Though it has good dispersion values on the move and when turning the hull, when turning the turret its way too bad and besides the stb armor is not reliable so i agree stabless stb is questionable

I'll agree it's a liability, but it's also a detrement on quite a few tanks if you don't take them. The only way to stop that though is through balance. Unless you throw your credit card at it ofcourse.

My favourite tank since the week it released, only tank i rushed free xp as i really loved its aesthetic and then loved the gameplay, most played by far.

I used to play this game a lot and mediums were always my favorites. I enjoyed most of them, but that STB was always a funny experience. The way you can make it work in completely unexpected positions is hilarious. It's kinda like when the Leo1 came out and you could race that into positions only light tanks could previously reach early. If you can make use of such a special characteristic the game used to be quite fun.
The gun of the STB is trollish. So for anyone wanting to pick that up, you have to relearn how you initially player the relatively awesome t8 and t9. Don't think you're as good as an Sconq hull down, people can smack your cupolas pretty well. This tank works best by just bein an annoying mosquito shooting tanks at mid range. Ofc you can hold your ground well against other MTs, because of your DPM, but don't think of this tank as an invincible sniper/hull down beast. It's just a fast firing tank.

@@RodinToek STA's DPM can carry you to tier 9. Don't hesitate to use that amazing 275 pen gold round to snipe at long distances. Use vents, Rammer, and Vstabs for balance, and switch to Optics for open maps.
The 219 base pen is also great, so sniping will always be your best playstyle. And yes, don't try to push aggressively with it since you lack HP and armor to sacrifice when getting spotted. Only trade when 1v1ing low/half hp enemies.

If you play current version of Onslaught you can actually feel what STB would be if it didn't have the super trollish gun it has right now. Such a beautiful version of STB that is sadly locked behind a super tryhard sweaty mode.

That tank needs a significant gun buff. Ramming is fun but it's not enough to make competitive. Better accuracy, dispersion and much higher gold pen would do it.
Go hull down, spam gold and thats it.
Also if you have lets say 5k dmg done, and there is 800hp target and 100hp target, go for kill steal because it gets you more xp than just plain 490 dmg
This tank is so rewarding if you are playing free to play, whenever I feel I am not doing well i just swap to this tank and boom, it feels so good to play it!

It's not rly a difficult tank to play, it's simple. It has rly strong frontal armor with a weak belly, the turret has practically no weak spots as well as being rear mounted so it's suitable for sidescraping. Trash mobility and trash gun handling so it misses a lot. It's rly just a brawling heavy suited for the frontlines

@@thetech_rider9654 u can check out Skill's index page, tanks there has many builds from streamers. I personally go for either turbo, vert stabs, gun rammer or hardening, vert stabs, gun rammer. It rly suffers imo without the gun rammer but maybe u could drop it in more long range open maps in favor of something like improved aiming. Drop turbo in close quarters maps

When the hydronumatic suspension tilts the tank forward doesn’t it tilt the turret and front plate as well which doesn’t add an extra angle to the turret and front shell which defeats the purpose of using gun depression. My point being that a tank using 10 degrees of natural gun depression has the same effective armor on the front of the tank as the same tank using 10 degrees of natural gun depression plus an extra 4 degrees using a hydronumatic suspension.

I'm currently grinding the Japanese MTs line because of the event. I really want to get STB-1 on my hand for a long long time because of how MAD the raw DPM that STB-1 could unleash.
I'm currently on Type 61 with 50k EXP to go for the STB-1, and I must say I fell in love with Type 61 play style with it's 105mm Rifled cannon. Japanese 105mm cannon is god-damn troll when the RNG is not on your side, but when it is, it feels amazing pumping up those damage to the enemy. And I like the gameplay phrase on Type 61, snipe and pump as much damage on early game, start to be aggressive and trade HP on mid game at mid range or assist on brawling in the frontline, then farm with it's lovely DPM on late game (if you manage to stay alive on mid game lol).
But I notice that STB-1 playstyle is more of a spearhead in early game where you take crucial ridgeline cross-fire area and hope you pump as much damage as possible without losing too much of HP. Which is risky and could be expensive to play when you fail on that crucial ridgeline, as a F2P player, sticking with Type 61 might be a better choice as Tier 9 is not as expensive to play as Tier 10. But STB-1 is 1 second faster on the reload though compared to Type 61, which is so tempting to get, also crazy -14 degree of gun depression, literal ridgeline warrior.
The overall Japanese MTs line is decent though, Chi-To is alright. Chi-Ri is very very awful that I ended up using 40k of my free experience and researching blueprint on STA-1 just to skip that absolute terrible tank, you can't pen shit unless you spam gold which is not the case as I'm a F2P player. STA-1 is alright, similar playstyle to Type 61. Type 61 is awesome beside the huge-ass cupola which ruin it's -10 degree of gun depression potential on ridgeline fight.
i agree except for chi ri. i actually loved the the autoloading gun but its a very hard tank to play and if you dont fire a decent amount of gold it can be a pain
I am on 60k xp in my Type too.
I must say tho the STA1 isnt all that good but it actially wasnt bad.
Whit a gun rammer you can get its reload to 4s.
Its so easy to get 1.5k dmg whit it in no time even when gowing against bigger tiers.
And yes 1.5k isnt much but considering the tank and if you are an averadge player, well an averadge of 1.5k dmg a game isnt bad. When you have low pen and low alpha.
Chi-ri used to be great before armor creep, back when you actually met tanks you could pen with AP
about 40k xo for me on the type 61, unfortunately I used my Vinnie discounts on the STB-1 before they announced the TOTT :(
I don't understand the problem with credits and loading gold for f2p players. I stopped spending money couple years ago and still have consistently over 20mil credits.
You can get a day of premium from all kinf of events and then just play t8 premiums with credit boosters for 2 or 3 hours and make ton of credits.

