- Toronto, Pearson Airport; 07 August 87 "A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour Interviews".
This footage presents unedited interviews with (a very sarcastic) David Gilmour & Nick Mason.
I saw the Momentary Lapse tour in '87. I was 16, had been a Floyd fan since 1979, and had never been to a gig of any kind until that point. It was, and remains, one of the greatest nights of my life.
I was 4 years old when I started to listen to Pink Floyd :)
I would die for one concert Pink Floyd. Where is the devil? I need to sign contract
Saw them in 1988 in Perth I was 13. First ever concert and a great way to start
I love PF and will never have the chance to see them live :(
Where???
“They’re just so relieved Roger’s gone.” AHHHHHHH
Alex B I think roger got so far left wing people around him couldn’t stand it and when all his music he wrote was a left wing winge that was it he had to go. Compare the final cut to momentary laps of reason David got pink floyd back on track in my view
The politics really had nothing to do with the split, they're all self admittingly very left leaning. What drove the wedge was the fact that Roger felt Pink Floyd was his writing, and Gilmour felt it was his musicianship. Add on a clash of ego's, lawsuits, and general nastiness that made their relationship irreparable
@@NolanEgbert And Gilmore was right. Most people could not give two tosses about the lyrics even if they could understand them. Waters was a pretentious cock.
Roger was the Maggie Thatcher of the band
It's always a relief to get away from toxic people and carry on without all that nonsense!
i love this interveiw!!! David has such a great sense of humour, he had me laughing so hard at some of his comments regarding roger{funny but true].With his sexy voice ,his incredible good looks and his awesome guitar talent david is one of a kind
6:26 - David says they're not "anticipating making a lot of profit"....and the background reaction from Nick is priceless...😂😂😂
no he doesn’t!
He actually said, 'We're not anticipating making a loss on it.'
@@sydbarrett74 - Touché!!! I definitely stand corrected....
@@samuelluria4744 😁
hey!!! No dissing The Floyd.I'm old and I still cover my bedroom walls with Floyd art!!....monster sized young shirtless Gilmour framed pics...I don't know about y'all, but since the Passing of Richard Wright I can't listen to "Turning The Inside Out" without tears as it reminds me that I will Never Ever see them together in concert again and it breaks my heart!!! Pink Floyd, the greatest rock band this world will ever know!...
Maybe "Wearing the inside out"?!
lol...opsie...don't know how that happened!!!!...my "brain damage" is showing again!!!
Aleksandar...ain't it truth!! May God rest his sweet soul
Sally Brown yeah sounds a bit gay at your age RIP
David Gilmour at 7.22 😂😂
Honestly 😂😂
I am forever quoting him on that😂😂
David and Nick were not being sarcastic but were being truthful.
It was great
David is totally amazing man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bloody hell - Nick looks like Lee Mack with a perm!
I have a feeling that Dave is High AF haha thank you guys for keeping the Pink Floyd name and making possibly the best 2 live shows ever done in History
Oh god. Middle-aged Dave and Nick.
+Onetoo. Dave always looks perfect. He's my King
@@kasiadudziak3802 lol
I seen two shows on this tour, 18 yrs old, free tickets.
I 💖 David Gilmour
Waters couldnt stand that David and the rest of the band could get sucses without him. The worst thing for Waters was return Rick to Pink Floyd. And good. That was good David ' s move.
la jalousie n'a pas sa place dans un groupe aussi mythique que pink floyd, tank you DAVID
A joke is a joke and what's said is what makes it funny and yes "we were relieved Roger chose to go". Looking back for a 1968 fan to 2022 we were first devastated but when we new Pink Floyd would go on we were in bliss. Thankyou so much David, Nick and latter Rick.
Fantastic interview. It gives insight into their personalities 'coz they're still young but you can see that they're maturing. They've lost, or overcome, the arrogance they possessed (or that possessed them) when they were so young during the Dark Side & Wish You Were Here era. They're obviously extremely intelligent young men & they've also got this sublime wit come through in their talk. I love these guys. They're so cool! Their music is inspirational! Thanks for this.
Nice interview.
Thanks for uploading / sharing.
