- Hello, my name is Leeya Rose Jackson, and I just quit my "dream" Art Director job at Weiden + Kennedy NY. Emotional hijinks ensued. A different take on the "I don't dream of labor" trope as an almost 30, Black female creative.
In the coming weeks, I plan to make a follow-up - including specific tips for going full-time freelance/creative entrepreneur and how I became an Art Director in the first place. But for now, welcome to a new chapter in my creative/career journey.

Congrats on taking this step, I understand because I took this step too from my job, but this isn’t my first time I quit a job. I will say just take it one step and one day at a time. I am a witness you can always go back if you want to, but you will feel regret if you never try. I know you will do great 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾!!!

Leeya, thank you for sharing your art journey with us. I just now discovered your channel a few months ago and I have been going back and watching your old videos to catch up. You are a true inspiration. Your career reminds me of Halle Berry's character on Boomerang. You took the exact path I thought I wanted in life, but I decided early on. I wanted to be an Art Teacher/Artist instead of an Art Director/Artist. Nevertheless, I am so proud of you taking that leap of faith. I can definitely understand how your feelings were at that time. I would love to know how are you are feeling about your decision now.
Also the poster you designed that was on the bus, That was so cool. Also very similar to Boomerang. I am so proud of you. I hope you will continue to do your channel. It will eventually grow.
