This is so helpful and relatable. I did not mind renting because im not in a rush to deal with homeownership. But the way they up prices every year at these basic apts... it just doesnt make sense to keep renting.
Welcome back & great video! Sorry to hear about your increase in rent 😕 Have you thought about house hacking with a family member when you buy a home? Also research assumable mortgages and seller financing which can potentially help you get a lower mortgage rate instead of traditional bank mortgages
For my mental health I don’t think living with a family member would work 🫠😂. But I have that about a duplex! Never heard of assurance mortgages I’ll look that up, thank you!
My heart truly hurts for this generation who are trying to just afford a simple apartment or purchase their first home … my husband and I make good money together and if we had to pay that rent amount it would alter our lifestyle completely. Crossing fingers that things turn around in a couple years for this economy 🤞🏻 It was good to see you Poo back up on my IG again and I’d love to hear about your journey through this process!
Yes that’s something I talk about with my parents a lot, how things have changed. I haven’t even told my grandparents how much my rent is because it would blow their minds 😂. I’m currently saving, looking into buying smaller properties and hoping interest rates come down by this time next year. Thanks for watching!
Yeah l live in a smart apartment. My rent is definitely more than my mortgage was before l sold it and moved across state. I've been in my apartment for a little over a year. I was able to negotiate my rent last year so my rent didnt go up this year but its still too much. I'm looking now to find a less expensive place. Yes l've been stressing too eventhough l do well financially, everything is expensive and l don't plan on buying again anytime soon.
Love this… I bought last year, super small .. honestly the prices with what my mortgage is and rent balances out ( I would be paying same ) taxes are going up and insurance too.. plus interest rate. The snow ball effect was super helpful in saving! Would love to hear about books. Thanks for sharing
Congrats on being able to buy! Right for what I'd ideally want, a mortgage would be higher than rent. Which is why I gotta get creative about with how to be a homeowner 😂. Glad to hear it about the books, I'll start thinking of what to share!
Girl I’m the same boat down to the renewal date. You are correct about the current state of rent all over the United States. I’m in a 1 bedroom (supposed luxury) that is going up to $2185. So I decided to move. Rents are declining some in the Atlanta area. I found a beautiful apt in an area that I love. My rent is $1544. I don’t want to move bc I love my current apt. But I’m definitely getting a good deal and can’t beat the price and area.
Yes, I would love for you to share about the books that you have been reading! Yes, these rent increases are out of control. I am looking into a tiny house because I want to own. The downside is it is hard to find a place to put a tiny house, if you do not own land. Recently, I had a situation where I was forced to give up my apartment and had to move in with family and I am ready to get out. The downside is the rent is too high for my salary. I would be interested in hearing your ideas for making more income, too. 🙂.
I was thinking about a tiny home too! Then like you said the issue is finding land. You either buy land or rent it, like at a RV park. Buying land may be too expensive though, you’d have to find the right situation where the numbers make sense. I hope your living situation changes soon and you’re able to get a place of your own!
My renewal lease is up on October 1st, also with a rent increase. Would love to hear about the financial books your reading. I love the color of your lipstick! Do you mind sharing the brand name and color?
Yes to the book reviews and So looking forward to the return of your budget videos and seeing how your trim. I feel you girlie, rent is crazyyy everywhere now, such a shame. 🫤 I feel like homeownership slips farther away from my grip year after year.
Welcome back! I agree that cutting back only goes so far. We have to increase the other side of the equation, income.
Thank you! Yeah at some point, we gotta make more money 💵

Wow, over $2,100 for a 1 bedroom?!? You definitely made the right financial decision to move!
