Honestly, 'Shrek 2' is actually a great movie. The first is pretty much only remembered for nostalgia and memes, but the sequel is downright HILARIOUS.
The scene where Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin played still stands out to me. It was such a fun movie.

In terms of the order of when I discovered them, Sebscreen is the most recent (but is actually my new favorite and I'm not just saying that, so... sorry "Just Trust Ash"! = he was the first one I discovered and first favorite, but now is my 2nd favorite haha). Like SessVlogs said, besides those top two, my preference for the rest changes depending on my mood too, but overall, #3 is probably Nickflix, #4 being TimotheeReacts, and #5 probably wadumin.
DreamWorks was working on this film and Prince of Egypt at the same time, and any time an animator got into trouble while working on Prince of Egypt, their punishment was to go work on Shrek.

4:26 I grew up with the version that has no orchestral/background music playing when Donkey sings here. HOWEVER, I think the version with the music makes its point better: Donkey is bursting out into a campy song like most Disney movies did at the time, and still do. The Shrek franchise and the character himself are the ANTITHESIS of anything Disney, so it's even funnier when the orchestra cuts out abruptly when Shrek shuts Donkey up from his song. No one but Donkey does this in the first movie. I recommend Sideways' extensive video on how the music choices in "Shrek" work so well!

I grew up watching both since I was raised bilingual (I've always thought learning new languages was fun) and I think they're equally funny in their own right! I love them each for different reasons. It'll always be an important part of my childhood and memories of my grandpa bc he used to tell me bedtime stories where Shrek and Donkey were recurring characters. My abuelo is still very much alive, but even when he no longer is, I'll always have the memories he left me.

RIP to Steve Harwell, the lead singer of Smash Mouth who made "All Star;" Steve passed away early last month. I highly recommend listening to Karu's orchestral metal cover of "All Star" on CZcams that he made in honor of Steve. It brought tears to my eyes like the onions Shrek compares himself to... and eats like apples.
Shrek is a pretty good movie…Shrek 2 on the other hand is a comedic masterpiece. It is honestly one of the funniest animated films ever made.
