- Indiana has corn, corn fields, wooden roller coasters, and even a wooden roller coaster themed to corn. In this video, I rank my favorite roller coasters in the Hoosier State that I've personally ridden both past and present. This includes all the currently operating roller coasters at Indiana Beach and Holiday World plus a few other rides scattered around the state.

1:27 “In John Ivers’ Backyard” 😂
It's true lol.
Great list! Dreier Looping will certainly be a welcome addition to Indiana.
Agreed!
I love how you included the Blue Flash and Blue Too!
I had to include them. Blue Flash was a legit ride.
I swear, Hoosier Hurricane gives me some insane floater.
I got better airtime in 2017, but it still wasn't great.
Honestly, it depends on the day. Dry, hot days SUCK on this ride. It makes it rougher and slower. A hot, humid day is alright, but not as fast or smooth as a rainy day. This ride is insane after a nice Indiana rain comes by.
Zamperla Family Gravities are some of my favorite true kiddie coasters just because of how janky they are and how much they throw you around lol
That's not a plus for me.
thats how i feel about E&F Milers and why their my favorite kiddie coasters, zamperlas are just rough and uncomfortable and for whatever reason they just arent laughable like the E&F Miler's are
I agree with canobie coaster. I don’t really like them because they’re so uncomfortable
Cocoa Cruiser has given me some of the best laterals I've experienced so far (this includes riding Phantom, Skyrush, Thunderbolt, and Sooperdooperlooper, all coasters known to give decent laterals)
Love the video! The music is great as well!
Thanks!
:)
I have been on 9 of them:
1. Voyage
2. Thunderbird
3. Cornball Express
4. Raven
5. Legend
6. Lost Coaster
7. Steel Hawg
8. Hoosier Hurricane
9. Tiggrr
Nice! I couldn't pass up the kiddie coaster.
@@CanobieCoaster During my 2018 visit to Holiday World I didn't feel the greatest so I cut out early and missed the Howler credit. I will get it during the next trip.
The kiddie coaster at Paige’s Crossing is seriously crazy. Despite this being my home state, I still need to get on Bat Chaser, Kombo, and Miner Mike at Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch for Indiana completion
We’re also getting Quimera, so I’ll have to ride that too
Quimera would have placed second on this list. I'm surprised more people haven't ridden Bat Chaser since it's between Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World.
One of parque de attractions de Madrid's roller coasters had a similar train design to howler once
Cool!
I’ve been going to college in Indiana for the past 2 years and it’s cool that Indiana Beach is just 45 minutes away and Holiday World 3 hrs away. IN is an underrated state for coasters imo. And for everything I’ve ridden, I rank them
1. Voyage
2. Cornball
3. Thunderbird
4. Raven
5. Lost Coaster
6. Legend
7. Steel Hawg
8. Hurricane
9. Tigrr
10. Howler
Quality over quantity.
BTW excellent video thanks. I too have ridden all of these and would agree with you, although on my visit, Lost Coaster wasn't that bumpy :)
Maybe they did some trackwork.
Great Video 👍. Could You Maby Do An Review About Toverland And It's Coasters In The Future.
I plan to review those ones eventually. Very cool park.
Why Do You Speak Like This?
i’ve gotten one ride on raven where every single drop gave airtime like the 5th drop. it was awesome
I still wish I could have ridden Raven with the buzz bars back when it opened.
@@CanobieCoaster same, that looked awesome
Thank you for mentioning Blue Flash that made this video complete 😂
It's a genuinely good ride.
@@CanobieCoaster that corkscrew looks so forceful
Great Video 👍. Could You Maby Do An Review About Disneyland And It's Coasters In The Future.
I plan to review Disneyland sometime.
Not even surprised at #no 1 lol. also have you ridden boulder dash, and if so can you make a review on it? i might be able to ride it next year
It shouldn't surprise anyone. I've ridden Boulder Dash many times, but I wanted to wait until next year to get footage of it. The path to the return run was blocked this year.
@@CanobieCoaster Alright, can’t wait!
