super kind! I wish I could, but I live in Italy, lol. Thank you anyway!
You are putting these bikes thru a very rigorous workout, almost to the point of extreme. Impressive how these bikes are holding up so well. In the run of this video, what kind of tire pressure are you running?
Thanks for watching! I've been riding the Ranger like this several times a week for about 10 months and literally nothing has broken. To me that's pretty impressive! I've worn out rear linkage bushings and installed the air fork as an upgrade (everyone needs to do this to their Ranger) but that's it.
My tire pressure off road is around 15psi due to the rocky area where I live. If I had smooth dirt trails I'd probably drop that down to about 12psi. Cheers
Have u a link for the Air forks for ranger. I see 30 psi on tyres of ranger
Hello, yes check out this video czcams.com/video/J8lbZGRWdD4/video.html . If you subscribe to my channel you'll be able to see all my videos. I have several videos on changes / improvements / repairs I've done to the Ranger.
The 30psi on the tires is a maximum air pressure, you shouldn't go above that or you risk a tire failure. Running 28psi in your tires is fine for road / paved trail riding. You'll want to run somewhere between 10 - 15psi in the dirt or sand. Cheers
Hey, which muckynutz fender is it on your nitro? Mine is coming Tomorrow… greetings from Germany
Hi Gunnar, back when I bought this for (for another bike) there were only color choices. Does Muckynutz have more than one model of fender now?
Hi Tom, I have experience with the Cyrusher Trax, which was my 1st ebike. I was planning to order the Cyrusher Nitro. But now I'm not sure if the Nitro is really for me. I always left 6th gear on the Trax and was able to start off smoothly and maintain my speed of 25 km/h. Since a mid-motor would be new to me, I tested other ebikes with mid-motors and was shocked. The ebikes cost significantly more than the Nitro and have less power, but the decisive factor is that it is not possible to start off in 6th gear at all, I really had to start off in 1st gear from a standstill and shift up to 10th gear to reach my 25 km/h. The way the ebike sounded when shifting, the rear derailleur, gears and chain would be very affected and would not last long. Is this behavior the same with the Nitro with mid-motor? I would be very happy to receive an answer. Greetings.
Hello Kristijan, you are absolutely right on all your observations. They also apply to the Nitro. Lots of power from the mid drives but it has to be carefully delivered with very deliberate shifting and a bit of "babying" of the driveline. I am extremely happy with the hub drive bikes I own (I have a new one ordered) and really think that 10 years from now the industry standard will be a smaller, lighter, more powerful hub motor. Hope that answers your question. Cheers
Hi Kristijan, I will be selling my Nitro here shortly for $2k. If you are in the United States I can ship it to you. Just throwing that out there as a possibility for you. Cheers
Hi Tom, thank you very much for your answer. Then the Nitro is not the right bike for me. 😔
A Nitro with Hub drive would be the perfect bike for me, but it doesn‘t exist. 🙈 Here in Germany all electric mountainbikes have mid drive, that’s very disappointing.
@@kristijancurin8266 Hello, check out the Velotric Summit 1, it may be just what you are looking for. Cheers
@@lifebehindbarz60 Hi, thanks for the suggestion. The Velotric Summit 1 would be almost perfect, only the rear shock absorber is missing. Unfortunately, my problem is also that you can't order to Germany. 😔
Im not that surprised, some hubs are exalant on trails, overall alot less strain on the drivetrain.
Absolutely, part 2 is coming up shortly where I will talk about this. Thanks for watching!
Good morning, yes the air fork makes a huge difference and so far it has worked at 100% with no issues. Cheers
