- After forcing The Dark Overlord out of Doctor Jenning's (Jeffrey Jones) body, the creature takes it's final form in the shape of a huge mutant space worm. It's up to Howard The Duck (Chip Zien) to save his friends & the galaxy from total destruction!
Howard The Duck (1986): In this film based on the comic book character, Howard the Duck is suddenly beamed from Duckworld, a planet of intelligent ducks with arms and legs, to Earth, where he lands in Cleveland. There he saves rocker Beverly from thugs and forms a friendship with her. She introduces him to Phil, who works at a lab with scientist Dr. Jenning. When the doctor attempts to return Howard to his world, Jenning instead transfers an evil spirit into his own body.

It's such a great film, why is it called garbage? Confusion, friendship, and courage, it doesn't count at all.
I found Howard was a much better movie then that Tom Hardy Venom movie.
When I first watched it, as a kid, that scared me, looking back on it now, I see why this was never remade, it's so bad that it's good lol😂😂
Howard the Duck needs more of a reboot if anything, to be much closer to Steve Gerber's original Howard the Duck comics.
This Dark Overlord form scares me when I was a kid.
yea it did too but now nah im brave like a true warrior
I wish they brought the dark overlords back in one or two of the marvel movies
I have been wild about this movie since I was 5 because it is radical.
Now I understand where Home Alone came from.
A 1986 classic
Lea Thompson was sooooooooo friggin' hot in this movie.
This hair suited her so well.
Someone in another comment thread mentioned that Howard looks like Macaulay Culkin, and now I can’t unsee it.
Looks like the garthok Beldar narfled.
Howard the duck vs the dark overlord the final fight
It's awesome!
Tell me that's not Mikey from Men in Black.
Ironically, Men In Black is also Marvel.
‘
They could’ve just fix the machine and send that duck back to his home planet again
Hee mayde aye gewd, stronge, faurt
I would love a remake of this movie 😊😊😊
It’s fine how it is.
as a fan of the comic, I couldn't watch this - now I almost wish I did. Almost. They mnde Howard so nerdy and uncool - not to mention lamely attired - he's more like a klutzy animal friend of the princess in some Disney movie. No cigar, no swearing, no edges - he probably doesn't even sleep with Bev. A remake by someone like James Gunn or David Ayer (I think the first SS is very underrated - you can damn well bet he'd have a cigar in an Ayer movie - and probably be in a fight club.) in the CGI age, with someone like Andy Serkis modeling the Duck would probably kick ass -- as per his cameo in the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
It is because you have the comparison - with comics. I never saw any Howard comics, so for me all characters are perfect, even nerdy Howard
This is for kids not perverts. And it was a bad idea because of that incompatibility.
Steve Gerber was an utter genius, and I don't know if we have anyone who could write like him today. Definitely not James Gunn, who specializes in lowbrow humor and gross-out gags, not intelligent satire. Gerber was a genius at satire. I always thought the Roger Rabbit movie was inspired by Gerber's Howard. It had a hot, big-chested redhead dating a white fuzzy animal. And the character of Baby Herman smoked cigars and had the comic book Howard's irascible personality. Maybe Robert Zemeckis would've done a much better job directing this movie than what we got. Gerber was a rare bird, and I don't know who today could write Howard the way he did. Satire is a dying art. Political correctness has been killing it slowly and it's just about bled it dry from the entertainment industry.
I think that FFIV final boss Zeromus was inspired somewhat by the Dark Overlord
I miss those kind of visual effects

How is Howard the worst part of his own movie???
Looks like men in black copied the entire premise of this movie.
Yeah, but this copied Ghostbusters first.
Strange. Men in Black was a comic before Marvel bought it in 1994.
@@eyeseer1 Yeah, but I don't think the movie's plot concerning the villain came from the comics. And that's what's similar to Ghostbusters and Howard the Duck, with a big alien/monster from outside Earth possessing a human, whose body keeps getting more mutated, and then finally turning into his full self during the final battle. Also, in the comics they investigated ghosts and monsters too. The movie limited it to just aliens.
