- New Jersey is home to a wide range of roller coasters- big Intamins like El Toro and Kingda Ka, giant B&Ms like Nitro and Green Lantern, and several compact coasters along the boardwalk parks like Gale Force and Hydrus. In this video, I rank my favorite 25 coasters that I have ever ridden in the state of New Jersey- past and present- as of the end of the 2020 season.

NJ is basically a great six flags park, a decent runner-up with nickoloadeon universerse, and a ton of underrated boardwalk parks. So much great stuff here that I’m happy to call my home area
Nice!
Great adventure is my home park
Nice!
Same
Same!
Thanks for the review. We’ve got some pretty solid rides here in NJ.
Absolutely!
There are actually alot more parks than I initially thought in NJ 🤯
It's the Jersey Shore.
Nice vid! I’m just stunned that Hell Cat made your list.
Up front, it was enjoyable even in its current state.
Nice list! 👍🏼 I love the idea of rounding out the top coasters in each state! Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Galeforce round out my top 3!
Thanks! I intend to do it for any state that I've ridden all the major coasters.
@@CanobieCoaster awesome! ☺️ Looking forward to it!!
this is amazing
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice video! I’ve ridden a whopping 5 coasters in the state as I’ve only been to great adventure and that day was filled with one train ops, insanely long lines, and closed ones so I have 5 to my name for now.
At least you probably got on their best! Usually Great Adventure is good about running multiple trains.
@@CanobieCoaster I got on Toro, Batman, Green Lantern, Nitro and Superman, Ka was closed as was joker and everything else had ridiculously long line, for example skull mountain was 2 hours
When I went on Snays that first launch didn’t work so when we were launched it went about half way up the loop and then sent us back down. But after that it got fixed and it was a nice ride.
Nice!
i love wilodwood and moreys piers ive been going for 9 years and i cant wait to go back this summer
Enjoy!
Since I live in New Jersey, I’ve been on some of the rides on this list (including El toro) I even made a vid on one of the rides on this list
A lot of good coasters in NJ.
Have you done a list like this for Colorado, Arizona or Nevada yet?
Not yet. I am missing parks in those states at this time.
i’m going to great adventure tomarrow i’m so exited
Enjoy!
I strongly disagree with your placement of Nitro but otherwise, awesome list! very well done
As you mentioned in your countdown, Nitro is super finicky. I honestly have my favorite rides at Holiday in the Park. You still get all the floater airtime and the 20-30 degree weather makes it feel way more intense.
I was also asking you about when you first visited Six Flags Great Adventure, and was it 2005?
2010
Does the cold make coasters run rough? A couple weeks ago I went to SFGA and both Batman and Jersey Devil were INSANELY rough and shaky, enough to give me a pretty strong headache. Nitro was great though!
It can. Some parks use steel wheels over polyurethane wheels in the cold for example.
What! I’m sorry but how is slime streak and green Lateran farther then shredder and superman
I like B&M stand-ups and how forceful they are.
0:22 Is The Pinfari Under Construction Because I See No Loop.
It's hard to tell from the photo I used, but you're looking straight at the loop. It's the orange track. The coaster track was fully assembled, but the train wasn't on the track.
@@CanobieCoaster Oh.... I Didn't See It. Thanks 👍🙂
Of all coasters in New Jersey, what was the worst one you've ridden?
Hellcat in the very back row.
I don’t know for B&m hypers I always thought nitro looked like one of the more intense ones it looks a lot more intense than diamondback intimidator Apollos chariot raging bull Candymonium but maybe not as intense as Goliath or behemoth
Nitro's helix is more intense than most B&M hyper moments, but the rest of the ride isn't super wild.
cool.
Yes
I know Six Flags theming is a joke compared to Disney, HOWEVER, in the wild mouse case, the six flags one here IS actually themed better than the equivalent Disney ride (Goofy I think it's called now) at California Adventure. I rode it when it was called Mullholland Madness and I was surprised even back then how poor the complete lack of theming was. But now it's added rusty track on top of it LOL.
California Adventure's early rides didn't have the Disney magic, but that park's newer additions have been wonderful.
