Exactly. Who cares. But there is paranoia both from those being watched as well as those watching. One is supposed to get used to it. From my point of view it’s a waste of tax payer money. after all military intelligence is for the battlefield and if a government is resorting to watching its own people then it’s like living in a dictatorship even if it isn’t - it’s just more subtle. On the contrary the good side is that they value individual humanity and human life and thus they spend huge amounts of taxpayer cash watching for one in a million crazy people who do bad things. Truth is there are a few bad people everywhere and different countries deal with it in different ways. Personally I think I would rather see my tax dollars spent on high speed rail, free education for my kids so I dont sell all my assets for college fees, and bankrupt myself with medical bills if I get sick. For the crazy ones put mentally ill people (what this system calls a terrorist) into mental institutions where they belong. The odd nutjob is inevitable. Blowing them up all over the world with cruise missiles and drones and stalking the ones who live here will only serve to create more angry recruits. The problem with the paranoia is that it’s a part of a system that feeds on itself. Ike called it the military industrial complex - and it will eventually be curtailed. Probably the coming economic depression will do the trick and find us another new deal, which as a nation we sorely need.

SOOO TRUE
