Very cool vid! As I'm watching ur vid I'm feeding my fish and two specific fish are a 18" orinocensis and a similar sized H. Lacerdae. The wolf will hang out with the bass at times especially during feeding along with my trio of dorado that are similar in size to the other two fish.
No, that is _Hoplias curupira_ , the species _H.lacerdae_ does not occur anywhere near this region it is found in Brazil and Uruguay and tied to the Rio Parana/Uruguay basin. The nearest place where it occurs is thousands of kilometers away.
You can actually see a Heros libirifer at 0:02 in this video! There is some video of Heros in nature in the "Heros Guide" , check for it on the channel.
there may well be, and it is usual to see 2-3 species in the same habitat together. Given how prolific Cichla species are, with thousands of young and only few becoming adults I think we do not see the hybrids as adults very often.
that is just an assumption, maybe the wolf fish catches a Leporinus, spits out the eyes and best bits for the bass to eat, then serves Brunello. We just don't know.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you!

@@belowwater I've already watched that, when I first subscribed to your channel, I went back and watched your videos from the beginning!
@@MakoyUnggoy great to hear, now we need a few thousand more people that do that! There is also some really good Heros footage in the Araguaia videos.
I didn't know that different cichla species share the same habitats in the wild, I wonder if natural hybrids happen sometimes 🤔

"I hope someone treats you like this wolffish" .. you mean stealing my food from my mouth and acting as if it was always his/hers? Nice.

Romantic
Do you do this in saltwater too?
in theory yes, but i have not found time to put something together.
