My used BMW M4 with the Stage 2 tune gets an extra 70WHP, 50LB/FT TQ, Loud pops and bags, faster shift times and a more aggressive startup straight from the M4 GTS. In All honesty, I advise against replacing the crank hub. It has been known to fail even after replacing it. And when the keyed ones break its worse than the OEM one. In *MOST* Cases when the OEM one fails it will not destroy the entire engine. It can still happen, but when the keyed ones fail they generally split in half from the part where they keyed it. What ends up happening when it breaks is it destroys every component around it and will be way more likeley to cause complete engine failure than the OEM one.. You also have to keep in mind that the M4 GTS has 500hp from the factory and has the same crank hub as the base M4. In the end it is your decision what you do, but this isnt as simple as replacing rod bearings because they're worn, You are still just as likley to have a failure with a replacment and Its a bigger risk.. I think its just a scare tactic to get people to spend thousands of dollars on something they don't really need.
100% agree. This is the same case as you mentioned as rod bearings on other M’s. Yes some actually do need them replaced but a taken car of one that has had oil changes done very frequently shouldn’t need them at 60,000 miles...like some people do...

Agreed, anytime you modify the engine for more power there’s gonna be a risk. There’s more heat so now buy a CAI/more torque so now your tires melt/etc…dont track it or drive the hell out of it and you’ll be fine.

U would need to uppgrade the boost pipes, cause they are known to crack at stage 2 500hp and up. Since its hard plastic, just keep that in mind. Since u got a bit more torque, i dont this that the cats in the downpipe would get hurt. But recommended to get catless or high flow downpipes. Since the stock ones are very restricted. I know a person that took his m4 non comp to the dyno with stage 2. stock downpipes. Did 460hp to the wheels. God catless and dynoed 510whp. But that was on premium 98 octane that we have in my country.
Haha got a little laugh out of you trippin over the Christmas tree dashboard 😂😂 that’s totally normal bro!! It was just the reprogramming of the car doing it’s thing, it has to happen. For a re-map/tune on any car, once you’re fucking with the ECU, the software has to check any/every available system that could possibly be affected while running. Nothin to stress about! Hey are you catless? I forgot your mods, but I’m assuming so, by the burbles. If you are, did the tuner code out the check engine light? From the O2 sensors? (If you are running catless, which I’m assuming, if you already went to stage 2)
I’m waiting for my 2015 m4 convertible to be delivered. my e46 m3 has pops and burbling due to the straight pipe exhaust. In yours, do you have stock exhaust or aftermarket? Thanks! Cheers on the new tune!

I got the competition bro and I got another friend that has the normal let me tell you sounds a whole lot different in the competition on sport mode without a tune I get the pops and bangs... but I can’t wait to get it tuned 😰

Both cars (M4/8 comp) are super nice and epic, I love them to the end of the world, but both also sound very bad and nothing and or anything can fix them...
