What I found amusing watching this on BBC is that before the race Steve Cram said he was expecting many National Records, possibly as many as eight, then the screen focused on Jakob and showed his previous 3:27 PB and Steve Cram said, I doubt we'll get a Norwegian National Record though. By the end of the race the Norwegian National Record was the only one we got.
Well done Jakob, obviously the Olynpics will be very different without pacers and wave lights, but he's certainly put himself in a good position to defend his title.
Can I just mention one performance from this meet that no-one seems to be talking about. Julien Alfred in the women's 100m running 10.85 into a 1.0m/s head wind and shutting it down about 10m out. Weill it impressed me anyway.

In athletics, the abbreviations "AR," "WL," and "PB" have specific meanings related to performance records:
AR (Area Record): This indicates the best performance ever recorded in a specific geographical area, such as a continent. For example, if a runner achieves the fastest time ever recorded in Europe, it would be noted as the European Area Record.
WL (World Leading): This term signifies the best performance in the world within a specific calendar year. For instance, if an athlete runs the fastest 100 meters in 2024, their time would be considered the World Leading (WL) time for that year.
PB (Personal Best): This denotes an athlete's best performance in their career for a particular event. If a long jumper achieves their furthest jump ever, it is marked as their Personal Best (PB).
These abbreviations help in quickly identifying and comparing the significance of an athlete's performance on various levels - personal, regional, and global.

And what? We're talking about the fastest runners in the world here, and Jakob's more than two seconds faster than Kerr ever was. Sure, Kerr might sneak in the occasional tactical win, but let's not lose sight of the levels here.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is great when there are pacers and lights. But he has to do it without those in the Olympics against some great tactical runners with great finishing kicks. He is going to have to push the pace to take the kick out of everyone, but it isn't easy to do it alone. Glad to see he is all the way back from injury. Going to be fun to watch.

With Kerr’s closing speed, I do believe Ingrebritsen will have to take it out fast. Cheriyut, also running fast again, best chance to medal is to take it out fast too. Hard to imagine Olympic record and sub 3:30 will not happen. Leading the 1500 the whole way is a huge disadvantage. The advantage to Jakob is no 5000 m before 1500 m final. Kerr running his 3:45 mile this past Spring is around the equivalent of a 3:27 for 1,500m, so he's not far off what Jakob did. Plus, Kerr is also even stronger now.