I was thinking of visiting Holiday World along with Kentuvky Kingdom and Kings Island in the same vacation (along with Great Wolf Lodge in Mason and Zoombazi Bay at the Columbus Zoo) but I can't decide if I want to include Indiana Beach in the same trip as well. I certainly want to visit Indiana Beach a lot more now that it's reopened but I am not sure about driving from one half of the state down to the other. I did the same thing in my first visit to Ohio by driving all the way from Sandusky to Mason and back and while I believe the drive was definietly worth it considering how great Kings Island and Cedar Point are, it was stilla drag and can't see myself doing that every time I'm in the state. I suppose I could stay in Indianapolis for a couple days and just drive north and back for Indiana Beach (and the Indianapolis Zoo) and then drive south for those parks I mentioned earlier. How far exactly are Indiana Beach and Holiday World from Indianapolis?
Indiana Beach is 4-4.5 hours from Holiday World (and in a different time zone). It's closer to Indianapolis if I remember correctly.
@@CanobieCoaster Okay but how far are both parks from Indianapolis was the question?
@@mitchellries256 Indiana Beach is 1.5 hours from Indianapolis while Holiday World is 2.5-3 hours away (and in a different time zone).
You're one of the only ppl that agree with my opinion that Raven and Legend > Thunderbird. Also the turn over the lake on raven is way smoother but gives far less lateral force. I actually liked it more before the retrack.
I prefer that turn this year.
Runaway train has a great airtime pop in the front row. Don't miss it!
I've heard!
If I ask you, usually do you like bumpy, which is a type of roughness?
Canobie Coaster would say: I prefer...
Yes, an example of one is Schlitt Express.
I have only done the 10 at the 2 main parks, with 1 day at Indiana Beach in 2019, and 1.5 days at Holiday World this year.
10. Howler
9. Tig'rr
8. Hoosier Hurricane
7. Raven
6. Lost Coaster
5. Steel Hawg
4. Corn Ball Express
3. Legend
2. Thunderbird (my overall favorite B&M)
1. Voyage
I don't think I like Thunderbird as much as most, but it really compliments that lineup well.
Do you prefer the front or back on Raven?? Also, is Thunderbird your favorite B&M wing coaster?
I much prefer the back on Raven. Thunderbird is my favorite US wing coaster. I prefer Fenix and Flug der Damonen ever so slightly.
@@CanobieCoaster thanks for sharing!👍🏼
See the first drop on Raven at Holiday World, but was that your favorite drop on the ride, Canobie Coaster?
The fifth drop.
you got the indy zoo credit! im jelous ive been trying to get that one along with coasterfocus.
I'm most excited I got the Sky Ride credit there.
I had the same experience with Raven but I think it is getting retracted, that’s what I heard but I think it’s right
Yeah, they confirmed the Lake Rudolph turn is being retracked.
Ok nice
The pages crossing coaster is pretty good
I've heard. I hope to ride it someday.
Who remembers the cornballer fr arrested development. Cornball express always makes me think of george sr on the spanish show being burned by it
I'm not familiar with that.
“iMuy delicioso!” “iEn verdad!” “iSoy loco por las cornballs!”
Canobie Coaster said:
13: Blue Too in John Iver's backyard. John Ivers originally wanted to create a roller coaster for his kids, but the original Blue Flash was a bit too intense. So he created a smaller roller coaster called the Blue Too.
Imagine saying:
really intense
pretty intense
very intense
a bit too intense
What are the differences between the four terms? What do you think?
Too intense crosses the threshold of intensity comfort.
Did you ever come off something in Indiana with a headache? What do you think?
Not that I recall.
Had to look it up to see if Bat Chaser is on coaster-count. It is.
It feels like a suspended coaster to me, not a true zipline.
My home state!
Nice!
@@CanobieCoaster Indiana: CCI paradise!
i agree with the list other than id put thunderbird a bit higher
I am a wood coaster fan, but Thunderbird is still quite good.
@@CanobieCoaster well lol im a pacing fan so that why i like thunderbird more than u
Did you ever leave something in Indiana breathless?
