- Part 2 of our road trip is traveling from Talkeetna to Girdwood for their annual Forest Festival. We met some friends that came in from Palmer and then we went in to Anchorage to do some shopping.

Beyond the dreary weather, nice to see Heather get to do some shopping and eating out too.

I love your Alaskan Fandangos. Look at all of those homes in those hills! I wonder if they have cable and internet. The accidents also happened not just by distraction but DUI was a huge factor. And people were going too fast for the road conditions. These outdoor festivals are what I used to live for but the weather didn't always cooperate. A lot of the food you show is made from scratch. That is my favorite, especially tacos. There is a mall near me called the Montclair Plaza that is being remolded and refurbished no so unlike Fairbanks and North Pole. Most of Those paintings and drawings are portraits; I always did landscapes. During the deep winter Fairbanks and North Pole was like one big landscape painting especially with the northern lights in the back ground, magical. I just scaned the link for the state fair. Technology today versus VHS and Western Union in the 80s really is two different 'animals'. A Raising Cains just opened up here to. I like what Heather is eating. I will go and try it.
I don't think I would want a house on a hill down there, one good landslide, poof! Yeah, I think too, people try to pass where they can't. My friend Jenny does a lot of the festivals and I watch her social media, rain or shine, it gets busy, but ooph, the weather. Artists here are so talented, but you are right, how can you go wrong with an Alaska background. The Farmer's Markets and vendor events do have the best food, my diet has been way off this summer 😝😅 We have an app for our Fair here in town, it is very helpful when trying to plan things, technology is amazing when you can work it 🥰 That Raising Cane's chicken is good, but that's all they do, makes sense.

What beautiful scenery! The houses on the side of the hill reminded me a little bit of when I lived in Pittsburgh. 😊
I can see that looking like Pittsburgh. The Seward Highway sure is pretty, I wish I saw whales 😉

Assuming the canopy of trees helped protect from the rain some.
Mall's are dangerous place's lol. People in Anchorage are fortunate to have events they can enjoy and reach.
Does Heather ever get to the point of purging her collections to donate?

It was so much fun! We got Tea from Sipping Streams of course. We were so lucky with the rain, it stopped when we got to the fair and started again after we left town. Yeah, I am not sure I would want to live in a big city for that reason, I would spend too much money. We use to donate a lot, then we had a full summer yard sale one year and haven't donated much after that. We have thought about Facebook Marketplace, but it is just easier to donate. I have several bags ready to go right now. 😉🥰

Glad to see the Diamond Mall is still doing well. We used to visit all the malls when we went to Anchorage, since we didn’t have a real mall in Fairbanks - the Bentley Hall.
We have Raising Canes here, they’re not bad. What did Heather think of them? Are you getting one in Fairbanks?

Good Afternoon! You are welcome 😊 I think at some point, both the Richardson and the Parks are going to have to be expanded. I love the Seward and Sterling Highways, I really want to take the train down there in the Fall. Spock Ears 😅 dating yourself there. Wild Scoops is dangerous, the ice cream is so good and you can't do it without the baked Alaska 🤤 The Dimond Mall is doing great, everyone is leaving the downtown area and moving to MidTown. Heather loved Raising Canes, we will have a problem when it finally comes to town, yes they are building one here. We had a great time on this trip, spent a lot of money, but it was fun. I should have taken my wings, LOL. I did not know about the Muslim Nails, I looked it up and a whole new nail selection popped up on my feed! Yeah, Box Lunch and Hot Topic can cause me pocketbook problems 🤣💸 Funny, I have become so accustom to not eating bread I didn't even think about a sandwich, I would have been totally up for that!!! But I do like cole slaw 😉

Girl I kid u not, I just had some Raising Kane! We don't have one in WV but my daughter brought me a six piece dinner from OH 😊. The donuts looked adorable ❤
What did you think? Heather really liked them, I do too actually, but not something I should eat. The donuts either 🤣🤤 they are malasada, a Hawaiian style donut, so yummy.
@AlaskanBearsVlogs Oh, I love it! Especially the sauce, lol. I'm not familiar with this type of donut, but they were decorated so cute ♡
I was not familiar with the malasadas either, then the truck started doing events, they would sell out so fast, people had to start ordering ahead, so we knew we had to try them. We have been hooked ever since.
Looks like you had fun!! Girdwood looks like a beautiful place. This Alaska life has shown it on their channel. I think Laurens sister has a 2nd home there. Mostly seen it during winter. They snowboard there. You really do pack a lot into summer. Always on the go. You probably need winter to recoup. ❤❤❤
I love Talkeetna, it just seems we always miss the things we want to do there because those things are closed. Bad timing I suppose. Yes, we go, go in the summer, that's why nothing gets done around the house, LOL. Winter is for resting 😅
Those ring nails are cool! How many times have I been at an event to have a nail flick off? Tons. 😅Also love the hair bows, I actually went out to find some in my area after I saw Heather wearing those bows on the cruise🎀 And yes to anything HK. Hot Topic & Lunch Box are 2 of my fav places to shop😊
The nail rings are really nice and easy. I may get some, I can't have long nails because of my job, these would work really well! The hair bows too! They are perfect for Heather. Yeah, you can't go wrong with Hot Topic and Box Lunch 🥰

I had a business years ago and made a lot from vendor events. I think that is part of the reason I love them so much. I spend the money traveling and feeding these girls, they spend the money on stuff. At my age, I don't really need things, earrings are nice, but they end up in Mary's jewelry box 😅
