There's an influx of new viewers every time a tournament approaches-- especially CR Cup since it's an intersection of different HUGE communities (utaite/vtuber/gamers/tournament casual viewers), but it also means more bad crops harvested.

All the comments in black were written in impolite form (short to say, rude and crossing the line. This is something lost in translation since English doesn't have polite and impolite forms) and if they were trying to criticize them 'properly', they would've long addressed them politely.

but for haters/spams, he lets them be and waits excitedly just to see
how long do they last.
kinda proud of soraru-san's and his listeners' 'through skill', if you see when his stream got spams or haters in the chat, neither of them care or talking about it; i believe soraru-san read it but he rarely blocked them, so listeners just silently blocked/report it themselves.
by this i just want to say to international listeners, if you come to soraru-san's (or maybe anyone's) stream, please follow each streamers chat rule and not making more ruckus just because of spam/haters, or making direct conversation in the chat column.

Here some explanation(i copy it from someone and change it a little so you can understand the context) about Mafumafu's past. I will give the source at the end.
Ok, here's what I understand of the situation. Back when Mafu was first starting out as a singer, he was very trusting and gave out his personal information and showed his face a lot. When he got more popular, people began to literally stalk him. Showing up at his house at odd hours, coming to his college to follow him around, stuff like that. He was terrified. He ended up moving at least 3 times iirc and pretty much refused to leave the house.
Some Mafumafu's songs were stolen. The person who stole his songs was a producer who spread rumors to make mafu and some of his friends turn on each other in addition to taking credit for their work. Terrible things happened during this time, including people kicking down his door and physically dragging him from his bed and into the street.
Things changed for him when he met Soraru. In mafu's blog post about this, he said "Unable to overcome a part of this incident, wrecked by the spite and violence,
swallowed by despair, the one who reached out his hand to me was Soraru-san." Soraru stood up to the person responsible for hurting him and promised to protect Mafu from any harm. They grew closer, and when they eventually formed a band, they named it 'After the Rain'(initially known as Sky-coloured Muffler (そらいろまふらー, Sorairo Mafurā)) as a reminder that they were strong enough to make it through the pain together.

The game is already known for a ton of toxic and salty players so yeah it’s all fucked. Good thing that Alelu-san stood his ground for them.
That kind of stuff is almost common in all smaller and bigger streams, especially in competitive FPS-s, or MOBA-s.
There are 2 kind of people who do that: The first one who actually thinks he's helping and has a superiority complex, and butts in for """good intentions""". The other one is just a troll: He had a bad day and takes it out on unlucky streamers, or he actually has fun in bullying just about anyone out there. And beacuse they're pretty much anonymus, they know they can get away with it, so why not? A really sad life they have.
I guess that first online celebrity APEX tournament back then is the start of this downhill ride. It invites more viewers but it also invites more people like that.
Chiichan who always got 4-6k viewers before that tournament, suddenly got boosted into 8-12k viewers after, but after that stream incident with Yukio and Kaito, her viewers returned to 4-6k. I guess it is too hard for normie to understand what a character means, but if it means she's now with viewers who actually care and love her all the same then it is a better state.
This made me so sad :( Seriously I’m so glad Alelu-san was there. That was such a pro move from the pro! Little off topic, but I’ve seen eng chat spam and not listen to chat rules a lot lately. Of course this is because vtubers are becoming more popular so foreigners don’t know how Japanese etiquette is different from western ones (I cringe at my past chat sins myself) but I’ve noticed most new people get offended when they are informed of the rules. And it starts an eng chat war. It’s honestly embarrassing and watching how Kuzuha face was in this vid while haters were arguing in Japanese makes me wonder if eng chat makes them feel like that too even if they might not understand us.
Guys if someone just starts arguing because they don’t want to follow chat rules just block/report them immediately. Arguing in eng and practically overtaking the chat just ruins the happiness that our streamers try to create for us!

It is less noticable in faster moving chat, but when you are watching vtuber with 2-3 digits viewers, those kind of things are very noticable, and it made me even sadder when the livers in question responded to it because it is English and they don't know what's the meaning.

Yep, I honestly considered backseat gaming too! I was trying to go for something that is more widely used in conversations, so I opted for 'keyboard warrior' instead-- I'd definitely choose backseat gaming as the more accurate term though.