What you said about shellraiser is exactly the opposite for me lol. It used to be really rough in 2019, but now its much better. Still some headbanging, but not much. It's smoother than bizzaro now
I'm glad it's running smoother now.
It’s just about perception. It’s still pretty rough to me.
Are mountain coasters considered credits?
I think so.
I don't understand why Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great Adventure was removed. They said it was for Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom but that doesn't make sense as I believe the path hat heads toward that ride goes around Rolling Thunder's footprint entirely.
I don't think it was very popular.
@@CanobieCoaster Still if it was around, I'd hitch a ride on it.
Clementon lake park was saved by Indiana beach
I saw!
Why would you put slime streak over shredder? Lol
I have more fun on Slime Streak since it's smoother and has cool visuals.
I never rode Hell Cat I really want to I haven’t been on 25 coasters in my home state here
Hell Cat opening year would've been great.
I rode the jersey devil but I don’t think it’s as good as el toro (that’s because it doesn’t have as much airtime as expected, especially at the end)
I agree Jersey Devil peters out at the end.
Personally I would have Bizarro lower than Great Nor'Easter. It's a great SLC now that it's retracked, but I think the forces, layout, and effects give Bizarro the edge. Glad to see Green Lantern lower than Superman!!
It was tight between Bizarro and Nor'Easter for me.
My list would be a bit hard for me
I like ranking coasters.
Sea serpent?
I assume you mean the Morey's one? It's an above average boomerang, but not my cup of tea.
@@CanobieCoasteryeah that 1, so it wasnt worthy enough to make it? And did u ride it this year b cuz it got the new trains.
I didn't ride it this year, but even the other boomerangs I've ridden with the new trains wouldn't make this list (except Speed of Sound but that's because of the lights/music).
@@CanobieCoaster oh ok
I don’t think I would put Batman The Dark Knight on my list
I put it ahead of some of the other clones.
You forgot the Sea Serpent 🐍 at Moreys pier.
It's not a favorite of mine, even with the new trains.
@@CanobieCoaster its been re-tracked apparently much smoother.
@@justincartwright9775 I found it to be one of the smoothest boomerangs even before the retrack.
Pirate's Hideaway better be on here lol (Jk I've heard it's pretty bad)
It’s not just horrible it’s boring
I don't hate it as much as some, but it's not good.
I was kind of eagerly awaiting the horrible and braced for pain. Oddly, I was disappointed because it was smooth and not jarring in the slightest for me. The only part of its reputation that held true for me was the ridiculous way this apparently highly themed coaster is an empty metal storage container with no theming at all on the inside.
I love nj because of king da ka
Great ride!
@@CanobieCoaster bro are you excited for Xmas
GaleForce is second in Jersey way better then anything at AD and GADV besides Toro
I was torn if I preferred it to Sandy's. It's certainly up there.
just no
Wish my state had at least 10 rollercoasters 🤣
MA is carried by Six Flags New England.
How come Harley Quinn’s train wasn’t on here?
Solid ride for kids, but it's not in the top 25.
But isn’t runaway Tram very similar to it? And slime streak is for kids. Have you seen those lap bars?
@@jemproductions5989 Slime Streak's trains are awful for adults, but that has great visuals and some aggressiveness to it. Runaway Tram has some good turns. Harley Quinn is rather dull outside of the first drop in the back.
I know it’s opinion, but timmys coaster is way better than clone dark knight, where else are you gonna ride that unique ride?!? Not Feelin it
I agree Timmy's is more thrilling, but I'm not a fan of that ride model. Again, this list is my opinion.
No way JD will beat Toro.
I think it will if it's paced like the original Raptors.
yeah i think Jersey Devil will easily beat el toto when it opens
No way
I prefer the original Raptors to El Toro and this looks better.
@@CanobieCoaster agreed
@@HangtimeThrills what would u rather have: 4 great airtime moments of airtime, or 10 great moments of airtime, and the airtime is almost as strong but has way more variety and 3 good inversions, jersey devil beats toro in almost every way
@@MillenniumForceMan ive ridden toro and I’ve seen jdc no way in hell it’ll be better, it’s a model meant to be tight and compact but they made the layout long drawn out and forceless
This ranking gets me so angry lol
Everyone will rank these differently.
