FINALLY - a real photographer getting real shots and editing them like a real shooter! I hate all the reviewers who rag on Sony's menu system for being so "difficult" to use. This is BY FAR much easier to shoot with than an iPhone or a Galaxy because there's so much control! You don't have to take ten shots trying to worry whether the white balance or the ISO or the focus or (god forbid) the shutter speed is correct for your shot. Focus, more than anything else, is AMAZING. Nobody else even comes close lol.

It's so over exaggerated. The Sony Xperia Pro menu systems are not complicated. I'm no camera guru, nor tech expert and I figured it out after a day of playing around with my Xperia 1 mark ii. And as you say....it works fantastically with the level of control. I swear a lot of the reviewers must think that the average person has difficulty tying their own shoelaces

Being a guy who got hit by a car on crosswalk 2 years ago, and now seein' our man Pierre, on the skateboard, recording and testing out a phone in middle of the street is giving me over-the-top anxiety... Hats down to you Pierre for being an 'traffic junkie' :D

The focusing on this is super fast without using burst. Definitely considering to upgrade from my Xperia 1-ii and will be a nice addition to my RX-100 VII.
Im thinking of ditching my rx100 in general for this

@Tessoro Desoto i tried a 1iii and was disapointed.i ended up with an iphone 13 pro. I have an a7iii.the rx100 was my everyday carry but transferring file was annoying.they all good enough for everyday use i just needed something portable.when being serious i use my a7iii
@Tessoro Desoto dont think there will be a big difference.the 1 inch sensor isnt used to its fullest.maybe the 4k 120 might be good but other things are similar like other smartphones just less sharpening.if you a serious photographer it will be good otherwise dont bother
@@stephaned3072 I'm tempted to get rid of my ZV-1 for this as well since I won't ever need to transfer the videos and can edit straight on the phone most of the time. That workflow upgrade alone is worth the price tag in the long run. Might just rock this and my A7sIII for better videos/photos.

The photo came out from the Xperia is raw non cooked (if you understand what I mean).. Xperia not like others, we edit the way we like.. but other android and iphone AI edit for you

For reflective shot, a mini tripod is very helpful. :)
I kinda want to get in to photography, but i'm stuck at home cuz of medical reasons. But i still have a backyard and a home. Do you think i could still get into photography? Thank you im advance! Loved the video aswell
Macro and close-up photography might be a good choice (alongside the usual family, pets and portrait shots etc). You can do macro in a studio or outdoor (garden) setting and there is no end of subject matter to explore. If you get serious, a rail for focus stacking, and adapted microscope lenses for extreme magnification will open another whole world of new material. All feasible on a tight budget too, if needed. Check out a few beginner macro videos, it might appeal...
of course you can. Build small scale models, landscapes, grow flowers, do something ... and then start photographing those things. Have you ever seen the shots of the guy, that builds like 30s street models and then makes realistic photos of them, you'd think he'd time traveled back to take the photo with a modern camera ? Lots and lots of ways, you can get into photography.
shot after shot, how do you come up with those shots so fast? what a talent! great phone, er camera i mean :)
I like how we use the xperia Pro-I to do proper panning shots, while the Google pixel uses computational photography to simulate panning shots.
Still prefer the old school optical method using the xperia Pro-I as a proper camera.
This is an impressive camera phone. Looking forward to upgrade from my Xperia 1 II. While still an alpha mirrorless user, having a pocketable RX100 with me everywhere is just so convenient! Beats all other phones. Just like Sony to quietly surprise us with great tech. Thanks for the review!

I have nokia x6, symbian os, the shutter button works as same as xperia does, which slight press to get focus and long press to take a pictures.
i took picture while riding a motorbike using nokia x6. And how asthonished i am when see the picture. The objects in the photo not blurry att all even focus as if i took a picture using tripod and doesnt moved my body

SONY desperately needs to get their phones on at least one US carrier. Exactly as you point out...most people don't pay full price for their phone outright. Most people get it on contract and essentially pay their phones off over two years. I don't see how SONY will ever sell any large amount of phones without carrier support.
@@Sabundy exactly and I have a biase towards Sony, I shoot Sony, all their products are great, hopefully they make a change soon, because this phone is way ahead of it's time
@@iAmAdrianClarke frankly I can't understand why they can't make a deal. I know they even have a working relationship with Verizon in the US. They tested the Xperia Pro together filming and transmitting live sports over 5G. So why can they not seen to make a deal with a US carrier 🤷🤷🤷🤷

Actually water resistant mobiles are not for sea/saline water, Sony clearly mention it in their manuals. I don't even try it on chlorinated water parks, but only in rivers.

I'd wait for the full review to get a better idea for battery life since the sony cameras usually chew through batteries pretty quickly when filming in 4k.
Always good to see someone that actually understands how to use the Xperia camera system. Too many so called tech gurus and reviewers apprantly cannot figure out how anything works of it's not an iphone
They use auto mode only that's why. No bother to actually learn the art of photography.
