- In this video I'm in Pescara, an Italian town and capital of the homonymous province in Abruzzo. In the most central and historical area of Castellammare Adriatico, along Corso Umberto I, you will find Piazza del Sacro Cuore (formerly Piazza Mercato or Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II) where the parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands. It is one of the historical testimonies and most important artistic churches in the city of Pescara and is the third most important church in the city, after the Cathedral of San Cetteo and the Sanctuary of the Madonna dei Sette Dolori. In 2016 it was elevated to the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy by the diocese of Pescara-Penne, to which it belongs.
The church was built, in neo-Romanesque style, on a project by the architect Porta di Torino, starting from 1886, as a new parish, replacing the old church of Sant'Anna, in viale Bovio, which has become too small for the growing population of the city . The majestic and mighty side bell tower was completed only in 1934 but was damaged due to the bombing of the Second World War.
The church has a neo-Gothic style basilica plan and was conceived as a scenographic closure of one of the vertices of the homonymous square. The brick facade is characterized by a tripartition in the vertical sense. The median zone, distinctly emerging, together with the salients and the angular cusps, gives it an effect of considerable momentum and anticipates the internal structure. In the center is the splayed round arch with the artistic rose window below. The main entrance portal, with a mosaic lunette, is decorated with late medieval motifs such as twisted columns. The side walls open through polychrome windows. The internal environment develops in three naves punctuated by Gothic beam pillars that support slender ribbed cross vaults. The central nave culminates with the semicircular apse embellished with an ancient mosaic depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus and slender windows in Romanesque style.
The bell tower, remodeled after the war, is shown in a pseudo-medieval brick style with four clock faces, one on each side. The belfry is framed in white stone, with four corner cusps. On it rises an octagonal drum, porticoed with windows, surmounted by a conical spire.
The belfry hosts a concert of 4 bells, electrified in a momentum system. They were recast and returned following the requisition order imposed during the Second World War for the huge requests for bronze for the guns. The shapes and the engraving with the number of the recast series, shown on the third bell, suggest that the bells are the work of the Mari brothers from Lanciano. The audiovisual material of this video consists of the initial outdoor and indoor footage taken in 2020 and the shooting of the bells between 2016 and 2017. The resumption of these rings required a lot of care and research since in the years preceding the battiore was marked by the mushroom and the rings with real bells were accompanied by the expanses reproduced by the mushroom. Unfortunately, the unfolding of the fourth bell was not fully resumed from the beginning and was rebuilt in the editing program. For some years the bells have stopped and do not even ring with touches; I heard the battiore and the evening Ave Maria with the mushroom. I do not know the precise reasons for this provision.

La somiglianza è davvero minima. La terza campana è un semitono più grave della maggiore di San Lorenzo a Perugia.

Il video e la miniatura sono stratosferici! Quanto erano belle le campane...Riascoltarle dopo tanto tempo mi ha fatto venire i brividi, mi mancavano...Il loro inconfondibile suono mi ha fatto ricordare quando ero piccolo e appena sentivo il tocco della piccola che iniziava a suonare mio padre mi prendeva in braccio e ci precipitavamo sotto al campanile per vederle! Peccato che adesso siano ridotte in tali condizioni...Mi dispiace troppo...Quindi le campane sono Mari confermate. La chiesa è una delle più belle di tutta la città. Non sono mica nato ieri eh 😂 Ringrazia Dio che nascono ancora bambini che si appassionano alle campane...sempre che esse non diventino giocattoli. Le campane delle chiese sono prima di tutto sacre e poi sono degli strumenti musicali magnifici che meritano rispetto e cura per la funzione che svolgono.
Quindi ora le campane non funzionano piu'?

@@campanaro9650 La mia risposta è più che chiara. Le campane purtroppo non suonano più ma le motivazioni precise non le conosco e questo non è il luogo adatto per approfondire questi particolari.
@@ReporterAGABRIELEBENVENUTO certo che Pescara a livello di campane sta peggiorando, queste non suonano quelle del cuore immacolato nemmeno, le altre non lo so.
Ma una cosa... ho visto una diretta su fb qualche mese fa sulle campane della torre civica che hanno suonato venti minuti di fila a scampanio, ne sai qualcosa?
Purtroppo è l'amara realtà campanaria di Pescara. Andrebbe risollevata e valorizzata. Sulla suonata della torre civica non ne sapevo niente.
