My 5yr old son after watching this;
'Dad can we make a roller coaster in the backyard!?'
Me; 'Um....'
3 years later. Is there one?
@@fahrgeschaefte this is me tony hardmans son and no
(just kidding) its not his son
Here in the UK gardens are too small to even build a small Roller Coaster it sucks that we are cramped in and too many houses are being built in this area.
Gift him Rollercoaster Tycoon 1,2,or 3 or Planet Coaster
5 years later is there one?
This looks like a really cool father and son project.
+christosvoskresye that's a quote from Christmas story😐
Zonary Panther0 exactly?
Its not his son. Its his friends son
I bet everyone goes to this kid's birthday party! (:
I never thought of that. That would be the best birthday ever!
The stress put by a kid and the train causes the track will deteriorate quickly due to alot of kids riding the coaster
Can you adopt me so I can help build roller coasters in the backyard, too? I might be 32 but don't let that stop you.
I laughed way to hard at that!😂😂😩
zaktatack lmao
@@Chester_Copperpot lol love it!
Love how this dad calls his son "buddy boy." I think the way he speaks to his son is even more impressive than the coaster. His son probably feels that way, too. Great video!
Its not his son. Its his friends son
3:36 I like this kid we couldn't think of him better test subject LOL

This is cool! But does anyone know if they have updated the coaster with an automated lift system so it doesn't have to be human pushed?

Winner of the coolest Dad of the Decade goes to.... I remember trying to figure out how to do this as a kid. Amazing that you did it. Your kid will have amazing childhood memories.
Its not his son
And father of the year award goes to this dad
There are some great Dad's on the youtube's..
I wish I had a dad who made roller costers
Same 😔
I wish I had a dad.
Kyle Olsen aww ),:
Its not his son its his friends son
they should add a chain lift
I salute you, amazing father.
This is the BEST backyard PVC roller coaster on CZcams by FAR and possibly the best one in the entire world. The paint job on the track itself is amazing and looks so professional. I love how the track is elevated from the ground and of course the incredible cart you've built is the cherry on top of it all. I'm looking forward to your next project already (I read you considered making one in steel which seems like a tall order but would be absolutely amazing) but for now keep us updated on the progress of this one! You are a inspiration to us all Will, good job!!
Thank You, SaliusenEx for your kind words. The whole team had a wonderful time building this coaster. Your support and encouragement means a lot!
Thanks for watching.
Best,
Will
@@WillPemble do u have a video on how to put wheels on a coaster?
@@cuTpeye yes you do
I can only say I hope Lyle appreciates what an amazing father he has to take the time and build such a wonderful aparatus like a backyard roller coaster! My father was a civil engineer who had built his own house with his bare hands from the ground up and had the lot size to do any number of amazing projects for his only son me but like so many fathers he had not the imagination or interest to do something as magical as this! You sir are a hero among fathers and a inspiration to us all...hats off to you!!!
This is what I love. Family time. If you are ever bored and don't know what to do, find something you want and build it with some family or friends!
Childhood Memories, that's what its all about.
Looks so cool! I'm jealous haha!
And also 21... probably a bit too big xD
PencilAndPaperAddict Actually, we built this coaster so grownups could ride it, too! The next video - after we get that first turn fixed - is going to be MY TURN to ride the CrossBow! Haa!!!
Will Pemble
Actually yeah, i remember you saying that in another video now! Hope you have fun! :D
I was wondering how it would work if there was just one person riding and noone to star them off. Are you planning on adding some sort of clever and ingeniously simple pully system?
PencilAndPaperAddict Riding roller coasters isn't a solitary thing. It's important to have someone around to clear the area, make sure things stay safe. When I'm not at home, my roller coaster is LOCKED to the track. Safety is the first consideration. A lot of that safety comes from making the coaster impossible to ride by yourself :)
Will Pemble
That's a very fair point. I suppose i'm speaking as a guy who didn't have such an awesome Dad as yourself. I suppose it makes it more fun too when you've also got your jealous friend watching you have all the fun on the coaster haha :D
That's a great backyard roller coaster bet that young lad has got some great memories on his own roller Coaster now
That young lad seems to be doing quite well these days. I’m a lucky guy to have him in the world ❤️
Your car gets stuck on that tight curve because the type of articulation you have for the wheel assemblies requires the distance between the rails to decrease slightly in sharper curves.
Iain Hendry you are absolutely right.. which you already knew :)
For that particular turn, we ended up calibrating the track so that it would match the way the cart was built. Check out these videos to see how I've applied the lessons you've pointed out -->

