  • This one is a little in the weeds as far as info but tune in and maybe learn ya something.
Also comment down below, what other Holley Efi videos do you want to see me cover. Im not promising ill do them all but i am always looking for more topics in an effort to help yall with your hotrods and Holley Efi
Also dont forget to support those that support you.

Even when your videos don't pertain to me or my customers...yet, I always find your videos super informative and helpful. No b.s. just right to the point with simple explanations. Thanks Devin

So many myths and wrong info about efficiency around

Itd be interesting to see exhaust backpressure as well. In similar scenerios If adding more dome pressure works to bring the boost back up its also possible that the turbine side is restricting at high rpm, pushing the wastegate open. If its an option, going to a bigger turbine housing or turbine wheel could be helpful and make more power up top too. That is a cool offset table to adjust boost.

Glad to see that offset issue get someone else's way. Believe it only happens on scaling offsets and it sucks if you don't catch it.
This way will stop it from taking a compete dive on you, but will never actually get you to the goal as it only adds while it's off and goes away as the offset corrects if does bring it back the other way at all. I had no issues setting up the Holley Map boost control pretty quickly and had no issues with on a friends car. Of course you have to do it all again after major changes to the combo.

Junkyard LS here. Thank you for all the tech tips. Id like more of the same but more towards us poors with the terminator. I also really like it when you bash john doc.

I build and tune Muscle cars and street rods for people in my area. I install Sniper on almost all of them. Even though we are at opposite ends of the Holley spectrum, I always learn from you Devin. Thanks dude.

I feel like the better way to do the 2D table would be target dome on one axis then boost instead of boost time. That’s how I have mine for a 1:1 boost spool up. That way you don’t have to change the table numbers every pass. If you want to make 50lbs, the table will follow according.

Shoot, I'm slapping all that straight into my bone stock junkyard 5.3! We gonna go fast!!! 😂
Seriously though, Great info. Just so happens that we have swapped cam for this season and will now be going over data a little more closely. With any luck we'll be testing this weekend. Thanks!!

Boost offset table looks like it might introduce some oscillation. You would probably get much more consistent results from eMap vs rpm. using the value you are trying to offset as an axis will cause a moving target. definitely getting more air into the exhaust with that cam change, its gotta be going somewhere

So why not just use the map and dome control method and let a second pid just control your dome to reach your target? Seems like a better method than goofing around with this

Awesome video!! Do you ever use a fuel pressure compensation table? I use one on my supercharged ls with a fuel pump that can't quite keep up in upper rpm. In my mind it reacts quicker than closed loop would. Thanks Devin.

Are you at the limit of the turbo compressor? Engine being more efficient means it shifts to the right on the compressor map.

    • @theholleyefiguy
      @theholleyefiguy  Před 2 měsíci +1

No it will make a good bit more boost just will require keeping the gates shut a little longer

Could you not just use map based option and zero out the pid and build a table that way to add more dome to hit the target boost
