I've been playing dark magician for the last 3 years and the deck needs a main deck dragon, some sort of starter card like a field spell that searches and provides backrow protection, and maybe a link that lets you go into the rituals from the deck.
Great suggestions! Most competitive modern archetypes do indeed have a powerful field spell so that one really stood out to me in this archetype needing one

I've been playing this since 2014 and always thought it could use a link monster within the archetype and I have a feeling it would never happen but get Magi Magi Magician Gal in TCG

The deck would do really well with its own archetype misc, protecting against HTs and negates while also being a starter.

This was an informative and well done video!
Field and the main deck dragon were mentioned, and they both recently arrived in the form of Timaeus the Dragon of Destiny, and Magician Salvation. It also got an amazing new searcher. At this point, I think all that is left is a DM+generic fiend combination and retrains of the other D&D/MTG/Final Fantasy-eque monsters Yugi used as support for DM, not unlike the also new Dark Master of Chaos. Smaller monsters to help the gameplay along and make any combination of cards workable. Yugi's deck is just full of bricks due to being from an older era that did not follow the current game rules. Reworking older spell/trap cards into low level monsters would do the trick.

The one upside Dark Magic Attack got over Harpie's Feather Duster is the fact that's it searchable by Eternal Soul, Magician's Rod and other Dark Magician support cards.

Nah, we already have dragun and arguably dark cavalry. What we need is a starter card and some sort of main deck dragon
I'm 28 now and started playing since the games release. Wow that 21 years of dueling.
Are you able to go over deck set ups? Like if you do the blue eyes can you say what champions used what version of that card?
I would prefer seeing OCG videos like this, where the early card releases makes more sense and some more emphasis on the fun aspects that you did with the OTK mentioning, but not the Dark Sage, how is Time Wizard not fun?
I would like to see Dark Magician and other normal monsters to be easy to summon one offs where you could add cards that list their names in the card text adding them as sides to your engine.

I want some of the remaining Dark Magician support cards to be printed with buffed effects. Generally I don't think there is much in terms of support I want for Dark Magician anymore. More generic cards that help it out. Moreso I feel cards getting adapted and maybe some more crossover fusions such as Black Luster Soldier Magician, Red-Eyes Dark Magician, Dark Magicians or Dark Magician stealing Gaia's horse. Heck, we got Magician of Black Magic riding Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
Maybe support that let's it set some of the iconic cards from the anime directly into the field. Like some card that let's you summon Dark Magician and immediately after that effect resolves set a Magic Cylinder, Mirror Force, Monster Reborn from your deck to your side to the field. Maybe print the monster Mahad used when he was introduced. Not sure what effect they could give it.
I would have liked Darkflare Knight and Mirage Knight to become his own archetype. Moving away from their reliance from Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman.
Timaeus support would be nice too. Specifically I feel the legendary dragons need as an archetype need massive support as there seems to be insentive to run all 3 but they are not compatible with each other. Maybe we can get Chaos Magician the Dragon Knight (without having Black Magician of Chaos as fusion material as Timaeus doesn't support Chaos Magician).
I want to see Sorcerer Of Dark Magician get an errata where so you can special summon him by either tributing 2 level 6 or higher Spellcaster monsters or one Dark Magician. It is integral that almost every support card going forward specifically lists "Dark Magician" exactly in it's card next because the decks biggest strength is how searchable it is. Sorcerer Of Dark Magician would be good for trap focused decks if only it were easier to summon.
Dark magician needs a thunderspeed summon like card to work with the Egyptian gods

Dark magician dragon knight protects your eternal soul, only way they can get rid of it is if they use something that destroys all your backrow. Tends to be a game winner most of the time, and if you put something like power of guardians on dragon knight even if your soul gets destroyed you can keep it on the field

@@DeltaShinyZeta I will be eagerly awaiting it to drop 🙌🏽👏🏽😄. I would suggest waiting until they reveal what the VJMP-JP028 Chronicle Magician’s effect is since it’s supposed to have this strong synergy with Dark Magician and all.
Strange. A lot of the 2019 cards in this video are quite good in master duel. Try getting over a DM Dragon Knight with Moon Mirror Shield while Eternal Soul is up. You really have very little options against that.

What the DM archetype has focused on is unfortunately named DM and DMG rather than a named archetype a solution to this is alternatives like Blue-Eyes that get treated as the original on the field or graveyards. They would also need special summons from hand effects.
For spell and trap an improvement or a new use is interruptions similar to combination but this makes it more of a gimmick.
Overall while DM has come a long way, they’re nowhere near viable and at best is a shitty rogue deck. With recent support giving only one good card it’ll be sometime score DM finds their footing as an archetype with one goal.
