    TODAY'S VIDEO:
    I couldn’t quite believe what I was hearing when Martin Kennedy, the Director of the National Farmers’ Union of Scotland, blatantly lied on television, stating that the standard practices I had just described didn’t happen in the UK. It’s hardly surprising that he would feel the need to lie, considering that what we do to animals is so horrific, a point made by the presenter. Interestingly, after I called Martin out for lying, he then backtracked on his statement, claiming that he didn’t actually say what he had said and that instead he had said that what happens to animals is not brutal and is done in their best interest. A slight 180 from him agreeing that what happens to animals is horrific.
    Unfortunately, lying is something that animal farmers are used to doing. In fact, Martin made many outlandish claims that were simply untrue throughout the whole segment. The problem animal farmers find themselves in is that the truth is not what they want it to be, and if they were to accept the truth they would then need to acknowledge the harm and damage their industries cause and then change as a result. So instead, it’s easier for them to ignore the reality of what they do and then lie in the hope that they can spread enough disinformation to confuse and gaslight consumers.

      @caliskaterboy626 Pƙed 2 lety +4

      @@berniv7375 I agree Berni. I hadn’t thought about the irony of that until you mentioned it! The fact that the vast majority of animals are factory farmed is something I have to emphasize when I’m talking to people during outreach. Most people don’t know the extent of the suffering until we inform them. Even non-factory farm style animal agriculture involves mutilation, exploitation, and death so it’s best to eat plant-based to reduce the suffering and death.

    • @caliskaterboy626
      @caliskaterboy626 Pƙed 2 lety +2

      @Felip E Thanks for sharing! I do wonder if the primary reason women are living longer than men is due to dietary factors, among others. More often than not, men do consume more animal flesh than women, partially due to societal norms and an obsession with protein. This is something I’m interested to know more about now that you bring it up.
      My grandpa was not intentionally vegan (in fact he was a rancher at one point) but as he got into his 80s, he was known to live on bananas and peanut butter. Grandma made lots of red meat but died in her 80s of cancer. According to my dad and his siblings, when she died, grandpa didn’t cook and would just eat bananas and peanut butter for days until one of the family members would make something else. I can’t be certain, but I believe this was a factor in why he lived well into his 90s. Generally centenarians primarily consume whole-food plant-based, but with around 5% of calories coming from primarily fish. It varied on the region but we do see the trend that more plant-based leads to lower all-cause mortality rates. The science is clear. Unfortunately there are so many bogus studies coming out which are statistically manipulated and/or paid for by agriculture industries to confuse people. Most people don’t actually look at the original research study, look at the sources cited, look who funded the study, etc. There’s so many ridiculous videos here on CZcams spreading lies about veganism. It’s sad people are believing those.

      Dealing with this scenario with people again and again, you begin to recognize that by giving into "dis-ease" (by leaning into that anger) it makes the situation itself worse, and you are left with this mess. Rather than plaguing circumstance in this way, staying centered by seeing things for what they are, and coming at things objectively is more beneficial. Even if the other person maintains a delusional state, YOU conduct the awareness to know within your Self what is true.
      Trust, frustration arises lol... but giving into that frustration is giving power to the delusion. By that, it now is having its pull on you, even if we arent deceived by it's original premise.