Ernest
Nick reminds me of Eric Idle in this video, LOL
It is,,he toured with Floyd in 87.88, and co-wrote a lot of the album...
David is so gorgeous
Great footage, of a amazing moment to be remembered, when Pink Floyd came back after Roger leaves the band
Lol David is funny, talented and good looking.. perfection!
I saw this tour in Los Angles @ the sports coliseum in '87.and I remember the HELL OUT OF IT. So good job good job guys!
I liked seeing David and Nick interacting with each other without being interviewed. Just being themselves.
thank you for this interwiew.........i like it.........
This is new! (old) Great to see - thanks
Nice to see that my fellow Piscean, David Gilmour, also reads magazines from back to front!!!😂😂 Happy (almost) Birthday, David!
Hahaha you Pisceans are weird but I love y'all anyway 😅 - an Aries
I do the same thing and was thinking he does that to I am a pisces moon but my sister has the same birthday as David Gilmore March six yesterday happy birthday sister and David
7:22 hahahahhahaha oh David. lol
Mark Canino, Roger was pink Floyd
Mark Canino He bloody went there, I was drinking coffee and couldn't stop cackling 😂
Hysterical!! I love Gilmour.
Mohammad Esfahani...No He wasn"t!!
What does he say? I cannot get it.
Such an unedited interview is even more exciting than entire concert hehehe
David has such a sexy grin, just makes me melt! I like when Nick had facial hair!
The guy on the speaker announcing phone calls sounds like some of the between-song voices on some of their albums. I wonder if he was trying to sneak in an audition. lol!
I saw PF, after I saw Roger Waters do his show, and David Gilmore kept PF, right up there with a fantastic light show, and visual effects and sound quality.
He reads a magazine the same as me from back to front,
Us weirdos. I do that too.
Amazing quality, wow.
Love the interviews their personal feelings P.U.L.S.E. was best So blessed to have them all in my lifetime Greatest Guys
Saw them twice on this tour awesome
i remember 9 sept 1987 in ottawa the best concert in my live...
This record is incredible as well.
I can't believe I used to think David looked old back then!
Same here. When your 19, 41 seems ancient. Now I'm 50 and wonder how people see me🤣
Thanks, wish I'd live there so I can get a chance of meeting my idol
LOVE YOU PINK FLOYD
i think i was staring at David's hands the entire time....
Can't blame you
I was staring at his hairline
@@NimrodelMirage I absolutely love Dave, but I kind of wanted to give him a barrette.not sure why! Or a headband?actually he could be totally bald & most of us would still faint!!
@@renatawarec TRUE
@@NimrodelMirage then I would ask if I could play with his hair for about 20 years!!yummy !
Just because Roger wrote the lyrics, it weren't automatically Roger's songs. Most songs they played where co-compositions. For example, the title track of Wish you were here was a poem of Roger, for which David wrote ALL music.
Great Gilmour!!! Great sense of humour
Those first 56 secs are the perfect ASMR.
Какой же Дэвид голубоглазый красавчик, ммм... Он такой сдержанный англичанин) 🤗🤗Ему через месяц 76 лет! И он так же хорош собой! 💜💜💜💜💜
love it when Nick and Rick got interviewed, whole other side to the band in terms of personality
1:01 I like when Mason ends the off voice with a imaginary stick beat.
Have a Cigar, if you watch the available doc of the Wish You Were Here record (very cool), was done originally with RW & DG as a dual vocal, then Roy Harper, who was booked in the same studio at the time, came in and nailed it after they agreed to have him upon his suggestion. They actually play the tracks- I heard it. Simple. Truth.
I love pink floyd
well said
rock Legend!
☆☆☆☆☆
lovely couple..
20 bucks a ticket??? I went to one of the Toronto shows, floor seats and it was almost a hundred bucks
Did you buy them off the 2nd hand scalper market? Because my ticket for the Philly show on May 15th 1988 in the first level with a clear view across from the stage was only in the 20 something dollar range... And that was an awesome seat. The tickets were still way cheaper then... I can see how closer floor seats might've gone for considerably more on the secondary market though.
