I came here because I heard it on the "Wings of Pegasus" site. Best thing I've heard this year.
Lovely cover, and lovely motors in the background
Very nice
Well done.
David played guitar for John for a few years. You can see him on Austin City Limits with John in 96. Excellent.
Best emotional cover I've heard of this song. Had me tearing up.
Guitar is sweet intro.
Heart felt thank you very beautiful
John would've been pleased with this version. It tis very nice!!
Kathleen, you have a beautiful voice.
Excellent cover, understated and mellow, just like John himself...
I took guitar lessons from David Steele back in the late 80's and early 90's here in rural Indiana. He was somewhat of a child prodigy on guitar at that time. Good to see him still pickin'!
Wes
Beautiful and raw
Outstanding. John Prine would be impressed with your cover because it conveys feelings
Great interpretation of a great song by a great artist. John would be proud. 👍
A masterful example of the songwriting art, masterfully performed. Just delightful.
Great rendition! Thank you!
Lovely. Prine has a sincerity that quiets the mind; simplifies issues down to the source of contemplation. You can't go there without doing honor to that place of sincerity and beauty. Thanks for joining him and us.
Beautifully sung, great Prine tune.
Simply the finest cover of this song ever!
This is Absolutely Beautiful!!!!!
Two great voices blended to exquisitely interpret a timeless song
Beautiful version of this classic song. Great singing, guitar playing and harmonies. Possibly the best version I've heard,.and Kathleen Grace's incredible voice!
100% the best John Prine cover I have heard !!! Nice job ! John Taylor
Beautiful, thanks for sharing Kathleen.
Great!!!!
You have to have lived this song to truely feel this song. For me every word and every note tears at my soul and pulls on my heart. Best song ever written about my life, my loves, my sorrows.
I didn't know this song until I heard it on an Edwina Hayes CD.. I adore her voice, and it's a nice catchy song. Then I let my partner listen to the CD. I knew from her reaction, the look on her face that she knew it, and that she had lived every word.. In a way I'm glad it's just a nice catchy song to me..
Damm right you have to have lived this song to understand.
This one makes me cry.
great sound. you guys captured the song perfectly. prine is national treasure
Simply beautiful!
That's so amazing guys please send us out more. Miss JP beyond measure. This helps ease the pain
Very nice!
Absolutely beautiful.
So authentic and honest. Bravo
Now that was beautiful to blind man keep playing together you got it guys!
I loved your interpretation of the wonderful song.
Beautiful. Made me cry just thinking of how much we have all lost. John Prine RIP.
Great Job! --- Right up there with John & Nancy Griffith.... and that's saying a lot!
I concur...
Tis deadly...
Timing impeccable...
Neither rain, nor snow nor dark of night will keep John Prine from finding an arrow to find your heart strings. I listened to Fil on British guitarist analysis channel. He plays videos and interrupts to give his insightful thoughts. But for one of the few times, he let your song play through and he was impressed.
C'était une merveille.
I listened again it’s good actually
What a wonderful duet performance. This is the first Prine song I heard, and the song that made me go out and buy my very first guitar. Your version is so full of melody, harmony, passion, feeling, emotion, rhythm, and perfect timing. Wow! It takes me back to the first time I heard it. But even better. Thank you so much.
Stunnning!!!!
I love you, Kathleen! Great music!
Miss you John 💙🇺🇸
Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Feel like it was written for me but Prine had his way of doing that. Started listening to and learning his songs in the late 70's early 80's and am learning this one now. Doubt if it could sound any better than what I've just listened to. Kudos to you guys. Rest in Peace John.
Appreciated finding Kathleen Grace a while back .. this is a lovely duet.
Fantastisk. samstemt og intimt. Jeg nøt deres framføring av en herlig låt.
@ bengt aga; You just proved that great music is the universal language. I am a big fan of Nordisk Films.
Beautiful composition. Haunting. A variation solidly owned in your own style. I know the rest of the album is outstanding.
I love everything about this! Just so lovely.
Outstanding.
Absolutely beautiful. My cover is arranged differently but this version is great and commend you on. One of the most lovely recordings I've heard for some time too.
Ron
Beautiful
Simply beautiful.
Well done
Best cover of the song since Nanci
stunning.
Excellent! Thanks for that.
Beautiful voice ! Pretty Good!🌹💧🎶USA PRETTY AMAZING ...
Great performance ... and guitar :-)
Great rendition right up there with my favorite cover of this song by Alabama 3, the same group that sing the Sopranos theme
Good job
Nice.
Tribute song to John Prine for fans of John Prine by songwriter Dennis Callahan
I'm a huge Prine fan, and I enjoyed that very much! Really beautiful cover. Subbed :))
OMG that;s good...
Can I sing along? I'm a hound dog who loves this...
Saw this guy once some years ago playing lead guitar for Gary Allan.
Best Version of this song is by John Prine and Rachel Peer. RIP JOHN PRINE.
Oh dad
World class cover. Perfect pace. Perfect voices. Perfect simple guitar. Love it.
I always thought this song needed to be in 4th gear not 2nd. There was one recording the John Prine did that the tempo seemed faster. I think it was PBS or something it was on tv. The VCR recording does it no justice. Great song though.
okay,now what do i do,more Kathleen,David or John?Well gotta run.
You come home late and you come home early
You come on big when you're feeling small
You come home straight and you come home curly
Sometimes you don't come home at all
So what in the world's come over you
And what in heaven's name have you done
You've broken the speed of the sound of loneliness
You're out there running just to be on the run
Well, I got a heart that burns with a fever
And I got a worried and a jealous mind
How can a love that'll last forever
Get left so far behind
What in the world's come over you
What in heaven's name have you done
You've broken the speed of the sound of lonelines
You're out there running just to be on the run
It's a mighty mean and a dreadful sorrow
It's crossed the evil line today
Well, how can you ask about tomorrow
When we ain't got one word to say
So what in the world's come over you
What in heaven's name have you done
You've broken the speed of the sound of loneliness
You're out there running just to be on the run
You're out there running just to be on the run
You're out there running just to be on the run
Nice job, kids! I have to say that the setting strikes me as a trifle tacky. I greatly enjoyed the audio ... but found myself distracted by David's (excessive) grimacing. Still in all .. very nice rendition of a classic.
And it would have been nice if the camera had stayed still for more than three seconds.
Nice recording.
Great sound, great song, great voices, good player but learn to tune with a capo.
Naah
David you need to ease up big time on the facial gymnastics.
A bit overdone as if they were living the drama in the song. Nothing like the real thing by John Prine.
Lovely
Great interpretation of a great song by a great artist. John would be proud. 👍
