There were certain incidents where Japanese people got sick and it was found it was due to high levels of pesticides in the food. People will watch this and think how grateful they are that they food they get in their home country is not similarly contaminated. However, what they may not realize is just how much food comes from China and is not labelled as such.
    Here in Canada one of the national news programs did an expose and found that something like 100% of fish like tilapia came from China. They went over there and filmed these fish pounds (obviously with great secrecy) and showed that were being similarly contaminated with chemical laden water. This fish was then exported to Canada and labelled "Made in Canada".
    Many countries labelling laws state that at least 51% of COSTS must be incurred in the labelling country. So buy $490,000 of sketchy CCP tilapia, pay your CEO $510,000, and voila, Made in Canada.

      Labeling laws are different for every industry. Labeling laws for a made in USA flashlight is completely different to a "farmed in USA" food product. You're either completely misunderstanding the way it works, or there's something wrong with Canada. That "pay the CEO $510k" scenario would never work in most places. The salary for the CEO is not a cost of the product.

    • @angrydragon4574
      @angrydragon4574 Před 2 lety +3

      Here in the US the typical workaround is for companies to label who the distributor is without saying the country of origin for the product. They usually do that to hide the fact that their products were likely made in China.

      The scary thing is that you probably do and don't even realize. For example, I remember reading about a few large hard cider brands that actually use apple pulp from China, rather than domestic apples. It's kind of hard to tell how much of this garbage has crept into our food at the ingredient level.

      @@mtnvortex I'm probably safe there as there are a lot of apple producers around here and a place that makes cider. Its things like vitamins and medicines that most concern me as its pretty well near impossible to know where these are sourced.

    In a flood of complacency he is the one Shouting against the wind, against being silenced, he alone, tries to change things.
    In another life "Green-Bucket Man" could have been "Tank-man" standing at Tianmen-square stepping in the way of tanks to help, protect and save people.

As though he thought he was above the law.
    I think the son was eventually arrested & sentenced and his dad was forced to resign but does anyone remember who the son & father were?

    The Tofu Mafia is one of the deadliest criminal organisations in China.
    The oldest faction is known as the Bean Curd League, but newer groups have emerged like the Soyboys, the Tofu Eaters, and the Dau-Fu-Paws from Hong Kong, led by their ruthless boss, Stinky Tofu.
    Their members are often seasoned gangsters, but due to their spongy nature, they absorb a lot of the local flavor. They are also relatively high in protein, and are quite popular with vegetarians.

    In the early 1700's there was a Cholera outbreak in London that was traced to a contaminated well. The well was in front of a house where someone came down with Cholera. The toilets in this house emptied into a cesspool under the house, which was a common practice during that time. The level of the water in the well was lower than the level of the cesspool. Sewage from the cesspool seeped down into the well, and scores of people who used this well died from Cholera. That situation is essentially identical to the well in this video. Dirty water is above and right next to this well. The well is clearly polluted. This Chinese city has water and sanitation practices that are the same as 1700's London. They are 300 years behind the times.
