    On-board the 20:44 First ScotRail Caledonian Sleeper from Inverness to London Euston on Monday 17th February (into the 18th) 2014!
    I tried to include as much detail as possible, however between Edinburgh & Preston, through the Lake District I decided to go and get a few hours sleep, so there is no footage between those two stops.
    A very wet, misty and snowy night through the Highlands came to end by being welcomed into the Capital by a goldern sunrise.
    Loco's were 67011 to Edinburgh, then 90028 took over for the WCML run.
    Thanks for watching!

    When I was a teenager (14/15) we were vacationing in Spain and took an overnight train from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid. The cabin was a "couchette", the seat were green velvet and folded down to make beds, circa 1973/74?
    I still recall getting up first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise over the spanish countryside - vivid mental images.
    Anyway, LOVED this video - brought back some fond memories.

    Thanks for sharing, brought back many memories of the Highland Sleeper, was a regular on it in the late 90s and early 2000s, loved waking up to a cuppa and a view across the moorland as we came in to Aviemore and then the connection from Inverness on up to Wick, then a weekend first back to London on the sunday service to Euston :)

    You are brave sticking your head out on a freezing night in the Highlands. Above and beyond the call of duty.

    on the destination board at Inverness it only said calling at Preston and Crewe yet watching the video it seems to keep stopping all over Scotland like Aviemore for example.

      Yes. To pick up only. You can’t board the overnight sleeper train in Inverness to just go round the corner to Aviemore.

    What does it cost to do a run on a sleeper service is it two tickets one the train fare and the sleeper supplement

    24:40 wait... why does it go eastbound? I thought Caledonian Sleepers run on the WCML, not ECML?

      @TrainPlaneHub  Před 10 lety +1

      It did go onto the WCML, it was heading back towards Haymarket...

      +Train_PlaneHub how do you get your train fare so cheap I was hoping to get my train fares cheap when I go on a train from Berwick upon tweed to Inverness than on the sleeper down to Euston station
