Coach Taylor taking his personal time to do everything he can for a former player. We don’t deserve him.
Smash showing out to Texas A&M and then getting a full scholarship is the best episode of this show, no question. This scene is significant because of how much trust Taylor holds within Smash's confidence.
I love that common theme in this show. Smash, Riggins, Saracen, Vince. He knew that they didnt have great father figures but went out to help them as much as he could
Racquetball with all those lateral moves is probably the best sport to test out an ACL injury
Facts this was a very subtle scene
So you're saying coach had a plan?
I believe they're playing Squash, but I could be wrong
@@banjopiggottwright1802nah it’s definitely racquetball, the ball in squash is smaller and doesn’t have as much bounce.
smash had a great arc - a rise, then fall, then rise again
*the rise, the fall, and redemption of Smash Williams
Coach Taylor tryna get Smash to try reminds of the the quote, "the saddest thing in life is wasted talent"
This means we get the Smash mama scene soon, too!
“You goin’ to that tryout. And you’re gon’ play like God made you to. And you are going to go to that college. Oh you’re gon’ take my help. I am your mother. Maybe you get the scholarship but if you don’t I AM GOING TO HELP YOU! Now you let me be your mama, that is MY job!”
Amazing writing
“If you want this it is waiting for you. I can’t want it for you” brilliant
“Cause I need something good to happen”
One of my favorite series of all time I love rewatching this series it always teaches me something about life💯💪🏾
facts God bless
Cause I need something good to happen.
Thanks to Coach, and to all the other coaches who put their heart and soul into the game of life.
"cause I need something good to happen" WOW
We all need someone like coach Taylor
This means we get Smash getting to tryout at A&M scene soon!??❤️
I sincerely hope so
One can only pray
One of the cool things about the show was the inclusion of other sports, from Riggins golfing with his dad or playing table tennis with coach, to volleyball, squash, etc
Now I just need the clip at A&M with Coach and Smash
What can I say. I loved this show. So many lessons. Show has a special place in my heart forreal
One of my favorites scenes👌🏽
When I first heard they were going to do this show I wasn't really happy about it but then I couldn't miss an episode I love the show this was a great show
Facts the show was better than the movie
The secret to Coach Taylor is to drop the mic and quickly GTFO of the room before the other guy has a chance to respond
I've tried everything. Please can someone tell what song is playing at the end of the scene? Because apparently there's no information on planet earth
Full disclosure, not the actual song…but it sounds like it’s very inspired by Mogwai’s I know you are but what am I
I didn't think smash lost that much speed on the show
Smash had to walk home 20 miles around midnight just like riggins had to lmao You could do that in the early 2000s
maybe it’s because we never felt the gravity of smash’s injury but this bs with smash wanting to quit bc he couldn’t run a 4.4 post acl INFURIATED me. you literally watched your qb lose the ability to walk and you’re throwing in the towel bc you’re “not as fast”? idk why this made me SOO mad lol
Well 4.9 is slow asf for any skill position. I recall he did say he was .5 slower in the 40. Nonetheless, he definitely proved that doctor wrong and showed out at that walk-on tryout. I think him being slow was all in his mind.
@@sjnorthmusic he was still post acl expecting a 4.4….
@@nicolebayless If he was doing proper speed training he definitely would have gotten back down to 4.4
Did coach just give Smash a ride to the racquetball court and then ditch him?
nah, probably waited outside for him
This is the same guy who made Tim Riggins walk home in the rain.
Did it to riggins
@@tyso921 coach loves making people walk i guess
Good scene but they should be wearing goggles
