Just bought mine today. It's a really remarkable pair of glasses. Excellent sight with natural colours in bright sunlight as well as in dim conditions.
Wish it didn’t say chromance on the lens. Ray ban on the lens I get but it’s a little too much with the chromance. Makes it look like a display with a sticker left on.

@@TheBooban That would be nice, put the C instead of P. And yes! They are very good! I wear my custom Justin’s with Low Bridge fit as beaters every and these are VERY light! I bought a pair of custom Aviators in size small and they hurt my nose a lot and left red marks and bruises as well. They’re all scratched up and frame/temples are bent. No longer wear them and might throw them away. Had to buy a cream to make my bruises on my nose go away. Now I try to avoid wearing anything heavy like the Aviators. I actually stumbled across this model of Chromance on accident. I was at my local LensCrafters looking for sunglasses with discounts and they’re also having a sale for prescription lenses with authentic Ray Ban lenses. I couldn’t believe the view and lightness after putting them. View was way better while driving home! And agree that it’s a shame that they’re plastic. Wish Ray-Ban could start using glass again like the old days. But that’s what happens when a parent company like Luxottica tries to cut corners. Hope this helps!
@@emredreyyandanovic3258 thanks. I have aviators, medium 58mm, and never any issues of them hurting me. Im not out all day though. Was interested in another pair, but Ray Ban has problems with combinations of chromance, polarized, “evolve”, and colors. I can’t have everything in one pair. After research, Serengeti is apparently the glasses to buy. They have every tech in every lens, and glass. But nobodies aviators are as cool as ray bans.

I’ve owned a pair for over a year and a half and I love them. I have the gold Aviators XL silver/brown RB3025 model. There is quite a big difference in quality. Like the video explains, they really do make things pop with the excellent boost in contrast and clarity as well. It’s almost like putting the best filter you can on a picture without it looking too good lol. I have owned two non chromance Aviators and they are good but these are clearly better.
On the website they seem to only have 2 chromance lenses...is chromance a style or a lense ? Bc the glasses says chromance but in the description, the lenses say 'standard brown' and you would have to actually select the chromance lenses.

I have a vintage pair of brownish/amber chromax aviator-esque raybans I bought as a kid in 1996. At the time I had no idea what I was buying but thought they just looked cool because the style somewhat like a Japanese yakuza boss.
They are hands down the best lenses I have ever owned . Perfect for driving and motorcycling sports.
So clear. And literally brighten colors and contrasr than anything I've owned.
I was sad they were discontinued. And have been wearing them sparingly as they're so old.
I've always wanted to buy another pair in a more durable prescription frame....
So here's my question .

Unfortunately, you can only get Chromance lenses in Chromance frames.
I'm highly considering buying the new RB Aviators with Chromance lenses. I already own 2 Aviators with polarized lenses, and I just want to know the difference between regular polarized lenses and chromance polarized lenses.
Are they actually worth paying that extra amount over regular polarized lenses ? If yes, then how are they better from regular polarized lenses in terms of clarity or contrast.

Hi Mahmoud! Chromance lenses are actually a great option for driving because they are all polarized! The only time that could be an issue is if your vehicle has a digital screen that might be skewed by the polarization. Chromance lenses are not photochromic so there is no response time for UV. Hey mexprd! While the available prescription Chromance lenses would work well for driving and fishing, unfortunately they are not available in the New Wayfarer. I exposed mine to salt water twice last year and it is starting to form bubbles on edge of the glass adjacent to the frame. do ray ban have a replacement lenses for these?
Sunglasses that can't take water or sunscreen, same happened to me different brand with a lens coating, pretty sure you will get lenses.
How does Ray Ban Chromance compare to Oakley Prism lens. I have approximately the same price for the prescription lens of both. The colour options are better on Ray Ban for prescription but wanted to know which is a better lens for everyday use.

How do these compare with P3 or P3 plus crystal lenses? Are Chromance better? Is the clarity (Abbe) similar?
Hi Mario! Chromance lenses are polycarbonate and have an Abbe Value of 30. If you are wanting prescription Chromance lenses, you'll have the option between polycarbonate and high-index lenses (which have Abbe Value of 32). As for comparing to P3 & P3 Plus, these lenses are only offered in a small handful of frames currently. Chromance boasts similar clarity, the same hydro-olephobic coatings, but may exceed in color contrast. Hope that helps!

Hi Junior! I wouldn't necessarily say one is better over the other. It's more a question of how the lens will be used. Oakley Prizm lenses, for example, are tailored towards performance for specific sports and activities, whereas Ray Ban Chromance is generally geared toward fashion and everyday wear. That doesn't mean that a Polarized Chromance lens can't be used for a sport like fishing, but depending on the type of fishing you do, there might be a better option in the Oakley Prizm lineup.