Yes, Voyage.
We’re getting two new coasters both at Indiana beach in both 2021 and 2022
Quimera/Triple Loop should be the second best coaster in the state in my opinion. No clue what the second coaster is, but it should be a kiddie coaster since that's Indiana Beach's biggest coaster gap.
@@CanobieCoaster from what I’m hearing it’s cascabel 2.0, since they don’t have much land both coasters can only take a small footprint. It’d make since, get 2 coasters from the same park would make it easier. But that’s not confirmed
I've heard that rumor that both could've been a package deal. As an enthusiast, great! But they need a kiddie coaster for the younger ones.
@@CanobieCoaster I imagine they’ll get one. He didn’t wanna mention the second coaster because he didn’t want people to wait till 2022 to visit but had to for Monticello representatives I think? He said he’s adding at least 1 ride a year till 2025. He could have 1 already and just not announce it yet. And if he doesn’t I’m sure he’ll hear about it from enthusiasts throughout the 2021 season with quimera opening
Is this the best state for woodies
a b s o l u t e l y
Probably second behind pennsylvania. They have Ravine Flyer 2, Jack Rabbit, Blue Streak, Thunderbolt, Racer, Comet, Lightning Racer, Wildcat, Rollo Coaster, Oscar's Wacky Taxi, Thunderhawk, Phoenix, Twister, Flying Turns, Kingdom Coaster, Comet at Waldameer and that's all I can think of
Pennsylvania is up there too.
@@CoasterRoaster PA for sure!
For this season thunderbirds launch has been sped up
Interesting they'd do that.
Of course Bat Chaser is a coaster. It has sections powered by gravity with rolling wheels on track.
I think it's a coaster. I know some don't since it's a zipline.
I live in Indiana, im a borderline coaster enthusiast, and have not ridden a single one of these. Michiana does not have any roller coasters and if I want to ride some I just go to cedar point or six flags
You also have Michigan's Adventure within driving distance. It's not as good as those two parks, but Shivering Timbers is excellent.
@@CanobieCoaster I've been there too. Its honestly not a bad park, it just gets overshadowed by all of the other cedar fair parks.
Quimera how is that ranked
Even if it's trimmed, it would probably claim the number two spot on this list.
One tiny but key detail you missed about Lost Coaster. If you ride in reverse AND have no one sitting next to you, then you will be ragdolled like on nothing else, thrown back and forth across the car.
I don't mind if someone is sitting next to you. Being thrown into them is part of the fun.
Canobie Coaster You better know the person well.
Too bad you didn't get to Afterburner at Fun Spot. That for me could be in the top 5 in Indiana!
Having ridden Diamond Back at Frontier City, I don't think I could put it higher than 6 or 7.
People say Indiana is the corn state and I think that's crazy. I live in Illinois and been everywhere in Illinois and everywhere in Indiana and I have to say Illinois has way more corn and farm land. (and great america)
The whole midwest has a lot of corn.
Dude why does everyone pronounce Tig’rr at IB like the Whinny the Poo character Tigger? It is pronounced Tiger like the animal. It is orange and black and has a picture of a tiger on the sign. And the ‘rr represents the growl noise the tiger makes.
Good to know that's how you say it. I was confused because of the spelling.
FINALLY someone knows how to say it.
@@CanobieCoaster It's all good. it is just EVERYONE who reviews it calls it Tigger and it frustrates me. Keep up the good reviews my friend.
The haunted what ...
Sorry, which part of the video are you referring to?
Blue flash got moved to a haunted house in Ohio
I saw!
"Might be the best roller coaster in the world" ? HUH??? Is that the only park you've eve been to? I'm a very sarcastic person. BUT, did I totally miss some sarcasm or a joke gong over my head in that statement. Now sure the best thing about opinions, is they can never be wrong. Until this opinion. It's a good ride. But its a top 50 coaster on its best day. It's not even the best woodie in this country let alone best coaster in the world.
It's my type of coaster. I love pacing, setting, and airtime. Voyage does all 3 of those things.
