- The iconic Prince Airstick 130, made famous by the ‘Artist’ Ramy Ashour (one of my very favourite players).
Lots of hints and tips, as this is a racket where attention to detail and precision are of key importance to stringing it correctly.
Things to look out for:
- Hard weaves at head and throat
- Correct use of the double barrelled grommets
- Alternating the up and unders on power ring
- Avoiding crossing strings on outside of frame
Jon, you saved me! Thanks a ton for taking the time to do these!
I've been stringing rackets for about 10 years now and at work, we dont have a new stringing machine like this so i can just sit on youtube watching these for hours :D We sell a few Dunlop rackets (dont remember the models) that have you stringing 2 in the same hole and you gotta jump over some holes at the top, back and forth, they drive me crazy :D
Ah yes, the shared grommets. Quite common now - Eye Rackets have a few modes like this as well as Head’s AFP pattern. Trick is to make sure the strings don’t cross over. Can be fiddly though! Good to test yourself though!
Iconic racket - great video 👍
Own this racquet, it is a beast.
Wish you had done this video two weeks ago. Just finished Technifibre with Power ring. Took me about three hours!
Give me a shout if you ever need any pointers 👍
@@stringdoctor6238 thanks. Appreciate that.. Only just started and seem to have landed a few tricky rackets. Someone gave me an eforce Bedlam RB Racket. I mean, if you can do that you can do anything right 😂
@@simondennis101 ha ha, yes - RB rackets are the proving ground for stringers! This racket, the airstick, is a good example of needing to plan, and know about several different things.
Do you string the Pro Warrior 600 in the same way like the Prince AirStick 130 or like the Prince Pro Beast and Pro Shark?
Hi there, they all have slight differences, but those that only have 14 mains have to have the mains starting at the throat instead of the head (16). All should be strung as a two piece with crosses starting at head and all should finish on a hard weave 👍
What length of string are you using for the mains and crosses, respectively?
Hi there, I use 6 Arm Spans in total (about 9.5 metres, I’m about 188cm tall) and use just under 4 arm spans for mains and just over 2 arm spans for crosses.
I hate stringing prince rackets I hope they go bust soon so no one brings anymore
They're not too bad once you get used to them. Personally I like having the more challenging frames 👍
@@stringdoctor6238 Thanks for making the vid helped me out , Id started wrong now I know what to do cheers
