Thank you, Professor for your fascinating lecture, as you have us used to. Dutch Jewry touches me intimately as my grandad was a Dutch Jew who came to the Netherland Antilles and North Venezuela (Coro) where my father was born. Coro has one of the oldest, if not the oldest, sinagogue in South America.

Dr. Henry Abramson, really i respect you , & i love what you provide.
I'm from saudi arabia, and you know there is a great history between Muslims and Jewish more than 1200 years .
And the Arabian Peninsula received Prophet Moses (pbuh) and his followers .
I believe the arabs nations & Jewish are close to each other but politics doesn't help .
Sometimes i got feelings the European And extremist groups put traps between us , honestly i don't know why.
I hope to see the Jewish Historical Library in Arabic language.
Anyway excuse my language doesn't have much vocabulary.

Shalom Dr Abramson, the TaNaKh describes reasons for the dispersal of the Northern, and Southern kingdoms, but I won't go into that here, my given 1st name is due to a fact surrounding the time of my birth, my dad was a long distance lorry driver at that time, and happened to break down in a town in North East of England named Clay Cross, he didn't like popular English boy's names, and decided to give me that name, he wasn't a religious man, but simply liked the name, It caused many problems at school for me, with teachers and fellow pupils, you can imagine the terms used like mud or plasticine, to name two, there were many including the same treatment of my surname, as I tended to want to look through the windows at the sky, as it was more interesting than what the teacher was talking about, I was moved away from the window. Now I look back at those times and smile. With comments like "Are you with us Withers?". Although I will say I often lived in the world of my imagination.
But getting back to the present situation, I wonder if we will be out of our present place we are in within the forseeable future, or will there be another strain. Purely speculation on my part some might think, or even say. But you know those feelings you get, some say gut feeling, or other synonyms to descibe such feelings, however let us hope that it does pass, and folk can get back to relatively normal life once again, though given the pollution factor, there needs to be some serious thinking about this long term.
You're looking very well, and this video attracted my attention concerning the "lost of the House of Israel"; or Ephraim as it was also known.
    Lehitraot.

Here in the UK Menassah ben Israel is only associated with the establishment of a Sephardi community in England. Once that was achieved Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe also came. This predated the big Jewish influx in the 19th and 20th centuries.
I know this because the Welsh side of my family were here before the other side of my family immigrated from the Pale of Settlement in the 1880s.
The overwhelming majority of all Jewish migration headed west rather than to Eretz Yisrael.

If Jews ended up all over Europe after 70ad wouldn’t it be most probable that the Ten lost tribes proceeded them on a similar journey? Also I believe it states in the the NT book of James something about the tribes waring against each other. Do we know where James was proselytizing? Might give a clue to where at least a few of the Tribes were during the first century. Also if we know of a list of known wars occurring during that first century might help in that region where he was would help as well.

I've long been astonished after learning about colonies of Jews living in Japan, China, Burma, India, etc., for centuries. Obviously, not all Jews returned to Palestine from their Assyrian and Babylonian exiles. Some did follow the Horace Greeley maxim, but the majority seemed to either stay put or to strike out in different directions. The Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament documents some of the Jewish settlements outside of Palestine in the First Century.

R’ Menashe Ben Yisrael’s argument was to argue the case to the Protestant Cromwell , that according to scripture the Jews must be scattered to all four corners of the world.
Excluding Jews from The British isles would leave one corner of the world void of the Jews which would hinder the final redemption.
He actually died before he can see his efforts paid off . His body was brought back to Amsterdam were he lays in the Sephardic cemetery.

wesley8173 curious which translation you’re using.וזרעו יהיה מלא גוים.
The English were the first to expel their Jews .
After slaughtering them in Clifford tower in York , pogroms in london. And taxing them to paupers, the Jews were actually relieved for being allowed to leave with barely the clothes on their back.

    • @zafirjoe18
      @zafirjoe18 Před 3 lety +1

wesley8173 interesting , although I checked that translation and it reads a “multitude of nations”.
The following translation is based on midrash.
You see the word מלא means literally full[ness].
“But his father refused, and he said, "I know, my son, I know; he too will become a people, and he too will be great. But his younger brother will be greater than he, and his children['s fame] will fill the nations."
ידעתי בני ידעתי I KNOW IT, MY SON, I KNOW that he is the first-born.
גם הוא יהיה לעם וגם הוא יגדל HE ALSO SHALL BECOME A PEOPLE, AND HE ALSO SHALL BE GREAT, for of him will be born Gideon through whom the Holy One, blessed be He, will perform a miracle.
ואולם אחיו הקטן יגדל ממנו BUT TRULY HIS YOUNGER BROTHER SHALL BE GREATER THAN HE - for of him will be born Joshua who will make Israel inherit the land of Canaan and will instruct them in the Torah
וזרעו יהיה מלא הגוים AND HIS SEED SHALL BECOME A MULTITUDE OF NATIONS (more lit, shall fill the nations) - the fame and renown of his seed, Joshua, will spread abroad and fill the whole world when he will make the sun stand still upon Gibeon and the moon in the valley of Aijalon (Rash”I).
Interestingly, when numbering the males over 20 who entered the Holy Land, the members of the tribe of Menashe outnumbered those of Ephrayim by 52.700 to 32.500. (Numbers 26,34-36.) If we keep this in mind we may have to redefine the meaning of the word יגדל when used by Yaakov not as referring to numerical strength, but as referring to the great men produced by each of these tribes and the relative importance of these men. We know that Moses’ successor, Joshua, was from the tribe of Ephrayim. He was a great saviour, and conquered the land of Canaan enabling the promise of G’d to the patriarchs to finally become realised. The tribe of Ephrayim also provided the first king of the 10 tribes who had split away from Solomon’s son Rechavam after the death of Solomon. Furthermore, throughout the history of the Jewish people until the destruction of the first Temple the political rivalry between Ephrayim and Yehudah is well documented, whereas hardly ever is Menashe mentioned as playing a major part in this. When the prophet Isaiah prophesied an idyllic future, he described this as being characterised by the end of the rivalry between Ephrayim and Yehudah. (Isaiah 11,13). (Radak )

I read that many Jews didn’t go back to Israel when the time came but they stayed in the lands where they were and were the developers of irrigation and trade, and so blessed thos countries. This is just going to simply what is being mixed with lies and truth. So first, the nation of Yasharahl by the lineage of Abraham Isaac and Jacob were all dark skin people genetically and all the ancient lineages as well. Two, the reason why you find artifacts of Mesopotamia in the Americas is because the lineages of the 3 sons of Noah originated in the Americas, the Decalogue in Tennessee and the copper stone in Michigan were found written in indo-Canaanite Hebrew, and Michigan has the most abundant of copper found on earth, also Illinois has been found with Punic-Phoenician script and also Roman script in Burrows cave in southern Illinois. Three, the Torah does not mention nothing about my no Judaic, no Rabbi nor any other fake convergence of terms except HEBREW, if you not a Hebrew Israelite you’re not the children of the book. Abraham is Hebrew and so are ALL his descendants. The indigenous people that were in the Americas were all darkskin people and so were the Spanish Inquisition due do SPAIN and EUROPE being influenced by MOORS for over 711 years from Visigoth.
