WCT 4 - Final - GNF v United

  • And here it is - the WCT 4 Final - GNF v United. It's a bit of a strange one, though. For the first 14 Chases, very few of the Evaders seemed to last for more than around 12 seconds and the average chase length was almost half that of some of the previous matches. That all changed in 15th though, when Caryl Cordt-Moller scored an absolute blinder of an Evasion that will definitely be a contender in the Best Chase Competition (which starts next week!!!).

      To be fair, it's not Boxing or Ice Hockey or anything, so, yeah. Most of these kinds of sports are like that due to their relaxed, fringe nature, and it helps that most of them are just great at doing this, but it's not like they trained for 20 years and just lost 50 million and a lot of their career chances, etc. as can happen in many sports, so this is a non-issue for them, win or lose. Video gaming tends to be like this, too, though some pro gamers are very angry, of course, but most are fine. They are just playing games really well and then win 5 million, so they are happy. Looks like the same is true for Disc Golf. Chess is also friendly overall, though is very serious.

    Not sure if you’ve noticed but we always like to be as honest as possible and point out where we messed up or when things didn’t go to plan. So, here goes…. I was kind of dreading releasing this video. The previous match i.e. SF2 - United v Blacklist - czcams.com/video/6CDNKNaxJSA/video.html was an absolute classic - there were loads of good quality chases, loads of Evasion, United came from behind to force a Sudden Death Chase-Off and ended up winning etc. This match however, was different. As a couple of the comments so far have pointed out (and I’m sure there’ll be more), this match wasn’t worthy of the final until the last chase… and I kind of agree. In no way whatsoever do we blame the teams or the athletes but sometimes that’s just how sport plays out. It’s just unfortunate that it happened during the final of an otherwise amazing tournament (again, we’re not taking anything away from the teams or the athletes, sometimes it just works out like that). However, having said that, the final Chase was one of the best of the whole event and, on the actual night, all the short chases that preceded it made it even more crazy and spectacular. In fact, regardless of what happened earlier in the match, that final chase was probably one of the single best moments we’ve ever had at an event and it probably wouldn’t have been that way if the first 14 chases had been any different. Anyway, just thought I’d share my thoughts (ha - there's a good chance I might read this again later, regret posting it cause I didn't explain myself properly and delete it.... who knows). Thanks again for all the support and much appreciation to all the athletes for making this sport what it is - can’t wait for the next season!! Keep Chasing and Don’t get Caught!!

      Love the content but couldn't disagree more this finals event was amazing it showed the true talent these guys. To be honest this was the first match up that I thought was completely even and I loved it eneded on the final point. For anyone who had criticisms because it wasn't a high scoring match clearly doesn't watch other sports. This happens in every professional sport when two very good teams match up it turns into a low point match and ends on a nail biter so again couldn't disagree more with the view on this match loved every minute start to finish hats off to GNF and United for showing how truly amazing you are and knocking out all the raining champs see yall next event 💪💪💪🇺🇲🇺🇲

    • @WorldChaseTag
      @WorldChaseTag  Před 4 lety +12

      @@AustinK95 That's good to hear Austin and thanks for the comment. Sometimes when you're involved in something too closely it difficult to have an unbiased view. Although for me, it wasn't the low score that worried me, it was the short chases. If it had been 0-0 after 14 chases but the average chase length was more like 15-18 seconds (as opposed to 5-8 seconds) then I would have been fine about it. Either way though, the final Evasion more than made up for it and really glad you enjoyed it!!