I think masterclass should be more about map awareness, when and where to relocate, tactics and how to deal with certain tanks instead of Min-max.
I stopped playing WoT, and I stopped watching WoT videos. But when I saw QB talking about my favorite tier 10 medium, I clicked.
Why does the start of the final replay start with a 3/0 difference before the timer has even finished at the start of the battle?
I just ventured into tier 10 territory, with the Leapord 1, my first T10 tank, and I'm loving it. I'm working toward the STB-1 and am loving the Type 61 and really looking forward to the STB-1. Very timely video for me!!!!

@quickybaby that isn't actually the ingame 30B, since according to the site the 30B there has 420 alpha, when in reality it has 390, the REAL ingame 30B is actually just behind the STB-1 in DPM, you can tell by the 390 alpha

Currently grinding it. STA-1 is painful for me because i am not that good (somewhat under 4k Battles with 49,4% Winrate) . Struggeling espacially on the corridor maps where Hulldown is King. I hope i get to the STB-1 before i lose my mind on it . ^^
As a fellow 49% player i must say.
Play like a sniper ( same for Type 61 ) and get a gun rammer for a 4s reload.
It can get some good damage. I managed to get an averadge of 1.5k a game in my final battles.
Its still not a great tank but it can be better.
@@stefankatsarov5806 its not a sniper tank...leopard is ways better for this role, not just becuz of the general dispersion also becuz of the relatively low shell velocity on goldshells. You might wanna try to play this tank as it should and maybe end up with more than 49%.
@@stefankatsarov5806tier 8 and 9 are only snipers if they are bottom tier in mm and even then only on certain maps.
You have to play them on semi distance to close engagement and use that dpm in yoir favor
So to anyone who actually wants to mark this tank and not leave it to the chance of the matchmaker, use V stabs, Hardening, Rammer
Pick on the last field mod the one that gives more track hp, and for the second slot boost survivability, this gives 530 hp to your tracks, since you can quite effectively peek with your nose at around a 75 deg angle.
Also for the most consistent damage in todays wot you have to fight the heavies, so not having Hardening is a huge missplay

This tank is fun but very situational. Its hard to perma track because everyone and their mother use hardening. A lot of times you are just trading shots or shooting and retreating over a ridge and 360 alpha can feel like a mosquito bite in those situations. Still I enjoy it more than the Udes nowadays because I just hate the Udes' shells.
Great seeing the STB, but new high level JPN HT reviews when? I'm holding off on grinding the T8-T10 until I hear what you think.
Weird that you showed battles from year ago and even more.
Running my stb-1 with bond rammer, bond vents, and playing with the 3rd. Using an upgraded experimental mobility device. But also with bond vert stabs. Reload down to 5.17s. 4100 Dpm. Averaging 2600 dmg per match after 731 games and 79% hits. I absolutely love this tank.
Ha, play that position now on Redshire in the STB and your turret is turned into holy cheese right quick

All of the premium content on QB's free account has been available for free within the game, either with mission marathons, events, and such like. There is a surprising amount of premium content made available for those willing to put the grind and effort into it.