Was there a way to reduce the 'sharpness' of that turn and/or bank the turn a little more?
This is awesome. Great job you guys!
...and Captain Buzzkills say', "Wonder what your home insurance rates are when you have your a homemade roller coaster in the backyard?"
Maybe you could upload a tutorial series on how to build a backyard coaster. Have it go step-by-step, showing the process of an empty space on someone's property to a coaster. I would definitely watch that, even though I already watch your videos.
The 558 that didn't like this video must have never had a great child hood.
too bad so sad...
or maybe they thought the construction looked a little sketchy. i'd still ride it though!
nope. just pussies.
maybe it is because they just didn't enjoy the video?
7:16 is when the riding starts
Thx
philthynj THANK YOU
This is the most talented person ever
I like it because he is so happy! It makes me happy
8:07 OMG LOOK AT THE TOP LEFT
Classmates:um so what’s your dad job?
This kid: he’s a legend.
Abraham will absolutely love this ride great job!
His playdates must be a blast
Huh. A FULL CIRCUIT homemade coaster... nice!
You're an amazing dad
This is so cool! I've been thinking about adding one on to the "fantasy factory" in the backyard
Looks like a fun project. I noticed the discussion on why the car is binding in the turns. Try putting the rear wheels on a truck that can pivot, more like the front. This way the distance between the right and left rear wheels is constant even when the car itself rotating.
Please be safe.
Watch closely for wear and chafe, could be deadly if someone grows careless.
He's probably the coolest kid in school!
coolest dad ever!
When can I ride it for my POV for my channel? Looks amazing! Your in California right?
Attraction Spot yes he does
Lol
@drip freddy ayo drip Freddy fazbear
I can imagine neighbours not being happy with the noise it makes...
you are very smart
Thanks, Junior Dragon !
We had a lot of help from a lot of smart people :)
Thanks for watching,
Will
I wish I had you as a father growing up, this is amazing!
this is awesome I wish I had a dad like you
Wow...had to pause the video to say - you're doing a great thing here, I hope all goes well and wish your family the best. I have loved coasters since I was young like the boy in the video, he is very blessed.
God bless you and may you all have many safe voyages on that track.
Respect from Texas!
I remember watching this when I was a kid
Fantastic!
Had to come back and check this one out again to see the Sch 80 PVC in action. I'm voting for steel for the Iron Dragon.
Such a sweet dad!
I've gotta admit, this is better than most Chinese-slums coasters at actual parks.
Looks a lot of fun! Maybe one day, I could build a Rollercoaster.
I NEED TO TRY THIS
Oh man will, that cart is looking fantastic !
I thought it itself was called the crossbow, not the coaster? Maybe I'm wrong
Hi Daniel Cafaniel ,
You're right. It started out that way. Then, we decided to name the whole coaster The CrossBow. Tomorrow we're doing one last round of tests on the track. Hopefully, I'll get to ride! Stay Tuned, and thanks for watching. :)
Best,
Will
Please tell me how the rails are connected to the crossties. Thanks!
CCHEZER right, but is the screw through two sides? Or is there an access hole on the outside and the screw is only on the inner?
1. That's Will Byers in his 60s
and 2. That kid is Will Byer's son because he sounds exactly like Will Byers LMAO
Yes
Father and son goals
this roller coaster is ok, its pretty sturdy as well! 9/10
Professional wheel design!
It would be awesome if you made a coaster with a seat that swivels or spins!
WOW! I finally have a good excuse to have children!
I'm gonna start making one right away
and once it's born I can start building a roller coaster in my backyard (for my kid)! :-)
That looks so fun you must be a very good builder
Put a motor in the back tires or a lift chain this will be more fun
Father of the year.
This looks so FUN
I wish I had a rollercoaster in my backyard
hello again Mr.Pemble. Great job on the new wheel supports. They look strong and I'm very glad my advice helped and payed off in the end. I was hoping you'd pick "Taz" for the name but it's no biggie. It's your creation after all. Grrat work on the cart and great work on the track, It looks so fun I wish I could ride it myself. :)
Underrated youtuber
THis is way better than mine! Great job!
If possible u should make a backyard inverted coaster! And how did u connect the tracks? Also how did u do the vehicle wheel connections? I'm so jealous! U r awesome!
best dad ever
If you can for the next coaster, I would love to see higher banked turns and also maybe making it on a bigger hillside for more speed. Really like the CrossBow cart and track design. Keep it up!
Awesome
pretty cool
i suggest you try a to make a rollercoaster that goes from the rood and falls into a huge vertical drop and goes into a loop or it can be a downhill
on ur next coaster you should try and make an operating lift hill with a chain lift and a anti-roll back system!
Very Nice! Any plans on adding something mechanical that pulls the cart back up the hill so that the ride is continuous.
Hit the enter key all the way on the right side of ur keyboard (not the one on the main keyboard) to get to the riding
Fly out to america, ride these rides. meet will. take pictures. come home a happy lad :)
awesome!!!!
A helmet is not a bad idea....
Do you have a helmet when you ride a roller coaster?
That looks so fun!!
hey nice shirt I love that musical its my favorite
I can remember back in the 70s my friend and I "tried" to make our own roller coaster in my backyard....I think this one is better. Ha! This is very cool. Envious.
Love this.
It looks like the wood is not shaped to fit the PVC (it is flat). Is that strong enough? Awesome commitment.
Put a chain lift on that thing and you'd never have to get off 😂
This is every kids frickin dream
I've seen so many backyard roller coasters, and I think this might be the best one of them all. :-) Do you have a more recent one that completes the circuit?
you shoukd have done a little customization to the cart where the cart spins , that would have been so much more fun
The video stars at 0:00 thank me later.
Also this man is an amazing father
its amazing coaster
Can this support the weight of an adult? Because as cool as it its it would suck to outgrow it and have it just sit there.
Success! I want to test ride this
Wow thats amazing
I want to do something like this for my kids, do u have any diy videos?
Hi leah matus
