How Germany, arguably one of the most important nations in the game, got into the hands of that player is totally beyond me. Guy couldnt even draw a rectangle and click units into battles, not even talking about his love for offensive forest battles

That was one heck of a "proxy war". How does that work in your rule set? I would think sending any troops, let alone most of your army, makes it not a proxy war. Proxy should mean support is limited to financial, intelligence and other goods.

This means you cannot add/receive any war goals (even indirectly, such as someone taking land and transfering it to you) and your land is considered neutral for all intents and purposes. If the war escalates into a great war then all proxy participants are elevated to full war participants. You cannot join as a proxy and then later decide you want to join as a full member prior to the war turning into a great war unless you peace out and justify your own separate war goal. (i.e. USA joins the south african war as a proxy/volunteer, but then after joining realizes he wants to take land in africa. he would have to separate peace and then justify his own war goal. he could not separate peace and then get called in again as a full participant.) You cannot join a great war as a proxy." This normally should have been a great war, so perhaps this isn't a great example, but I think the rule is flawed. Perhaps I'll go more indepth about the "proxy problem" like I did the Nuke Problem.

If he EVER intended to join (no matter the side), he could have mobilized, consolidated anything, and yet he didn't. Also, I completely agree the nukes are no fun. Grtting stuck in lose-lose situations when you've been fighting tooth and nail for ANYTHING is bullshit.
