Honestly the only issue I have with banger racing is the fact there is classic cars from like the 70's onwards in that carnage.

Clear to see not a lot of welding goes on in the Dutch banger scene, which is a good thing really. Over in England, cars are getting too much welding done, the cars are getting too strong, almost like stock cars, drivers getting hurt more.

Is it last man standing, or total number of laps, or a scoring system like boxing? Lol
Chuck Sherron just make sure you pass the chequered flag as first after 10 laps or so. But at some you'll get trophies for best entertainer, wrecker, hit etc
It depends if there’s more than 2 cars standing it’s a race to cross the line but if only one car is left standing then they automatically win

I am from the the US. I understand demo derby here. Last one left moving wins. I just can't wrap my head around this. Is there a "winner" in this madness? Do you have a best hit judge? Is it better to wreck out someone than to finish the race? Don't get me wrong I love this. All of these are great but is this a competition or just who has the best wreck?
First one to pass the chequered flag wins but most prefer crashing. Sometimes there are awards for best entertainer, best hit etc. But it is about the racing actually.
I still haven't caught the concept of this yet
The concept of banger race is:
1. every heat has 10 rounds,.
When the heat has started, everything is allowed to win, like wrecking your opponent, aslong as you can finish 1st.
2. You can also win prices, for being the biggest entertainer, like crashing full speed into a heap of cars. (making the biggest hit)
3. at the end of the day, all cars that still run, will enter the track for the "Demoltion Derby".
They will keep racing, and wrecking until the last car that still drives.
And obviously the "Last man standing" wins the Demo Derby.

Someone explain to me, do you get points for taking out your own car in this type of racing? Just trying to understand why anyone would slam their car into something that they know will just stop them instantly & kill their own car.

The more modern cars like the merc e class could still be used on the road. The older cars are beyond restoration and normally bought from car collectors.

There’s clearly nothing in the back of the cars. The crumple zones are TOO good. One hit and your car is FINISHED. Fill that trunk with something heavy, stiff and durable to make the car survive more than one hit in the back.
They all have H frames with fuel and battery box bolted to it.Drivers door plate floor plate wing to wing water tank.no radiator.So the rear crumples upto the H frame They all have hiab cranes on the back of there trucks which pull out the back ready for the next race.Easy bend easy mend.amazing what comes back out for another time.

I have a full new respect for import cars!
A lot of these are American cars. Impalas, Caprices, Thunderbirds, Lincoln Town Cars(Mostly the limos)and so on. No idea how they got there, but they are bangin just like the imports. Nobody has an an edge with this type of destruction.

So, forgive my American ignorance of these events, but I see some are held on a circuit and others are like a derby type event. Is it a common thing to have five, six, seven, eight cars pile into each other? Is that just a 'because I can' thing or do laps not matter? Again, not criticizing, just trying to understand this awesome vehicular carnage.
nwvfd22 bangerraces are always held on a oval track, tarmac or dirt. There are different types of events which attrects different type of drivers: racers or wreckers. The crowd is there just for the wreckers. They all go in just because they can. Once a year the Unlimited Bangers world final is held at Ipswich. At that race the racers come together with their smart cars and whizzy engines to take the big trophy home. But there's a few in the main race aiming for the leaders. You never know who's going to win ;)
The car pile up is called jacking, it’s mainly to have a bit of fun get the adrenaline going and give the audience something to look at

The last time that happened was more than 15 years ago because someone got out of his car during the race and got hit. No penalty if its by accident. Just like f1.

We dont use rollcages. We use h frames which are placed behind the driversseat and stop the impact of a hit.
