  • In this video i talk about 30km zones. Schools, Parks and Playgrounds are often zoned in 30km\h areas where the road is marked by a double yellow line. The start of the double line equals to the beginning of a 30km zone and vice versa. Only signs with the speed limit underneath have the obligatory 30km. Other signs may be just warning sings or parks or schools without a 30km mandatory speed limit.

Thank you for the tip about the double yellows!! I never noticed and sometimes it’s tricky finding those opposite signs! I got a fail because missed a park zone that started in a school zone because I was trying to find the backward signs so bad aha so this might help for my retest

I passed my class 5 yesterday so I just wanted to come back here and said thank you so much for the video. It had been always a difficulty for me to figure out where 30km/h speed limit ends. But thanks to these useful tips, esp the double line tip, I am now more confident. Once again, thank you very much

Thanks for the video! I am having trouble sometimes figuring out where the playground ends (not always easy to notice its back, at least school signs are uniquely shaped but not playground diamonds), thanks to the double line hack I will now know what to pay attention to

so cool, I see that there is a hack of checking for double yellow lines when u are in the school zone or playground zones, I know it's not always but most of the time!
    Thanks for that!

Thank you for this! Just moved to BC and didn’t know how to tell when the school zone limit ends. All good now!
PS: In Alberta, there’s a clear sign on the same side that tells you when it ends.

Do you have to slow down to 30 km/h at the yellow signs that are normally about 50 yards before entering roundabouts ?

i believe that the end zone sign should be displayed explicitly on the right. Will be lot easy and helpful
