I keep a skeleton in my suv all year round. Starbucks and Dutch Brothers employees named him Roger. So they all get excited to say “Hi” to Roger when I drive through. Too funny!!

Jade, have you thought about painting the wall behind your fireplace black as an accent wall? My hubby and I painted a wall in our LR black as an accent to the 3 white walls. I know you have a black chair by the fireplace but perhaps a white furry throw on it would add to the look. Our black accent wall looks amazing! I am so glad we did it.~Dena
That’s what I thought! Instead of the mantle or the like framed section above the mantle, if she painted the wall around it black it would make the mantle stand out even MORE. I love the black wall idea, it looks so chic no matter the decor style

I love dark decor hunting, I just found some awesome candle sticks, I mean the are huge not just tall. Anyhow, I found them at a thrift shop and painted them black, they look awesome. Then my sister found a bird cage and I painted that black as well, it looks awesome.
This is just the fix I needed! I've been getting a Harry Potter subscription box and now I'm using a lot of the potions and dark decor to make some year round displays! Lots of good inspiration in your decorating journeys, Jade!

I think the black on black would look good but maybe see if you could find a lot of texture to make the pillows not fully blend in or add a really dark grey to give a little bit or variety. 💕
Yeah good point! Like maybe some gray chunky knit pillows, some black textured pillows, white fuzzy pillows, etc.

I've been impatiently waiting for halloween since like late january. I have been incorporating pumpkin pie spice into my drinks. coffee, hot cocoa, milkshakes, homemade frappuccinos, everything. I can't wait for fall, i need the spooky decor, the pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavors, the early fall weather, the harvest food, and above all Halloween and everything that comes with it! your videos always give me a little splash of spooky season to hold me over until i need my next fix :)

I just had to tell you that I laughed so hard I started tearing up when you said that your car was the size of a peanut and yet you still couldn't fit in that parking space! Just the way you worded it and the fact that I can relate so much with my little Kia soul hamster car and when I went to the grocery store today I drove past two parking spots that I couldn't fit in because the people didn't know how to park on either side of the open parking spot so I can relate so much and I just love how you worded it I'm now again laughing writing this

It would be so cool if you went to an antique mall/store and tried to find dark decor. I found an old rundown antique mall near me and found so many cool things, including a time coffee table magazine on Charles Manson for $9. Also dark red Avon glass decanters. So much cool stuff at antique stores
Jade! I saw a darling set up with the tall candelabras, in Seattle, they were placed on either side of a bed, I loved the look, but I have a very baroque bedroom, very vampireish. For your black couch I have added dark purple pillows, for dark decor. I added a 3ft. tri Gothic gold mirror situation to my livingroom fireplace mantle, love it. Love your videos! Always fun! Mr. Skeleton may need some shades, and dapper hat for summer!
Painted my fireplace black last year. No regrets because it really pops and looks awesome, but black decor pretty much doesn't work at all on the mantle anymore. Orange or white would be the way to go.
I use to watch trading spaces, my favorite decoator would always put a black line in paint or a black cord to highlight the edges of trim or a fireplace to make it pop. If you don't like it, very fast to undo. The edges were never more then a quarter inch.

My fiancé bought me a gnome theme garden figure a couple weeks ago online for my garden. He knows that I hate them but this one I actually like. It’s a cat and he is eating a gnome and holding two gnomes. It’s actually very funny so I told him it’s ok.

I have a toddler sized Michael Myers clown doll that I put in my nephew's car seat and drove around with that, when I was still driving. The second glances I got from people at stoplights in my Midwest town were priceless😊

I get what you're saying about the tone on tone black couch idea. Maybe create a mood board on can a with your idea to play around with it before buying all the things? I think it could look cool, especially with varying textures and shapes of black pillows.

You really should do the Antique malls. You can really find Dark Decor all year round. Plus the prices at the Antique stores are very comparable to the thrift stores and sometimes even better! I think we would all Love to see that shopping haul for sure!

I hope you read all these comments and this message gets to you. But an idea that would be kinda cool, is they have self stick and removal wall paper. You could do a feature wall, with the back ground looking like woods, black and white. Could give a witchy elevated elegant type feel. Something to look into

I think it would be cool if you did a video where you built like an inspo board. Like do a screen recording on your laptop or whatever of you browsing Pinterest or different stores online and building like a mood board... That might help you know what direction you want to go and those are really fun to watch too where you sort of browse around and build out a loose plan. Can’t wait to see how it plays out :)

Home goods has alot of wooden arches u can spray paint , but hobby lobby I scored this nice size gothic pattern arch candle holder !! Came with a nice black matte candle holder attached just have to spray the arch!👻🔮

The picture of the branchy trees made me think that a painting of a dark forest would be a great background to your mantle decore.
I liked the wall art of the bare trees. I may have to paint one for myself. Also, I like the dark decor hunting better in a way because it’s more neutral and functional. Think about how you might see something at Halloween with a nice style to it and then flip it over and it’s got a cheesy cartoon ghost or a Halloween pun or has “pillow” written on it in that Rae whatever scrawl. And I like a pun but it’s these mom puns that you see on every school flyer or birthday party invitation, and I just don’t want a lovely black and white striped blanket marred with the word “spooktacular” in big orange letters. Ye gods.
And a lot of the actual Halloween products are made from crummy, disposable materials where year round decor tends to be more durable.
Gray scale pillows could work for the black and white. Or you could make some! Also with the idea of the black mantle/fireplace, it's often easier to find white decor than black decor... but I totally get that you've already spent a lot time, effort, and money finding black decor for it...

Leave your mantel white because I think the black would wash out all your decor unless you go with grey or white totally not dark or your style which I love.
I got a hanging skeleton last year from dollar tree. He’s still in my car and it’s may 😂😂 I love him so much and he just chills in the back drivers side window.
You don't need to go black definitely if you want to alter the wall behind your fireplace, a nice shade of gray would compliment the wall and stand out as well. Just reference your own video to notice how the grays in your car compliment your hair and outfit; and Mr.Skeleton adds the beige to the color scheme you're looking for. BTW, ever think of heading to an antique store or two to find other spooky decor? My wife and I use them a lot to decorate our own home.
