Just about 2 months later than I meant to be, but at long last this short series has reached its conclusion. It was very fun to go through over this session and relive some of it. I originally wasn't going to make these videos as the original recordings had quite a lot of white noise in the background, but I later found out that I could use some audio filters to make it much less noticable in the video. Although there were some unrelated noise issues with finale analysis, that's more so an issue with my current microphone.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and I look forward to making similar videos in the future!

Vic2 MP really is hit or miss. You either have idiots screaming in chat about not being able to get their mappies done, whining and crying about how they lose a single war after dominating the campaign, or a brief 30 minute respite where cooperation and communication is immaculate and people don't take advantage of a new person subbing by outright lying about past diplo. Well done, looking forward to the next video.

Arcadia player here --- abandoning Western Germany was indeed baffling, since we made approximately zero progress after occupying it. You're 100% right that they should have pushed in the Baltics immediately.

Elbians player here. What a fantastically terrible campaign to have played in. I understand the criticisms, but in my defense you kinda downplayed the aforementioned economic situation. I'm not entirely sure what changes had been made to the mod, but it resulted in the money supply vastly lower than it should've been in comparison to other mods, most of which was held by the Scandinavian bloc. My alliance was more or less on the verge of bankruptcy for the duration of the war and the standoff leading up to it, which was a contributing factor to the more defensive stance; we just didn't have the money to commit to such a risky play. Plus as other comments mentioned, the tech difference was significant and armies were more unevenly placed.
The lack of diplo was definitely a skill issue, everyone agreed we were stupid for not trying it. There was basically no optimism in our alliance at that time so we let ourselves doom into thinking DM wasn't worth reaching out too. I had backstabbed him in a really cruel way to form my map earlier in the campaign so at the very least I didn't want to be the one to do it. He still hates my guts and I don't blame him.
Anyway, mistakes were made, lessons were learned, and the campaign was purged from our collective conscious until you decided to make a series on it. Everyone involved has gone on to have much better campaigns than this one 🙏
If your money supply was so low, that means you should have gone all in for a quick win, not sat back and guaranteed a slow loss

I really like how everyone on the other side of the war was coping that DM was on the same side as Scandi, but also completely leave out the part where their terrible decision making in Germany lost them the war, where DM fought 0 battles. As well as the fact that two of the DM’s biggest geopolitical enemies (minus scandi) were on the other side of the war, meaning there’s actually justification for them joining.
Weevil you mention in your war analysis section that due to machine guns the eastern bloc should have been able to hold the huge frontline in Germany. However Russia and Japan did not actually have machine guns due to their large tech disadvantage and most of the enemy brigades were either busy getting wiped in Italy or not at the front. At the start of the war the enemy alliance had at most 700 brigades to hold Germany with only 250 being equal tech to Scandi/Burg, while the rest were several crucial techs behind. Meanwhile Scandi/Burg had 770 brigades with good tech and were supported by Ameriga/Arcadia/Batavia too. Their alliance also had worse industry. It's clear that if they had tried to hold the massive front in Germany they would have been rapidly overrun, their only hope was to fight defensively and try bleed your alliance out with attrition and reinforcement penalties in enemy territory.
Hmm, good point and like the idea. However, both the Elbians and Hungary were up to date on mil tech (no one can really get to full 20 before 1875) and Russia was getting machine guns at the start IIRC. Just because someone has 12 mil tech doesn't mean they necessarily got the first 12 available to them, sometimes people go out of order. (Although maybe I should have mentioned this).
