They wanted him to find the true ending. This implies that everyone is following the wrong path. With that in mind that at minimum means trying to help the known heroine might be wrong. The worst is that the known heroine is not the heroine. What I mean is the false heroine could be the one he is supposed to help in the first place

it bugs me when the MC tries not to change the plot of the story line. its " i cant do this , i cant do that " if i do it will change everything.. Well thats the point , thats why you are in the plot
True but changing original plot line might have disastrous affects it’s like in those movies that somebody or some entity knows the future but they can’t tell anyone what’s going to happen otherwise it would mess everything up and may cause problems or potential ones 🤷🏻♀️ but I don’t disagree with you either the game clearly wanted him to change the original plot hence “true ending” that’s why he’s there so Idk why he’s being so cautious to try not to change anything but he is already changing the plot a bit
And what I find that doesn’t make sense is flame says she knows the plot and how everything is supposed to go so why on earth did she not take the wand she was supposed to chose? Mc said it may give her a better chance at the good ending if so why didn’t she want that?