God's hands on Gilmour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This seems like they are swiping their phones as they turn the pages. Lol. This tour was what made me a fan. I was 13/14ish and my uncle said he would let me smoke weed. I won’t going to go but he said that so I went. I had no idea what I was about to see. Gilmour became my idol that day.
Do not worry... WE ALL REMEMBER !!!
Hi! where did you find this video?
Both reunion albums r great
my ticket to see them in chicago in 1987 was $22.50, which seemed unprecedented at the time!
it's been 25 years..time has gone the song is over..
Looks like interviewer gets a lot of fun too!
There so relieved rogers gone , fantastic
Como puede un hombre verse tan apuesto y galan 🤩🙌🏻🔥
Half of the interview sounds like an outtake from Spinal Tap.
The dogs if war. A dog of a song among
OH MY GOD WHERE IS THIS HOMETOWN YOU SPEAK OF:O
@mattaystig nooo!!! i can't belive! how did you meet him?
They were so young in live at pompeii. Middle aged Pink Floyd saddens me lol
7:21
Fucking lost it, loved it.
Telephone for Rick Wright LMFAO
7:22 funny and sad at the same time ....
Simple. Truth. No throat infection, no angry profane personal attacks, just the facts.
is this after the right to use the trademark PINK FLOYD was legally allowed to be used by Gilmour and Mason?
@mattaystig thank you friend!
Does anyone understand what Dave says at 7.22?
"They're just so relieved Rogers gone."
At this point Nick Mason is the age I am now and David a couple of years younger. What strikes me is how much more like proper ' Adults, ' in looks, dress and mannerisms they seem compared to me. I don't think I'll ever be a proper adult like them.
never understood why people licked there fingers to flip pages, I get through fine without, it lol
I know why, but you don't need to, spread sickness by doing that.
I'm actually really glad you clarified that! I was about to ask how you don't understand, Lol😂...but, to your point, I SOMETIMES do it, but I do try to minimize it....I try not to make it a constant and excessive thing. 😉
Im betting he was on some type of stimulant during this interview.
Well working with paper all day, especially in winter, your hands get dry and slide off and you cannot grasp the pages. However, there is a product called Quiksort.
at a circus in my home town,,,he lives a 10 mins drive from my house...he was standing behind me in the hotdag line... =)
@mattaystig Wooow!! and where does he live?
Nick The Racing Car Champion Mason
What does David say at 7:22 in english and what does it mean? Thanks.
He says, referring to the fans: "They were just so relieved Roger's gone". The joke refers to the departure of Roger 2 years before, of course.
Thank you Alessio!
Funny slap David takes at Roger Waters at 7:25 , laughing saying "there just so relieved Rogers gone" funny.....
A lot of people will not get the meaning of all those PA calls for "telephone calls". That makes me feel old.
I know, right!😂
I'm sure plenty of people understand it. It's not difficult.
OMG David's hair style WTF!
Where did you get this "fact" ?
when i'm gone, and re'incarnated, i'd like daves left arm and hand please, also, his black strat, and all melodies, and errr, the brain to work it... yes please, thank you..
Huh?.....biggest combover?....gee I never noticed! hehehe :D
7:20 Dave roasts Roger lol
Nick might have been on the 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason' tour but he was barely on the album.
well, they are called demos for a reason. The mainidea is there
Wow making a moment about a $20 ticket price, man now you can't find any show at $20?
man, david has aged fast...here he was 41 and looked much older
cocaine is a hell of a drug
lol that lil quip bout rog
Same here. Its the most commercial song on the album and only there to have a single. It doesnt really add much to the depth of the album.
$20 a ticket!!! LOL
Festivals used to be free. Now....Its like a damn holiday.
Imagine? "If they spend $20 on a ticket..." If it was possible, I wonder what a Pink Floyd ticket would cost today. Whatever it would be...worth every cent.
Id sell my house& car!!!
After this, Dave's hair fell out from fighting with Roger.
7:22 Roger's gone? When did he die? I never heard that news!
+Taylor ∆ I think Dave wanted to say that Roger gone from Pink Floyd, not died.
He has a massive beachfront place in hove east sussex... and the othe one is in billingshurst which is an hour from my house... =) i could walk to his place in hove in about an hour....
=)))
The interviewer sounds like how interviewers sound like today. Weird
