- Annyeooooong! Today I react to the music video 'WILDSIDE' by Red Velvet. There is definitely some sort of story to this group that I do not know. Video was hella artistic.

Wildside was part of the Japanese release this year. They sang in Japanese pretty well. It’s like asking an English speaker to sing in German where there is not that much in similarity. As far as their part in the SM Universe, they are still on their own, if you consider them to be the intergalactic super witches. 😂 Their concepts are soooo diverse and their vocal talent is sooo good and deep, they can execute any genre.

RV do a lot of different concepts and are well known for amazing b sides
They do red(bright) and velvet(dark) concepts but it’s also about the song style, like red pop/fast beat and velvet R&B/ballad etc. Although they mix them alot now

They’re the MOST QUIRKY and different sm group, for sure
If you want more vocal heavy Red Velvet that’s a little slower and more drawn out, Kingdom Come and In My Dreams are a good start. Kingdom Come is a more traditional R&B song and In My Dreams sounds a bit like an operatic pop ballad. They also have One of The Nights and Automatic. OOTN is more straight up ballad but their voices really shine, and Automatic is another slower R&B track. What’s great about them and a lot of SM artists I would say is that they do very minimal production on the vocals. So when you watch their recording behind it sounds very similar or even the same. Definitely give their recording diaries/behinds a watch if you ever get the chance!
