  • how to cook rice in pressure cooker for beginners, bachelor cooking, student cooking, beginner friendly easy way to cook rice in pressure cooker.
    ingredients:
    1/2 cup raw rice (I used organic hand pound nattu ponni rice)
    1 cup water
    NOTES:
    Always make sure the gasket is rinsed before cooking.
    Check the hob and make sure it is clean.
    Keep the weight on the hob only after steam starts to come so that you can make sure that the hob is clear.
    You can cook basmati rice or any variety of rice in this method
    If you like to add salt, you can add 1/2 tsp pink himalayan salt
    Its ideal to soak the rice a little bit before cooking however if you soak it for a longer time then 1- 2 whistles may be needed.

    Frankly I don't know how to cook, my mom tried teaching me but never took learning seriously! Today I am married and staying away with my wife!! She always takes care of my food. But for 2 days she went on a trip and I am here dependent on YT for cooking. This video helped me to revise my basics which my mom taught me!
    Moral :- All boys should learn basic cooking at least when mom / wife tries to teach!!

    • @Anione111
      @Anione111 Před 6 měsíci +1

      In India we mostly use the kind of pressure cooker shown in the video. It has served the 1.4 billion population of rice eaters for more than 50 years. It works well on gas stoves, and in India we are less reliant on electricity for cooking, as it is in short supply and we face a lot of power outages on a daily basis. So this design stems from necessity as well. If you can, get yourself one from an Indian store in Montreal. It is very efficient and can be used on different burners depending on the specific design. We go by whistles, you will find it mentioned in most Indian cooking vlogs. It is a foolproof method while using such pressure cookers.
      Can't really answer your question as it would depend on the level of the burner, size of the cooker, etc.

  • @bhaskarseal
    @bhaskarseal Před rokem

    Wrong concept altogether.
    All you need to do is lower the flame after the first whistle. Then on the slow flame keep it on for the next 3-4 mins or so. Both the quantity of water and the time after the first whistle needs to be adjusted with the different quality of rice.
