    Man it would be nice to see Sony release a 28mm 1” (no cropping) smartphone. No tele and ultrawide lenses, just one focal, with proper aperture control. Just like the the Panasonic DMC-CM1, but with all the Sony goodies: the focusing, the apps and the UI.

    Odd to say but in the settings menu for Video Pro, turn off stability.
    1. You get more frame.
    2. It alleviates many of the artifacting that ruined your videos and the stability is actually better. My theory is that SONY is coupling the native OIS with their e-stab and many occasions they clash instead of harmonise causing inconsistent stability. Turn it off and it's just the OIS. Natural pan, less jitter organic motions!

    For stabilization, everyone forgets that the Sony ZV-1 and new Sony cameras save gyroscopic data, and can be stabilized much better in post. That is a nice feature since you don't have to worry about having super steady hands while shooting. I think when shooting you increase the shutter to double or triple the normal setting, so if I am not mistaken there "might" be less motion blur depending on the settings.......... gyroscopic data should be included in all cameras

      I'm wondering if he had the shutter speed up too high... The common rule for video is to have your shutter speed double your frame rate for the best smoother motions... So that would be like 1/60 for 30fps... for 120fps the closest it can get is 1/250... for 24 it's 1/48... I could imagine if you had to up the shutter to compensate for just too much bright light then you would will get those choppier looking movements or slower might so something similar as well....I find that I shoot a higher frame rate if the light is super bright so I can raise the shutter speed to get smooth motion or you have to switch to the f4.0 aperture or use an ND filter... EDIT: I've mostly been using 30fps on my videos so I end up with 1/60 shutter... So this might be why I don't see as much blurring...

    • @pixels_per_inch
      @pixels_per_inch Před 2 lety +3

      I am planning to do a comparison on my channel. First glance the Xperia has the advantage of the wider aperture. It looks better imho in Video and stabilisation is also better.

    Greetings from Hong Kong. Merry Christmas Kai & Lok!
    As the PRO-I is not using the full size of the 1" sensor sensor, when it compare with ZV-1 side by side, ZV-1 still wins for the sharpness, resolution and stability. Especially the stabilizer program have a huge room to reach the name of "PRO".
    Sony is doing excellent on cameras and cine recorders, but their Xperia phone always stuck with software experience. Higher price then Samsung Galaxy S series, but the user experience is not as friendly as competitors. Hopefully they can improve their software part to get market's atttaction.

      You are right... Though again not meant to appeal to people who want to click and go... That's what the pixel and iPhones are for... It's meant for people wanting to do specific things that require much more control than you would normally get without an aftermarket app... And most aftermarket apps usually don't run with all the phones available features...

    As the famous saying goes, the best camera is the one you have on you.
    I wouldn't take the Pro-I over most regular cameras of competing or larger sensor size. But I think the competition for this is more other smart phones. I'll always have one in my pocket, so would this photo/video better than an iPhone or pixel or Honor is the real question

      I did. You need to get out of your bubble. Sony Xperia's smartphone cameras are the best because it keeps the integrity of the image as it doesn't ruin it with all that phony AI enhancement crap that all other smartphones like the iPhone does. I bought the Xperia Pro-I because I needed to upgrade my phone and at the same time I wanted a great camera. I didn't have money to buy a quality smartphone and a quality standalone camera. The Xperia Pro-I is two for one so that's what I got.

    If you use SONY's tripod which is available on Sony's website or Sony shop for this camera, even phone gives you over heated warning, you can keep filmimg for more than one hour. Already Japanese CZcamsr is using as car dash cam. Did you learn how to use this Xperia Pro I??? Seems like you don't know how to use it and how to set up its function. Once you learn how to use it, you can take fantastic photos and videos. Xperia PRO I is for professional or people who know photography or videography. For me, this phone is over spec and I don't know how to use it.
