"There's no sexy answers, but that's the ugly truth" - that hit hard. 41 years old, 1 year in, hoping to hit the 1000 pounds club today(!) and always overeager to hit a new PR every session. This video taught me I need to be more patient. Don't think of tomorrow, but 5-10 years from now. Holy shit, then I'll be 50. But 50 and ripped as a MF. I like the sound of that :) Thank you so much for this

Not gonna lie, I come back to this video regularly to keep me focused where I need to be. This video is super helpful for helping me keep my eyes on the prize. Thanks Bryce

I strongly agree with the "Learn how your body moves" statement. All the "How to" videos and different ideas on models of how a lift should work, cues that allege to be THAT ONE TRICK THAT SOLVES YOUR STRUGGLE are absolutely worthless if you don't learn how to move your body according to YOUR body.

This video speaks so much truth. An aspect that you didn't touch on that I think is important is that a lot of people continually search for the "perfect program" that'll guarantee them
a massive increase on their squat, bench and deadlift. Everyone is different, therefore just because someones program worked for your friend doesn't mean it'll give you the same effects. It's more important to understand your body, and what works for you. And that takes 5-10 years minimum.

Props to you and Dillon for making this video. I've watched it multiple times now and it really hits home. 2 years ago I starting working out in my last year of highschool and made good progress in a few months, but eventually fell off the wagon. I exercised rarely and sporadically until 2 months ago, where I've finally gotten back into the game for a solid 2 months. I'm lifting numbers past me wouldn't believe while still feeling like I'm not progressing enough in the same lifts or other lifts. Part of it is that desire to make up for lost time and part of it is that desire to reach that ideal image of myself quicker, even though I'm aware of and constantly telling myself that it's a journey, not a race, that it's okay to take time, and that there'll be hitches along the way, but it still kind of bothers me. This video was a reminder to take a step back and realize that lifting and physique progress, like many other life stuff, takes consistent effort, time, and most importantly patience with yourself.
Genuinely appreciate what you guys do, this video and this channel is gold.

Tell it like it is! Awesome! Even just going beyond "early intermediate" for most people even takes so much more work than the average person seems to realise. Then they think they are doing something wrong that they can't break the plateau: nope; it IS that hard to make progress. This had to be said and honestly, who better to say it. Thanks for taking the time to set the record straight. People need to hear this from an elite rockstar powerlifter like yourself, Bryce, because no one seems to believe it otherwise.

Best video I've seen in awhile. I fully agree. As a guy that is getting stronger lots of kids and people my age ask me how to get big, how to get strong expecting a cookie cutter answer. You said it exactly everyone is responsible for knowing and learning their own body in this sport. Everyone needs to take months and years learning how to move and running through all different types of training to see what works. Love this video.

I've been competing in powerlifting for a little over a year and a half now - currently in the JR 105 kg class right now but will EVENTUALLY and UNFORTUNATELY be in the Open category which is where I'll be competing against this monster of a lifter.. I know, RIP in pepperonies... But in all seriousness, seeing the older footage of Bryce in past meets, this video has got me believing that I can some day progress to the same level as Bryce both in strength and knowledge. I know I'm still considered a newbie to the sport but there have been far too many training sessions where I'd be thinking about when it's going to be my time to attempt World Records. This video has lead me to believe that I can and has shown me what it takes to do so. Thank you

While you answered the crux of all those questions, it is still interesting just the same to hear the things you've done V the things you do now and how YOU evolved as a lifter.
