  • Our first Wayne National Forest Trail Ride finally came together and we had such a great time. We rode the Monday Creek area (which has approximately 75 miles of trails), not far from Athens, Ohio. Before the ride I watched videos online and read reviews to try and understand the layout and the trails but, really, you just have to go there, get your trail permit and map from a local vendor, and head to one of the trail heads. Every one we met was extremely helpful and helped to point us in the right direction. Definitely a highlight of the year!

This channel is for motorcycle riders, mechanics, and enthusiasts who enjoy the simple joys of motorcycling, from dual sport riding to fixing up old bikes on a budget. My videos also consider the perspective of short motorcycle riders (when it’s helpful and relevant) in choosing and modifying bikes and equipment.
I’ve been hooked on motorcycles since 1975 when, at the age of 11, my dad brought home a shiny new Suzuki TM75 for me and a Suzuki TC185 for himself so that we could trail ride together in the hills of West Virginia. Since then I’ve worked as a mechanic, owned countless bikes, and even worked in the motorcycle industry for a number of years as a photographer and journalist. Now I do mainly video production and enjoy nothing more than making and sharing these motorcycle videos on CZcams.
Thanks again for watching. Ride safe!

Just grabbed a DRZ400 so I'd love to be along sometime. It's about 2.5 hours from me is all.

Probably an optical illusion but your handlebars seem like they are narrower than most . Except for the mud ( I really dislike mud ) that seems to be a real nice area to ride instead of the rock gardens we have here in Northeast Pa. Thinking of bringing my bike out to Ohio next trip to the grandkids near Chardon, Ohio.

Yeah, it was a great time and easy enough for everyone in the group. I really love the technical trails but some of my mates are novices and the tough stuff makes for really slow going. This allowed us to keep riding and not spend most of the day picking up motorcycles. Cheers! :)

Hey, park junkie, great meeting you, too! Thanks for taking the fire tower pic for us. Stay in touch if you ever want a group to ride with while you're in Ohio.

Love the content Jimmy! I recently picked up a ‘06 XT225 with 2,500 miles. Loving it so far! Only problem is it seems very cold blooded! Hard to get her to idle after cold starting, I’m afraid of using too much choke. Before you backed out the fuel screw 2.5 - 3 turns how long would you give it choke to get it warmed up from being cold? Is leaving the choke fully up for 2-3 mins, reducing to half way for another 2-3 mins bad for the bike?
Also some backfire when decelerating. What’s the best way to avoid or fix the lean issue? I know they came lean from factory to meet emissions requirements. What should I do Jimmy? Thanks!

liked the music, but I would much rather hear the music of the motorcycls

I hear ya. On that day I didn't go to the trouble of plugging in the extra mic so it was just the stock GoPro mic and crackling wind noise at anything over 10 mph. I'll make more of an effort to rig the extra mic next time.
