  • an earthquake with 6.1 Magnitude strikes Japan while cr cup scrim day 5 is still going on 3rd Match out of 6 matches. There's no threat of Tsunami. The scrim was ended after the 3rd game is finished. Everyone is good no one hurts. Hope I don't make you misunderstand their talks. even if there's someone who laugh, don't take it negatively. they don't have intentions to do that on purpose.

    Note: In Japan, we usually uses "seismic intensity scale" = "shinn do", to measure the real shake people will experience. Magnitude is just the measurement of energy, so the real shakiness may differ depending on how near and shallow the epicenter is. So this time, earthquake were smaller than that happened 7? months ago in magnitude, but epicenter was around Chiba prefecture, which were nearer. Thus the shake was harder around Tokyo.

    To be honest, the Korean pros actually getting worried is understandable, people who live in a place where earthquake doesn't occur that much or maybe not at all, might not know about how shaky a certain magnitude was and think that if it's an earthquake, even a small one, is dangerous enough to the point that people need to evacuate. Well, I live in a country where earthquake also occurs almost weekly so yeah from my experience, 5-6 magnitude is big enough but not to the point that people needs to actually evacuate. Also, this is Japan where the construction of the buildings are already made to be strong enough against certain level of earthquake.

    • @lookslikeitsraining6105
      @lookslikeitsraining6105 Před 2 lety +106

      Yeah is common for people outside of shaky places like Chile and Japan to have that kind of reaction, but if you want some info about this and be reassured, the structures of houses and any kind of building it's perfectly made to absorb the shock of the earthquake and just sway around, so evacuating would be counter-productive since it's more dangerous outside than inside because of light poles and electric cable so you're asked to stay under a table or in the strongest side of the house in case of a big earthquake.
      This is not the case on different countries tho.

      Yeah I feel that. If an earthquake were to hit my area I'd have no idea what to do, we've never had to deal with them. Though every region has issues they're more prepared for and not. Like if we got hit 30 cm of snow things would pretty much be business as usual after the plows are done, but that would shut down entire cities in Japan.

      Indonesian here, our country is surrounded by 3 tectonic plate, and a lot of volcanoes. Earthquake is quiet common, but Jakarta position is soo strategic that no big Earthquake ever hit it. it's always the surrounding province who feel it the most. bust still, as a person who live in Jakarta, small earthquake (below 5) rarely make people running that live on house. but those in High-rise building will shook themselves since 90% of Jakarta high rise is not made to hold earthquake.
      I felt 5.1-5.3 magnitude once when I was a child, and that's the worst earthquake i ever felt to this day in Jakarta.

      @tsubakichan1442 Před 2 lety +5

      It's not recommended to go out during the shaking actually 😅. But as someone who comes from a country where earthquake happens quite frequently, we do evacuate after the shake. But I think in Japan the buildings are already structured to withstand the shake so it's safer for them to stay inside

    • @moondust2365

      @@lookslikeitsraining6105 True. Here in the Philippines, we don't experience earthquakes as much as Japan, but frequently enough that we have to do yearly earthquake drills. One thing I was always worried about was how they made us go outside. While we were taught to only go outside once the earthquake stopped, it bothered me that there weren't enough properly open spaces. Any place we were made to go to had trees, lamp posts, and electricity posts nearby. In a real earthquake, going there would hurt us if something fell after the earthquake due to an aftershock or if wires were open and electrocuted us.

    この時は平均より大きい揺れでした。
    「FPSやめられないんだけど」は日本のミームですが、まず身の安全を確認してください。
    またこのスクリムには日本に住んでいない人や震源地から遠くに住んでいる人もいたため、韓国人や日本人でも揺れを感じていない人がいます。
    I was wondering what kind of impression people from other countries had when they saw the situation at that time.
    I'm glad I found this clipping.
    In Japan, such earthquakes occur frequently in various places.
    As you can see, it was a tremor that even Japanese people who regularly experience earthquakes feel very uneasy.
    At this time, the shaking was larger than average.
    "I can't stop FPS" is a Japanese meme, but please check your safety first.
    In addition, some Koreans and Japanese do not feel the shaking because some people in this scrim do not live in Japan or live far from the epicenter.

    I’m from Scotland so I’ve never experienced any sort of natural disaster in my life, we don’t get hurricane, or earthquakes or forest fires etc. Apparently we get mild earthquake tremors in the sea but they’re not strong enough for anyone to even notice on land.
    This is just so normal for them and just a slight surprise the back to gaming, I would be In shock lol.

    Bora Chan's the one going off but can't really blame her, she's from Korea and was very high on adrenaline, her mind's too focused on the game and her brain's wasn't thinking straight at the time.

    I love the sportmanship because earthquake usually doesn’t only happened once, most of the time it’s 2-3x that comes in wave. I’m saying this as someone who comes from a country that experience earthquake DAILY. Keep in mind that the scale they used in Japan is a bit different, so when they say 4-6 it is quite big especially if they’re closer to the epicentre or and near the shore area with risk of Tsunami