Unfortunately I'm a WoT console player(the game is horrible) but I recgonized tge 3D skin you have on your STB-1.
That is an *entirely* different tank on WoT console. It isnt a skin, its a while ass seperate premium tank that is quite OP.
It's a Tier 9 premium tank called the Teefbreaka - it has a speed mode and a 15 round auto loader/autocannon.
We got shafted with a 300 USD bundle for re-skinned Tech Tree tanks sold to us as premiums with different mechanics.
If anyone is interested - tge reaining vehicles are: Reaper's Scythe(Object 140 at Tier 8), the Nemesis(E-100 but TD at Tier 10), and the Ignis Purgatio(Era 2).
We did get ONE unique tank called the Leman Russ which is one that I presume is directly taken from the 40k Universe and plopped into WoT.

Both hardening and turbo is when you always high on adrenaline.
Safest way to play stb is vents, rammer, vstabs.
Though, for years I've never consider using stabilizing equipment on stb.

I second this. So many people say the armor is very good, but me being a cheeky hull down guy I’m always getting penned in the cupolas or side armor overmatched. Need some pointers on how to manipulate it better.

@@matthewkabanuk443 not just that, but in tier 9 and 10 people usualy shoot gold so your upper plate won't block too much either. So you have a med with a bad gun, tragic gundep, bad mobility and armor that rarely works. At least the camo is great, but the tank is very much overhyped. Current hulldown meta made this and almost all other soviet tanks pointless.
The UDES needs a buff. The STB is a better tank in every regard except camo.
This really is the most pay-to-grind line in the game, every single tank from tier 5 to 9 is garbage and you're basically griefing your team by playing them

Look at the top of the screen at the start of game 4 qb's team has killed 3 enemies before the game started

The real problem with the gun is not the gun but the mobility of Stb 1, it's too fast compared to the t9 type 61 but somehow type 61 feels like it has the better handling. but the truth is just because of the mobility

You have to be a really good player to make this tank work. The gundep is certainly a highlight, but for me this tank is not working at all, I would rather play the E50M or the Centurion AX which has almost the same dpm, but more accurate gun, and better mobility overall.
My win ratio with the STB-1 is 9 points higher than my (just sold) 48 Patton. And regarding 3rd mark of excellence: haha, hahaha, hahah, not gonna happen.
The STB is great, but I'd rather play the CAX.
I'm only mentioning this cause QB talked about the batchat buff and wanting to three mark it, but I feel like the Batchat, needs to be reworked or something instead of just a buff, To me i think like a partial autoloader and auto reloader system, like a 2 shot auto reloader, then a 2 or 3 shot autoloader. I think having a system like that be introduced on what was the original autoloading champion i think would be really fitting. Probably more like a 2 shot auto reloader, then a 2 shot autoloader, then by the time you've fired all 4 of those you will have one of the auto reloading shots reloaded or almost loaded to make it five for those moments where in the current batchat you would just go and assassinate a tank, but it needs more flexability, and to me i feel as if that would be a decent way to change it but also make it similarish to how it is currently played

I never made this tank work for me. Turret is not that tough and gun is a stuff of nightmares - it hits nothing. There are so many better meds on tier x

There's always room to learn on any tank. Technically anyone can play every tank in game. With the Tiger I being so popular, it could be good to see how to play it better. And the Ferdinand is a tank that used to rely on flat thick armour, to learn how to better adapt to modern gameplay I think a master class on both would be useful. Maybe even master class the Shermans for their variety and popularity.

zero skill commander (or just a zero skill crew member) is a crew member which you recruited that typically has the perk brothers in arms already trained. The cool part is, is that this perk is trained to 100% but the perks you train after that are not affected by you already having that one perk trained (subsequent perks require more and more xp) and as such is regarded a zero skill crew member.
You can see if you have one of these in a tank by clicking on the crew member and you will see a little upwards arrow in the (typically) brothers in arms box.
Basically a zero skill crew member gets one skill for free and they become more and more valuable the more skill they acquire compared to a regular.

won't happen, because they already have been adding a lot of basically fictional tanks, so they will just keep inventing new ones.

I'm amazed someone is making this tank work. The gun is horrible, the hull is paper and HE pennable and the turret gets penned in the cupola 10/10 unless you play someone without hands.

I hate this tank, it is with the Kranvagn (which I stopped playing it before they nerf it) has 14% WR of 7 battles I played in each, in both tanks my teams dies withing 3-5 minutes, so it is either my bad luck or ****up MM/RNG

"Reasonable results for everyone." that is an abject fallacy, as my sub 45% win rate in this turd proves. Nearly everyone on NA server at tier 10 fires gold ammo. This tank's turret becomes absolute butter and completely unreliable. The only thing left it has going for it is the DPM, given it's lackluster gunhandling.
