As a fan I absolutely dread deadwood footballers putting in performances like these frauds do every dozen games or so. Fans get giddy and gassed and it masks the fact they’ve been rubbish the previous 11 games. Bruno is a stat padder of a baller, but at the end of the day what success has he been part of? Importantly at 30 is he the guy to build your team around? He’s such a vital number 10 according to some that ETH has deployed him at right wing and also played Weighorst ahead of Bruno in 10. I totally agree, Bruno at city or Madrid would be hard to stop, but at Utd he’s surrounded by dead players and he’s forced into these Hollywood balls or long range punts and he just doesn’t suit Utd at this time and this is the reason I’d sell him in the summer, his value is as high as it will ever likely be, plus we need the money to strengthen in defence.
i see your argument, but can we really risk not having him? adam put out a stat that Bruno has had 25 goal involvements this season, more than odegaard and debruyne (altho he missed alot of the season). I think bruno is our most important player in this current mess where the manager sends 11 people on the pitch and tells them to enjoy themselves, anyway its all opinions, one day we will be back at the top
If I can point out one thing it’s this, Rashford had a fluke season last year, Utd had a 1.5 goal per game average, this season with Bruno 25 goal involvement as you say, Utd have a 1.5 goal per game average. There’s not one fan arguing that we can’t do without Rashfords goals and the stats prove that we are no worse off without them, so to answer your question on can we do without Bruno’s 25 goal involvements, I would say if you factor in what goals against he’s cost us, his actual time on the pitch even being played out of position and the fact that our goals per game under ETH is 1.5, then I would confidently say yes we could risk not having him. He’s a good player in a bang average and what is proven to be a mid table side. I believe we will be back at the top but not with Bruno, Rashford or ETH unfortunately. The first thing we need to do is build a team that is consistent, then that consistency should get us challenging for top 4 again, then we add the special players to take us from top 4 challengers to title challengers. What we have are 1 maybe 2 top 4 players, about a dozen or so mid table players and then the rest are players that should be playing for clubs in the bottom half of the premier league or Championship lets be honest.
We're talking Sheffield! The number 20 in the premier league! Not City or Arsenal! I think every player has to prove in the remaining games why they should wear the Man Utd shirt next season!
How is there going to be a clearout? United won't be able to get a lot of these players out. They'll just sit on their contracts like Maguire and McTominay did last year.
Bruno was good but it's Sheffield United. Bruno has to go for me. We could get some good money for him in the summer. Saudi Arabia want him, I say 45 million. He's nearly 30 get him gone now. We have no leadership in the pitch. It's when we are playing the top teams that Bruno is nowhere to be seen. People remember the goals he scored, he scored a beauty tonight. It's his overall play that's the problem, he's just not good enough to lead you to titles. We need the level of the Arsenal captain, he's what I call a leader. He is truly world class. We played Coventry and got lucky. He was crap like all the other players on that day. We need to off load players like him before they hit 30 if we are to really challenge. He's not elite and we need elite. I am for total change as soon as possible. I am saying he's not a leader, I agree with Bryan Robson one of our greatest leaders and players.
