I was a deputy in Washington county Maine during the big year 2000 "end of the world" scare. There was scuttlebutt going around at the time that Our sheriff had received a federal request to verify his cooperation if this event led to the disarmament of the citizens of the U.S.A.
Sheriff Tibbetts was a Marine lieutenant that had served two tours in Viet Nam, was a state trooper until retirement, then became Sheriff.
He replied that when disarmament was necessary he would deputize every citizen in Washington county and be sure they were armed.

When the federal trade commission admits to collecting data from your vehicle, smart phone, smart tv, smart appliance, you should know they monitor credit and debit card purchases. The wife and myself bought 4 boxes of ammunition last weekend at a farm supply store in eastern Oklahoma and they had to have a name and date of birth with a cash transaction. With a debit or credit card they don’t ask, that tells the whole story.

We sell ammunition online, we had to search and go through many credit card processing companies before we found one that only list our sales as sporting and outdoor goods. We also were turned down by many financial institutions just because we sell ammunition online. Our system does not track nor keep buyers information on file.

I'll buy too!
I don't buy ammo and if I did I would pay cash.
No CC company should be allowed to request a red flag on anyone.
Credit card companies ARE red flags.
Lol I guarantee the sheriff's department has a STACK of paperwork on me. When i found out that buying two firearms within a week of each other throws up a red flag, it bothered me. Im a citizen with no criminal record, and ive paid taxes since my first job back in the 80s. So, i stated buying more firearms and ammo by the case and busting off tannerite almost daily on my property (stump removal). Its amazing how many L.E.O.s now ride past my place daily abd even follow me into local markets! In the meantime, theres all sorts of actual illegal criminal activity happening in the area thats not even being addressed. What a strange time to live in.
That is why I will wait a week between purchases so a report is not sent to local PD and ATF.
Cops go after window tint and petty noise complaints while ignoring actual criminals for the same reason PETA throws paint on on ladies in fur coats while ignoring bikers in leather.

If your going to buy a gun or ammo stop by the bank or ATM first. you can always put what you don't spend back. It's also a good idea to make friends with the owners or employees of a small gun shop or pawn shop. so if you find something online you want they can order it in the shop's name, if its a gun you still have to do the paperwork and you may have to pay a transfer fee but is better than the bank giving your info to someone you do not want to have it.
I buy 95% of my ammo/guns online. Unless a Brick & Mortar has something unique. Most of my local places gouged the hell out of people during the pandemic. Usually stuff is about 1/2 to 2/3 the cost online vs local, if I'm patient and shop right. And many places don't charge CC fee or state tax if you know where to look.
Sometimes, I had a new gun owner ask about a colt m4...then 2 weeks later a colt m4 came in for transfer ( cost, tax shipping transfer fee ) he paid 250 more then the one on wall.

Especially if they start losing people from their push to confiscate. This ain't true about all places. Some will say no way am I taking guns from Americans but I'm sure some gung-ho law enforcement might try. In a push like that, these Leo's will have to make a choice where they are going to stand. A national push will bring about a response from Americans. There will be losses on both sides and ultimately the private citizens should win. Yep, Idaho Central Credit Union released new terms of service a few days ago. It listed buying firearms, ammo, and a few other items as prohibited uses for any accounts.
I'm sure there are algorythms for our buying habits. They can guess fairly well at what guns we have and how many by our shooting habits and how much ammo we buy. Most sheriffs don't look at the info from CC companies, but are required to file the info in case of an emergency at your house. I’ve bought .22LR by the 10s of thousands, .223 and 9mm by the thousand and hundreds of rounds of .308, .25-06, .44 magnum every so often. But I live in Appalachia where we can walk out back and shoot/plink for fun.
me too, amen for appallachia
Sad, but true. Cash is King! Cheers!
Absolutely!!!
Didn't know you were so close. I spent 95% of my life in Jackson County not too far now, tho in Johnson County love the video's keep it up brother
I only pay cash for ammo or barter.
The county where I am moving has a sheriff that asks people “Do you have a gun?” If you say “no”, he will tell you that you need to buy one and practice with it.
In NJ every ammo purchase is sent to police departments thanks to the governor and Dems in power.
Does this concern extend to debit cards? Thanks for all your videos. I watch every one. Just never commented before today. 👍👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Absolutely.yes it does.
Just use cash
use debit cards in someone elses name with permission of course, my ex girlfriend can give 2 squirts of piss, and send it to said persons house, @ let it burn and rebuild i agree with you but disagree as well.....
It's a bit more complicated than that. As of the time of this video, credit card companies are assigning codes to retailers that "primarily" sell firearms. What that means for now is that you shouldn't worry about buying ammo at Cabela's, Scheels, Bass Pro, etc. since these sell all types of sporting goods. There's no way they can tell whether you bought $3,000 worth of guns and ammo or if you bought a Kevlar Canoe.
I was laughed at for telling people not to give out their finger print, eyeball scan or facial recognition, especially for ammo out of a vending machine. I’ll wait.
I have stopped ordering reloading components online just for this reason. When I travel I look for a place I can purchase them in person with cash
Stop being afraid of “them”
It’s not about being afraid of them or anybody…it’s just about being smart.
If you carry a cell phone. Your being tracked.
Greetings from Jackson county as well! You are 100% correct. Purchase more than 1 firearm in a day and even the retail stores MUST inform the local sheriff. Had this confirmed by the gentleman behind the counter at academy sports…..that’s cash/card/whathaveyou payment method. Very disheartening. Anyhow, get ahold of me if you’d like to visit a bit with another like minded fella with some insight. Good luck and god bless
I remember signing a register for ammo in New Mexico in the early 80s.
The government knowing about your gun ownership, depends on whether you bought it before or after the background checks were initiated (and whether you have a CCP - don't have to do background check if you have one). The government isn't supposed to keep track of this, they're supposed to vet sales and if you're approved lose the record of you purchasing it. However the DEA has shown that they're keeping those records and building a gun registry, by using information that could only come from such a registry.
Thanks for all your excellent work & videos; you are deeply appreciated, Sir.
What about Discover Card? You mentioned them (in passing, it seemed) along with MC, VISA & AMX, but are they also involved in this?
In California, it doesn't matter if you use cash or card, you have to do a background check, to purchase ammo. They charge you an additional $1 to process your background check. A Federal judge, ruled it unconstitutional, but the d's and the 9th Circuit, don't seem to recognize the US Constitution.
I went into a shop the other day and they said that they only except cards no cash. Makes sense what you are saying “we the people by the people for the people “
I had to notify the sheriff when I got my suppressor. Already on a list
When I heard you say " we take prayer request," you had me.
This is true for other forms of electronic payment as well like PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, CashApp, etc, etc. Pay with cash or barter for precious metals (Gold/silver coins) with your gun/ammo dealer.
I remember when I first started buying guns in Jackson county . you had to buy the gun, take all the info to the sheriff and get a permit to buy
i live in NYS , we have to get a background check each time we buy ammo. Our "Attorney General" james threatened Pennsylvania from selling to NYS residents not to sell to us. i never bought any ammo before i got a pistol with anything other than cash
