Nothing to do with Hitachi. Seats on trains in Japan are very comfortable. But nobody puts their feet on the seats there, or tries to damage them. They don't dump their litter there or draw on the walls. Train companies get more basic seats now partly to cram more in but partly in an attempt to make them last longer. People are scum here as evidenced by the photos of Bournemouth beach today. Much easier to blame foreigners though isn't it?
