What a great stoppage from Mark Smith there and from Borschev that didn't follow up when he didn't need to..
I give huge respect to Borschev.
Every fighter is amped to finish the fight, I get that.
Borschev *got him* and he stopped nearly immediately.
Which, to me, is a victory in itself.
I think he was going for that extra shot though. Mark smith interfered which forced him to put his right arm on the mat.

@@tristanjoao3464 To me it looks like he prepares to follow up and has time and space to do so, but recognizes that the opponent is out and that the ref is calling it. To me it just looked like great situational awareness but i could be wrong🤷♂️

Hopefully they can meet again in the future now the Duncan has won his ufc contract. Duncan gets more experienced this will be a showdown. Respect fae Scotland.
Striking Defense is beyond crazy good, head movement is top notch, ground game not as much but at close range his striking is just lethal.
@DisLB He just needs a bit more work on wrestling. His striking is remarkable!
@PJ Rivera his head was as still as a stone the whole time. All slava had to do was put his jab down the middle and he would find duncan every time
@DisLB He has already beaten 2 really good wrestlers in his UFC career. This one and his recent debut. Its okay to get taken down as long as you can protect against submissions and get back to your feet quick. Look at someone like Izzy, he has gotten pretty good at that in a relative short amount of time.

I'm going to give Borschev some *MAJOR* props on two fronts.
1. That *truly was* a beautiful left hook. Man. It doesn't *get* more perfect than that. Good job. That hook belongs in a museum.
2. Borschev *could* have raced in there and nailed him 3 - 6 more times, but stopped the second he realized how hard he got him. I always *understand* when fighters need to finish the fight, but I always appreciate when *they use restraint* against someone who is knocked out. Good for him.
BTW, kudos to both fighters. I don't want to take anything away from Duncan.

Gotta see more. It's not saying much that he's landing like that on Duncan because Duncan looked sloppy and badly inexperienced. No head movement at all or evasion, telegraphs everything he throws. Rushes in and gets countered way too often. Throws wild, winging strikes that can be seen a mile away. Not getting on the hype train just yet. Borschev is clearly experienced, but I don't see him hanging with the real LW killers in the division just yet. I have no illusions that Uriah Faber can get a lightweight all the way to a championship fight. He's only good with featherweights and bantamweights. He's never taken a lightweight all the way there before.

Some constructive criticism:
Don't know if I'm alone in this but I feel like naming the winner in the title kind of ruins the fight for me, like knowing the ending to a movie before watching.
A title like "Perfect Left Hook Secures A UFC Contract" would be much better in my opinion
