Welcome back to Average Mike! Today we install and review a garage door opener in our newly built garage. Will the Genie 6172H-O Wall Mount opener we found on amazon be enough to handle our massive 10 foot doors?? Will there be any issues installing it? Watch and find out!
As always, please comment below with how I did.

You should have 4" drums on your 10' doors. Put the setting back to 4" drums and redo the limits and the door will work faster.
Thanks for the video. Can the lock/deadbolt be locked open for manual operation or does it need to be held open?
Great video, Thanks
Nice add to the shop! We put a pair of the Chamberlain openers on our shop with the 14' doors. Ours are also slow (but steady) as we're at the max size for the door. Once you get all your openers in, plan an afternoon to delete all your opener programming and start over. We have 4 doors, 6 or 7 openers, and no two are the same.. It's great when the Bobcat opener opens a shop door and house door. HAH
I need to get the 3D interactive Adjustment settings information CZcams instruction. Can anyone help with that?
I have the same unit and decided to keep those spring clamps off. I dont really know purpose they serve. It has a nylon clip to attach to the metal tension wire. But, it doesnt do anything. Curious if me leaving it off is a problem?
I think that's only for when you're put it in manual mode after pulling the release on the motor and if you're lifting it up-and-down yourself so it doesn't go too high.
I have a 14 foot door also and adjusted it down to the floor but it would not raise Or do anything ,very Frustrating and confusing.
I’m just installing this. The safety door release, on mine I have to pull it down and hold to unlock it. As soon as I release it locks, I was under the impression pull down once to unlock, then pull down again to lock. That’s not how mine works, wondering if mine is broken.
I'm having the same issue. Did you figure anything out on it?
@@sethjcummins It just started working, It feels similar to a pull chain light switch, just more effort. The one thing I discovered, when you pull on the door its very easy to overcome and likely break the internal lock/gears.
you didn't show how to hook up the opener, and all over the place to get to a point.
