This RC plane hasn't flown for 30 years

- Bill dragged this old RC plane out of his collection and gave it a re-maiden after 30 years of hangar-time. More fun, frivolity and mayhem from the Tokoroa Airfield on the first weekend of the Southern summer and this time you get to see the entire "police visit" footage as well.
As a frostbitten northerner I appreciate your flying the right way up for once ;)

I drove through Tokoroa on Sunday, but the weather was horrible so i didn't stop in, maybe next time. Just moved to New Zealand from Australia and been watching your videos for some time now, so am keen to visit.
At that 5:22 mark I am sure someone will claim Bill was to close to a manned aircraft and call the CAA...LOL
Flies pretty good for a brushed Nicad setup, well for a while anyway. Nice flying day there, setting here (in NY state) @ -12c. I enjoy watching your channel thru the winter here, makes me want spring all the more. Only 5 more months to go...
no model was brushed and nicad powered but is now powered with 3cell brushless set up

that is what i had done and that was the fist flight since the early 90s but it took a bit to get correct CG

Nice video and entertaining too. Please be careful of that jet with the prop on the back you don't chop your launching arm completely off. You know how I hate the sight of blood at the flying field. I have kevlar gloves that I wear around the planes now. I guess I don't have to explain why. Cheers from cold wet snowy Newfoundland Canada.
You should film a bit of the drag racing for us next time. You literally have the best camera tracking on the tubes so should be excellent as usual

Bill is a crazy pilot that is well skilled. So.. is this a Mig 29 or a Flanker.. or their forbidden child - the Su-29 Fulflanker.

I referred to "The CZcams guide to success" and it said "use edgy music" so I selected that track from the copyright-free CZcams music library. Surely CZcams knows what it's doing... right? 😀

Dji has done something amazing with thier video transmission and video recording equipment... why is it nobody else seems capable of figuring it out.
DJI is an absolutely massive company thanks to their drones, orders of magnitude larger than any other company in the model aviation world. They have a lot of money to expend on R&D, customized hardware, etc. Most RC companies don't have that kind of money.

30 years? Impossible... there're aren't any electric rc jets in 1992 !!!
no it is a push prop jet and it was powered hot rc buggy brushed motor and 7cell NM battery but now I have re powered it with brushless motor a ESC AND 1800 3cell so no no impossible at all 😊😊cheers

Nah... it's one I bought and paid for myself and I drag it out once or twice a year to check on the state of my shaky thumbs. You're right, shipping would be far more than the cost of buying a new one. Last time I sent a small box 100g to the USA it cost me NZ$70 to do so using the cheapest track & trace service available. Crazy!

I'm no fan of vulgar cRAP music either. Still it's sad that you know how to pull up CZcams videos but haven't found that you can pause them by hitting the space bar or mute them by hitting the "M" key? Perhaps get the kids to show you?