The pair you have on doesn’t have the ray ban logo on the lenses so is fake?
Hi! The frames are authentic RayBan, however the prescription lenses he's wearing are SportRx brand as RayBan authentic lenses do not offer some of the same lens features and coatings. However, any authentic RayBan prescription or non-prescription lenses will come with the RayBan logo on the top right corner of the right lens.

Hello! The Blue mirror is paired with a grey or polarized grey tint. 🕶️
How are the lenses to scratches?
All Chromance lenses are made with polycarbonate lens material, which is more susceptible to scratching compared to glass. Scratches are more apparent on solid mirrored lenses as well. Keep them in the case when not in use and you should be fine. However, if you tend to be rough on glasses, check out Serengeti or Costa frames for glass lens options.
The thing about RayBan is that they only ever seem to talk about their lenses is a superficial sense. They won’t even tell you the percentage transmission of their lenses, let alone the spectral characteristics. It’s always about how pretty this colour is or how cool these look. Come on guys we’re in the 21st century, we can handle tech talk.

AlanaW29 The question was placed a few months ago. But if RayBan does list such information, then Qudos to them. As you suggest my concern was a generic one and if RayBan now list this information in their specifications, then I’m sure it will help us consumers navigate our way to some meaningful decision about which set of shades best meets our current needs.
I can say that 4 years later and there still isn't any light transmission information shared. Ray-Ban might tell you, as suggested above, but only if you ask, apparently, because it's certainly not listed anywhere. The #1 function of sunglasses is to block sunlight and the one thing that Ray-Ban doesn't tell you is how much of the sunlight the sunglasses block. Mind numbing.

Hi! Much of the decision comes down to personal preference and lighting conditions. That is to say one isn't necessarily 'better' over another, rather what lens is better suited to your surroundings. The first option will yield the best contrast and color enhancement, but for neutral colors and sharp definition in your field of view, opt for the number 2. Hope this helps!

If you ask me, the chromance are the better ones. Why? The chromance lenses do have an anti-reflection coating on the back, Prizms don't!
Do you see better in Chromance lenses at night compared to other similar lenses?
Hi Ken! We would not recommend using Chromance lenses at night. In addition to enhancing colors and contrast, all Chromance lenses are polarized. Chromance lens technology is meant to excel at daytime hours but would hinder vision at night. Hope this helps!

How does chiromancy lenses compare to Maui Jim super thin glass for clarity ?
Glass lenses offer the best clarity by far compared to just about every other lens material, though they're more expensive to produce, heavier, and do not protect the eyes against impact. Polycarbonate lenses still provide great clarity in addition to being lighter in weight and impact as well as shatter resistant.
Are Serengeti glass lenses superior to Maui Jim super thin glass for clarity ? Do you have a preference for a lense with the greatest clarity if that’s you number one priority ?
Seregetis on par with MJ when it comes to optical clarity for their glass lenses. However, both offer very different types of lens technologies. Serengeti is known for their catalog of photochromic (transitions) lenses while MJ tints are set, meaning they do not transition, but come in a variety of tint and mirror colors. Both are fantastic.

Hi there! If you are looking at Ray-Ban's website, the RB4264 has these lenses listed as "Green Mirror Chromance." That is the same lens featured in the video which is also sometimes called "Green Mirror Gold Gradient Chromance." The photos on the Ray-Ban site don't really do these lenses justice. The video is a better true color representation and there is definitely a strong gold hue. Hope this helps! It's a gorgeous lens!

I'm late to the party, but I just ordered some Ray Ban 4320CH... tried them on in store and fell in love. So lightweight and the lense tech is brilliant! Ended up returning my Oakley Contrail Ti for these, as I preferred the bigger look of the Ray Bans

Correct! If the Letter 'P' comes after the RayBan logo stamped on the front of the lens, then that signifies that the lens is in fact polarized. If you don't see a 'P' then the lens will be a standard non-polar tint. Great question!

How well would Chromance lenses work for golf? Want a pair that I can wear in public as well as during rounds of golf. (Passed my Oakley phase as I'm no longer a teenager, so no Prizm for me)

I just £200 on a pair of Ray Ban Chromeance and I can't get over how disappointing the case is. I can't be the only person who expects more than this flimsy plastic case? Logo print on the outside looks gas station cheap.

No problem! The RB4264 is a touch larger than the Justin. The RB4264 is only available in 58 eyesize and has a lens height of 46.5mm (Justin 55 eyesize has a lens height of 43.9mm). Hope that helps!

Unfortunately Chromance lenses are not available in the Predator 2. The most similar style frame would be the RB4265: www.sportrx.com/ray-ban-rb4265-62-eyesize.html. When it comes to Chromance lenses with a grey base, you can get either a grey mirror and grey gradient however only a grey mirror is available in this specific frame.
