There was no DNA evidence on Caylee, investigators couldn't determine the cause of her death, and the death penalty was in play. The prosecution overcharged her. If they had pursued lesser charges (charges that would have carried a harsh sentence) they probably could have gotten the conviction. The death penalty weighed too heavy on the jurors to convict of murder.

Why would someone who DEPENDS on their mother for a place to live and the very basics treat her that way?
There is another question that’s important IMO.
WHY would Casey’s mother put up with her daughter treating her that way?
IDK if Casey was a victim of abuse or not.
If she was abused by her father, I think that sheds a whole lot of light on how she interacted with her family.

@@yovillianify that was exactly the point I was trying to make.
I KNOW we can’t compare ourselves to others but it’s human nature to see others through our own personal point of reference.
Had I become pregnant as a teen? Refusing to disclose by who wouldn’t have been an option.
Based on what I’ve seen and heard from George, it’s incredibly hard to believe he wasn’t pursuing the baby’s father for child support.
I’ve recently heard George ERUPT during an old interview about money going missing from Cindy’s purse.
He started yelling about Cindy and Casey accusing him of stealing $20 out of Cindy’s purse.
      Do WHAT now?
Had I accused my father of stealing $20 in his own home?
      All HELL would’ve broken loose.
Not just myself, but I can’t imagine anyone I know tolerating something like that.
The way Casey spoke to her parents from jail, it was obvious IMO that was their “normal” way of communicating.
My parents would have demanded I tell them Caylee’s whereabouts.
I know for a fact my mother and father would have walked away from me permanently had I refused to answer and spoken to them like Casey spoke to the Anthony’s.
Prior to the peacock documentary I never paid much attention to George and Cindy.
I listened to their testimony but that’s about it.
Now I am going back and watching George’s various interviews with LE and MSM.
IDK who killed Caylee or if it was an accident, I have no idea.
I believe the Anthony family was beyond dysfunctional and I do believe George abused Casey.
IMO George abused Casey and Cindy was NOT ignorant to the fact.
I always wondered why Casey seemed to have George and Cindy “by the balls”.
Now that I’m considering Casey was in fact abused my question is answered.

Casey had so much trauma from her father that she locked her room every night, and claims he r'd her all the time, and he's this monster.
But when her father brings her her lifeless daughters body, and says don't worry ill take care of it, then you never see or hear from her again....and that's that? She didn't check her pulse herself, she didn't ask any questions, she didn't try to find Caley, she wasn't upset with her dad or scared of him, she just fell to her knees and yelled and cried....then went to bed and wokeup the next day and acted like nothing happened, and lived her life as a single woman without kids..... right. Yup. That makes sense. For sure. 😑😑

You CANNOT give cold medicine to a child under 4. Look at a bottle the next time you are at the store.

There were so many discrepencies in the documentary. One that REALLY stood out to me was regarding the internet searches. Casey's AOL and Myspace were logged into at the same time the searches were made (literally logged onto myspace right after searching about suffocating someone). Her answer to this was "We all used each others accounts, everyone had each other's passwords" (Which is plausible but pretty ridiculous alone). BUT if you watch the recordings of her conversations with her parents when she was in jail, there is a part where Cindy and George ask Casey for her Myspace password so they can log on and contact her friends to see if anyone knew anything or could help (this was before Caylee's body was found). But "They all had each others passwords and used each others accounts" I thought?! She is claiming George had logged into her myspace that day "he" made the searches so...Doesn't add up at all.

The problem was that the prosecutor’s dropped the ball & only charged her with first degree murder, and they just didn’t have enough evidence to convict on that specific charge. Everything was circumstantial unfortunately, and the medical examiner couldn’t determine COD on little Caylee’s body once it was finally found. Some of the jurors have even come out and said they were sick to their stomachs over the verdict, and that they never said she was innocent, but that there just wasn’t enough evidence.
